I disagree that most of the fun comes from playing with friends. The game isn't like borderlands, or an mmo where each character lends itself to social interactions and hilarious hijinks, at least not to me it doesn't.
The beauty of this game lies in pure, unadulterated exploration, and since my friends aren't really the role playing type, I would rather explore things in my own order at my own pace. The alternative is constantly competing with them to get to everything first.

I think we're (mostly) all old enough to have lost friends before for one reason or another and have a fairly good understanding of how friendships work. We could go weeks or months without talking to one another due to work, or just because we don't feel like it and then resume without any effort. It really isn't that hard a thing to maintain, unless you just fold up your arms and give up. If you lose a friend, even a best friend it isn't the end of the world, just pick yourself up and make some new friends.
You can call that douchey if you want, but I prefer to think of having a thick skin as an advantage, and helps me find new people and new interests. I would much rather have that than crippling communication or taking extra special precautions to dance around issues better openly discussed.

The whole reason he ended the friendship is because I talked to him about why he was always ignoring me.
I've lost friends before, I've had a friend video tape me being beat up by eleven people at the same time. But this is someone I talked to [I]almost every day for three years[/I]. He was my best friend, someone I entrusted serious secrets to. I had never had a friendship like it before, and then he threw it out the window and said he didn't care if I never talked to him again, like the friendship meant nothing.
Now if your going to play the 'Meet new friends who are more interesting' card, have you ever considered that it's [I]really fucking hard[/I] for some people to meet new friends, especially when said person has clinical [I][B]depression and anxiety[/B][/I]?
PS, basic advice will never be to tell someone to 'grow up' when they don't know the whole situation.

Or that. It's a good decision imo, I had a hard time using guns and bows in Terraria thanks to limited ammunition. It's the same with every game ever, I amass a maximum amount of every item I can get and then I never use them.
I noticed something during the video that the Rocket Launcher gives off light when it passes through a dark area. Thats pretty awesome.

Reminds me of Fallout 3, where I hunted down every single Mini Nuke and the MIRV, then never fired it.
My character must be for non-proliferation.
Seriously though bullets and lasers MUST have some differences either in damage or something along that. Seeing as both bullet weaponry AND laser guns are going to use the energy meter.
I mean, why the fuck would they add two different projectile types if there's no differences whatsoever?
