You are a hero.
not no small feat
Wouldn't that be dependent on whether or not they used DirectX for the graphics?
If it's releasing on Mac and Linux they probably have an OpenGL version of it - and as such the Windows version would probably be OpenGL too. I remember seeing some posts a while ago where they were looking for mobile developers - it was said in the IRC that while it was just for a companion app, they'd be interesting in future in producing a mobile version of the game.
I ain't sure if anyone noticed but they added another three tracks you can listen to on the soundtrack page of the Starbound site. Listening to the music I can't help but feel a lot of it is really forgettable, it just feels like just background noise/ambiance to kinda sorta listen to while fucking about. Their best track in terms of memorability that we know is in the game is On the beach at night.

Hopefully they're sticking to OpenGL.

I wouldn't want something that stood out, because i'd get tired of it much quicker and just mute it. I hope there's more intense music though during any kind of 'events'.
Im going to play as Falco from StarFox.

Blue Straggler could get stuck in my head. I also really like Hymn to the Stars.

Hell, I went and bought the soundtrack before I had even finished the game. Best $5 I've ever spent.

here's a screenshot of the crafting menu, we've seen something similar to this a few months back but now it's a lot cleaner looking Oh, and Tiy also mentioned the progress on the game, and then someone on the forums kindly summed it up:
"To give you a vague idea until it's up. Universe generation is basically done. (Which is by far the most time consuming part of all of this). Navigation is done, weapon generation is mostly done, NPCs work but we want to add a ton of more unique behaviours and make them scale better with the planets threat level. Farming is done. Water physics are done, sand physics are done, explosion physics are done. Building is essentially done. Cooking is done. We need to do a few more dungeons and villages. We also need to get some parts of the ship leveling system working in code. Crafting works but we're revamping it. We need to do a lore/book reading system. We need to put shields in. We need to work on friendly NPCs/Shops/Quests some. The pet and vehicle systems need work."
it's so close i can almost taste it
Bartwe was a couple of days ago starting on coding the crafting interface and using that pic as a reference (which he flashed for a split second by accident), so I'm pretty sure that's a mock up.
it's so close i can almost taste it
To be honest, the earliest we can realistically hope for is probably going to be mid summer. There's probably going to be more that they're not happy with releasing and will want to hold on to and work with until they are sure the game is finished.

It's a nonlinear survival/horror sandbox type game, right?. Also, you aren't really exploring space, you're exploring a complex on the moon. Unless you meant that it was set in space. Edit: Ah, it says this on their website: Randomized environmental hazards, AI locations and useful aids. It's all pre-generated, but the items will appear in a set number of different locations randomly.

I remember seeing this on the first thread.
Actually it's more like an updated version of the old one. The original picture was a little rougher. As I recall, at least.
I love the interface in this game, I was expecting something really clean or empty but now I'm really liking how much information it has on each item. It looks like it'll take some getting used to though, everything looks crammed together and sort of hard to understand at first glance, maybe that's just me though.
I like the depth the modifiers have, doesn't look like there are simple tiers but branches instead.
