The IS-6 looks to be a better brawler than the KV-5, accuracy wouldn't be such an issue when you're less than 100m away and your lowpen gun can surely go for their cupolas or their hatches. The 200-less HP is compensated by the stupid armor the thing has too.
And you don't have such blatant weakpoints as compared to the KV-5 either.
Actually both have pretty damn good armor.

You can do that but you'll have to hope the enemy player has Parkinson. If he can actually aim he's going to penetrate you, especially since the T54-122 has silly sides that become a giant "pen me here" area when you angle your front.

Do you have the next gun on the 122-54 yet? It's a complete pain in the ass until you unlock it. Also I try to play the SU-122-54 more like a sniper and use its incredible camo rating to my advantage, that seems to work best as I've managed to get a 51% WR in it.
When do the american mediums start becoming bad? After the first patton? or is it just the patton 3 thats bad?

Maybe it's just because i bounce at all and I'm surprised. Playing it like a T54, I don't expect it to bounce all that often, but it surprises me how often it does.
Last night, I was up against a T54 with top gun on Lakeville. I hit him from about 100m, so he it me, both penned. He hid to reload and I just charged him. He came out and shot at me again and bounced. I shot and hit while he tried to get back after shooting. I went round corner hit him again in face hug. He bounced and I killed him with next shot.
In that sort of situation it seems to bounce a lot.
As I said earlier, I still think it's weak as a T9, but it's the gun not the armor that needs adjusting for this TD imo.

Its still does not have the top gun though and thats probably the problem.
