Maybe it was stupid of them to do it unlock codes but still...we all knew DLC was a part of the plan. I think it's kinda cool of them having it already built-in and ready to go. 5$ Isn't that high of a price and nothing on the disk is needed to play the game. What is on the disk is what the DLC was already planned to be. I am not a fan of DLC and have never said I was. It's not really that big of a problem as you guys want it to be though. If you really like the game and want to get more content out of it, than pay. If you didn't care for the game then don't bother with it.

That's one thing but to cut content just so they can do a money grab is unacceptable in my eyes. They already had it all done and decided that they'd slice it in half just so they could get more then what they deserve.

Well every company wants revenue on their product. Bioshock 2 was confirmed to have DLC since before release. This is the DLC is it not? Sure it may suck we have to pay to get what's on the disk but welcome to capitalism. They intended DLC and this is their way of getting it out. Would it really be such a big difference if it was up on the marketplace? Either way you'd pay the price and get the content. I find this just cuts out DL times.
It's not like that at all. The pant leg is a part of the pant, an integral part. This is extra content that you don't need in any way to play the game.
You don't need 2 pant legs to have pants, you don't even need the pant legs (they'll become shorts/underwear than though)
See how that works? I pay for the fucking content on that disk, I expect to use it.
You don't need your car radio, why don't I get rid of it and only let you have it if you pay me $500 more, it's bullshit; even if you paid for a license of the game, you still paid for what the fuck is on that disc.

These analogies are all fucking stupid because it all comes down to you guys being too cheap to pay $5.
You can argue that it's the principle behind it all you want, but really think about it. You just don't want to pay for more content.
It's not like you paid for a car and then paid a large amount of money to use a radio, you just paid $50 or 60 for a game and just don't want to pay $5 more. Just don't buy it, everyone's happy.

Because it's fucking locked content that was pre-made and put on the disc, this isn't later made material that is downloadable. This is all ready to use content that is locked out. Just because it's capitalism doesn't mean it's okay.

I paid for the game and what is on the disk. That content is on the disk.
I am not buying DLC. Infact I don't even own Bioshock 2 but I speak in general.
I paid for what is on the disk.

So are you going to argue that every resource for a game (textures, models, sound files, etc) should be fair game for anyone's use too? It's on the disk and you paid for it.
In all reality I like this system. I wish the taxidermist was on the Heavy Rain disk so I wouldn't have had to sit through the (admittedly quick) download.
I just hope more developers start doing this, fuck waiting 5 minutes to download a DLC I can download in a few seconds.
Depends really, I personally would have no issue with people using my pay for stuff if it was for free-games/mods. (Speaking in general)
You pay for a license for what is on the disk. I expect to be able to use it. You want to be extorted for money? Go right ahead
BTW this type of DLC would never work on computer
I remember back in the good old days when 10$ could get you a kickass expansion pack

Haha you're saying that anyone who buys this is being extorted? Jesus christ, you guys are so fucking insane.
IT IS FIVE DOLLAR CONTENT THAT HAPPENED TO BE ON THE DISK THAT DOES NOT BREAK THE GAME IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT.
I mean come the fuck on, this is worse than the whole "WELL I OWN THE PC VERSION I SHOULD GET ALL DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT FOR FREE BECAUSE I AM INHERENTLY BETTER FOR OWNING THE PC VERSION HEIL GATES! PC MASTER RACE!". Just grow the fuck up and pay the $5 instead of going on about the principle of the matter.
As I said previously, I would agree with the complaints if a substantial portion of the game was removed. In this case, the amount that is lost is insignificant.
It's the fact that they put locked content into a disk that I paid for which is bullshit.
You do know that if you let this slide it will get worse right.
[editline]02:12AM[/editline]
Also, nice raging :smug:
The license to use the software is 60$. Anything extra you want on the software costs more. It's simple and if you're too cheap to buy it or just aren't interested then avoid it! Some people do want to see more of the game and buy the DLC and they're given that option. When you pay 60$ that doesn't transfer the years of work into the game into your hands, it gives you access to use it. What is on the disk is the DLC you were promised. It is no different from it being on the marketplace for 5-10$

The worst thing is the whole "I BOUGHT IT ON PC AND I SHOULD HAVE DEDICATED SERVERS BECAUSE I AM ENTITLED TO IT FOR SOME REASON"
You guys are assuming that the content on disk was ever planned to be in the release of the game, though. Nobody ever said that. It was probably planned from creation to be something to go "Hey, you guys like our game. Do you want more? Here, pay this POCKET CHANGE and get more content! Quick download too!"
Until it gets to the point where it's substantial, I'll be enjoying my games and not sperging because I didn't get everything for free.
The worst thing is the whole "I BOUGHT IT ON PC AND I SHOULD HAVE DEDICATED SERVERS BECAUSE I AM ENTITLED TO IT FOR SOME REASON"
Both are horrible things but what do you expect when you're talking a community who thinks they're somehow genetically superior because they always prefer to play games hunched at a desk as opposed to on a couch?
PC fanboys are honestly the worst type. It's sad, they act like they're entitled to having things that they were privileged to have had in the first place (dedicated servers, 50 dollar games) for some reason, as if they worked for it or something.
Exactly. It always baffles me when people go "Well xbox/ps3 fanboys are the worst, stupid contards" because pc elitism is dumb. I like all 3, I play most shooters with a gamepad regardless of platform, I like to play sitting comfortably as opposed to hunched.
PC fanboys are honestly the worst type. It's sad, they act like they're entitled to having things that they were privileged to have had in the first place (dedicated servers, 50 dollar games) for some reason, as if they worked for it or something.
Guys...look at it like this. The DLC was never planned to be a part of the main game and at the last minute decided, "OH I HAVE AN IDEA, LETS LOCK IT SO WE CAN GET MORE $$$" They intended to send out the DLC and this is it and their way of doing it. This is not a key part of the main game, it's not a 5 hour experience, and it's nothing ground breaking or new. If you want it, buy it. If not, no love lost. Nothing is going to be changed over your raging. This was the original plan, deal with it.

Alot of gamers have jobs you know, so they technically do work for it and deserve a good game with no bullshit.

I'm not raging, you don't know what the hell rage is than.
imo when you buy a game, you are entitled to everything on the disk/data you downloaded to download, so this is pretty shit.
DLC= Download-able Content
You should not have to buy a code to unlock content that is on your disk.
When you are supposed to Download the Content.
Because today's developers don't know what Download-able Content is.
Well here you go: Download-able content (commonly referred to as DLC) is a form of digital media distributed through the Internet. The phrase is used to refer specifically to content created for video games that is released separately from the main video game release.
They could market it as "bonus" or "extra" content. The wording isn't what's bothering people.

Why does them having jobs make them entitled to good games?
I stopped buying games along time ago anyway, I can't run new games.
I'm not raging, you don't know what the hell rage is than.
Woah, calm down.
Why does them having jobs make them entitled to good games?
If I work my ass off 5 days a week to support my self and I have some money left over for my own use, why am I not entitled to a good experience?
That's blood sweat and tears gone to fuckin waste.
Why does them having jobs make them entitled to good games?
It doesn't. Just because someone works at a law firm doesn't mean that they should be entitled to good games.

You should get one, but you're not entitled to one. Stop feeling entitled to stuff thanks.
Woah, calm down.
U :smug:
You aren't buying the game people. You are buying access to it. This is the DLC laid out for you. No one would give a fuck if it was off the disk and on the market though would they? Silly 2K trying to make it easier to access off the disk with a code. I'm sorry your unhappy Doommarine or any other gamers with not being able to afford 5$ for a DLC. Some people can though, and want to. Let people do what they want with their money. If you think this is unfair, go make a book about it. Welcome to the real-world, nothing is handed to you for free. The sooner you learn that the easier you find fees to be.
I can afford it, I choose not to support it.
You're also the person who made a chat in steam begging for donations and asked me for Microsoft points.
Don't throw TNT in your glass house

You didn't have a good experience a few weeks ago before we knew about the locked content? If you didn't then you obviously didn't like the game. If you DID then this shouldn't change jack shit. If you want to increase that experience, buy the DLC. If you are just uninterested then don't buy it. Blood, sweat, and tears? Really? That dramatic to afford this game? Where do you even work at? If you're obviously struggling to get by then why are you buying video games in the first place?
I never bought the game and I don't like Bioshock to begin with. I already said that
I don't support bullshit DLC like this.
BF2-2142 had it right, you download it in the patches and you can use the kits if they're from fallen enemies (or if a mod unlocks them) but you have to buy the expansion to unlock it.
[editline]02:36AM[/editline]
I am also speaking in general, I live with my poor family and go to high-school I have no job and the only money I get is $2.50 for lunch. :smug:
