hurr durr alright now some USEFUL advice.
Symmetry is everything. Also, for best results, make a simple (as in, advanced to successfully house a fortress and thrive/prosper for 4-5 years) fortress and, when the digging is done for that fortress, have your miners start on a completely new fortress a ways away, taking great care to make it look perfect.
After a long journey of adventures in Adventure mode, I'm gonna build the Great Wall of Dwarf Fortress. And a huge Satanist Temple in shape of a star. Wish me luck.
Should catch a demon and put in the middle of the temple. [editline]01:56PM[/editline] Also is their anyway to get rid of the annoying "Diggin designation cancled" message?
Use Just Dig It Out! Dunno if it works for 40d# though.
I dream of a mod that would allow me to switch between designation modes of 'area' and 'line'. The first one would be as it is now (design lefthand corner, design right low corner) and the latter would, similarly to designing patrol paths, draw a line between point A and B.
i think butt should be a raw material, they could be worn as headwear, or crafted into things like butt-arrows.
Two-legged rhino lizard is a harmful vermin. You could just have told me it was like a regular lizard, but, thanks :v:
i think butt should be a raw material, they could be worn as headwear, or crafted into things like butt-arrows.
Butt arrows should only do low damage but have massive chance of causing nausea and vomiting.
hurr durr alright now some USEFUL advice.
Advice: get a dictionary.
some goblins with a human ambushed my hunter who has melancholy, putting him out of his misery. I remember when he first arrived, a lowly lye maker I sent to him to his death by the many troglodytes of the wild, he proved himself and his beard by bringing back the much needed meat of the sinister hills. All this it seems was for nothing as one day he was possessed and then was stricken with grief when it was discovered we have no shells, I'm just glad he didn't have to starve to death.
i think butt should be a raw material, they could be worn as headwear, or crafted into things like butt-arrows.
And there could be randomly-generated creatures made of butt. http://i46.tinypic.com/t5q5bt.gif
why won't my dwarves pick up weapons and armor from dead goblins and put it in the armor/weapon stockpile? [editline]06:35AM[/editline] cool a dungeon master and some migrants [editline]06:40AM[/editline] God damn only 5 migrants? I'll lose that many dwarves in a season [editline]07:55AM[/editline] shit, I locked two farmers in the farmhouse where my major farm is when we got ambushed, then forgot to unforbid it, I was wondering where those job cancellations were coming from :v:
lololol.
Have you claimed the weapons and armour? You can either do it item per item or select an whole area using d->b->c (I think).
Also dwarfs can't wear goblin (Narrow) armor.
Holy link-spam. You could just have told me it was like a regular lizard, but, thanks :v:
He probably just copied it off the wiki
Which I indeed did.
New devlog
Four crash bugs fixed (two in each mode), smelting jobs fixed (they stopped appearing on the list), fixed a problem loading world gen parameters, hid a lot of announcements that were appearing improperly in adv mode, some grammar stuff... a few more old hands are checking things out, and apparently there are still plenty of crashes to go around! People wrestling teeth... cave crocodile killed 20 of 40 war dogs before going down... wolf corpse smacked into a zombie wolf's face, knocking out an eyetooth (that one is fine, he he he)... crossbow bolts failing to penetrate clothing now...
boooring [editline]06:32PM[/editline] you disappointed me Orkel
boooring [editline]06:32PM[/editline] you disappointed me Orkel
Toady, not me. I only throw the logs here.
Also dwarfs can't wear goblin (Narrow) armor.
well duh
Toady, not me. I only throw the logs here.
No, we all know that YOU are Toady. This innocent facade is just a clever ruse. You are always the first to post his devlogs!
well duh
Oh sorry misread your question, thought it was why were dwarfs not able to use :v:
anyone else use traders as a means to just get rid of all those rocks? stone crafts ahoy
I have a couple workshops where "make stone crafts" is just set to repeat. I make so many crafts, I can pretty much get everything I want out of a trade and still have plenty of leftover crafts for next time.
I have a legendary stonecrafter, so he constantly makes masterpiece toys and such...
Why bother going to bay12 when we have Orkel right here. he's like a newsbot, help wiki, story teller and joke generator rolled into one.
I for some reason can't read the devlogs here though, I always glance at them then go to bay12.
Is it safe to build my Star-shaped Satanist tower right above a Magma Pipe, and by that I mean I'll build a floor with no supports on the Magma pipe.
