I had a 50 dwarf army of pure crossbow men, and a 100 dwarf militia of crossbow men. Nothing survived, silly elves.

Just started playing this after putting it off forever. Man, the learning curve on this is really steep. My major question is about food. Where are some really good sources of food? My farm dried up some time ago and my herbalist continually stops gathering to hunt vermin. :raise:

For some weird reason, my marksdwarves are fucking lazy. I made got a squad of recruits with crossbows, and they hardly ever train. Most of them aren't even real marksdwarves yet! Some time after that, I also made a squad of unarmed recruits. They trained much more and now they're all legendary champions...

My food problems were solved pretty well (only one starved to death. :v: ). Now I just gotta' worry about all of the migrants who just showed up. My population just TRIPLED. :gonk:
