Might be running at a low FPs or something so that it shows things like that, I dunno, that's the only thing that comes to mind.
Whoah, I posted in the wrong thread.
Rate me dumb.

We need a silly rating.
Thread title should be "Dwarf Fortress - Clowns are Fun!"
so uh, is there a date on the release? Or is it "coming soon"
[editline]08:28PM[/editline]
also when will rape be added to adventurer
Should be about the 25th of Feb.
Should be about the 25th of Feb.
Should, yeah, but knowing Toady's estimates it might as well be on the 28th or more.
Well then i'm starting a fortress

^ Some guy on the Dwarf Fortress forums just finished his line of tutorials, might wanna add it to the OP.
Here's the forum link, that's just the first of the tutorials.

Thanks, I might give this game a go if the tutorial is clear enough.
The newest version I have on my computer seems to be from December 21, 2007.
Can't believe it's been so long since I played.
What's the best way to look up what I missed? I guess it's way too much to list.
Edit:
I think I have another version on my computer from february or august 08.
I really thought it was out
damnit thorny
on the other hand, I've just hit a 100 population mark in my fortress, for the first time ever :3:
Thread titles not as great as the fourth
everytime i play dwarf fortress, I like to make my fortress look symmetrical, I forgot how to do a screenshot in this game to show you my fort.
I make my fortresses like the Caldari make their ships.
In other words, asymmetrical for maximum efficiency.
what I do is that my stock piles for wood, stone, bars/blocks, and food goes right next to my specific workshops, for example, my workshops for food (fishery, butcher, kitchen, and still) goes right next to my food stockpiles, and my stone stockpiles goes with those workshop that works with stone (mason, Craft, mech, and jewelry).
I just have a giant food room, armor and weapons are branched off by the barracks, there's a hall for workshops and anything temporary or I just don't care about goes outside.
In honor of the new version thread, I humbly request addition to the people who play list.

This please.
I wonder when this game will stop being developed
Don't ever say that! You don't wanna jinx toady now do you.
I've been visiting for like the past two threads and I'm not added
Add me to the list who plays please?
Also that world gen thing takes forever to load.
Why aren't my hunters hunting? They all have "no job."
They also never pick up bolts before they go hunting. How do I make them use bolts? We've got a stockpile full of them.
Also one of my woodcutters isn't cutting wood, even though trees are designated to be chopped down. ONE of the woodcutters is working, and another has "no job"
What the hell came over all my dwarves?
Anyone else perticular about where everything is when they set out? I can't play unless I have a mountain to the north and some plains to the south.
Thank you for bringing my hopes up then instantly and cruelly smashing them :sigh:

Are your hunters set to use crossbows? Are there actually any animals around? Does your woodcutter not have an axe? Just same basic things.
They should, unless they just randomly dropped them. Yeah, they all still have their weapons.
Just no bolts. And I know we do have plenty

I make mine like the Gallente, aesthetically pleasing in all ways.
I make mine like a Pre-Schooler. With no plan what so ever.

FUUUUUU damn hippos

Loving them phallic ships, eh?
Loving them phallic ships, eh?
Its a possibility.
A dwarven caravan arrived at my fort, and one of the wagons is going slllloooooooowwwwww as hell. What's up with that? Crippled horses? Unreasonably heavy cargo?
[editline]08:23PM[/editline]
Actually I just checked, and it's just a little bit of metal bars and meat. That shouldn't make it so sllloooowwwww
