One of my guys died and left behind crap which I believe is repeatedly breaking out into Miasma. How would I get rid of it
His corpse. Make a coffin in a mason's workshop and use b-n to place it somewhere (like a tomb you dug out). The dwarves will bring the corpse and the pieces there where it won't create miasma.
One of my jewlers withdrew from society and only grabbed one rough tsavorite for his job. Turns out he made one perfect tsavorite, which is worth 72,000 dorfbux. It has an image of the ruler of the dwarven capital ascending to leadership of the civilization in the year 1. That's better than I imagined it would be.

Of course, I love legendary armorsmiths/weaponsmiths more. Can you encrust something with it?
I can't. :/ But that would be pretty incredible. It could do the job of making my baron very happy about his room

Imagine a Dwarven Champion charging in to battle with that sort of sword. That's the stuff legends are written about. :v:

I have empty barrels in a furniture stockpile and all my stone stockpiles are full, but even after setting max barrels for the stone stockpile, they just continue filling them all up without using the barrels. What did I do wrong?
Hehe, after thinking about the next update and that little massacre I had in that town, my bronze battle ax would probably become a legendary weapon.
You can encrust weapons with gems. I'm planning on doing that with one of my Champions (I'd consider him a Paladin for my Fortress.)
Just wait for the new version when you have a semi-artifact weapon and you engrave it with Diamonds or something :v:

:gonk: Where do I put all of this shit that I dug up?

Do I use bins? [editline]02:16AM[/editline] You'll have to excuse me, I have no clue what I'm doing.
No. You designate it for dumping and you put it in a 1x1 dump pile.
Do I use bins? [editline]02:16AM[/editline] You'll have to excuse me, I have no clue what I'm doing.
Let me try and elaborate on what they are saying. First off never ever make stone stockpiles. Its completely unnecessary ,because they are always filled and they are just ughhh. Second getting rid of stones are easy just build a mason's shop and build stuff that you need Tables/Chairs/doors etc. Eventually they all go away (you might need some furniture stockpiles for em though you don't want your workbenches to get cluttered or else they will work slower).Thirdly as the above user said you should dump them. just press the d-b-d in that order and select what you want dumped the stones is what your going for. Careful not to select anything you don't want dumped. Now that you have selected them you need to select a set an area to dump them in just choose one square in a corner somewhere and press the i key. Finally press the g key to make it a garbage dump. Now all your dwarfs should start picking up the stones and dumping all of them in one square. Oh I almost forgot once they are all in the one square make sure to unforbid them all that means they will pick up stones from the pile when they need it ,and bam you now have all your stones neatly organized in one 1x1 tile. :eng101:
I don't understand, I haven't gotten a Trade Caravan yet. Could it be because a river runs roughly down the middle of the map? Or is it the legions of zombie/skeletal monsters that inhabit a Terrifying Mountain Range which covers around 1/2 the entire World Map?
lol another tentacle demon caravan came and both the merchants just jumped into my lava pipe haha, too bad they took all their goods with them.
wheres my update
I love playing as a tentacle demon. Trevor is an awesome name. The third final super undead demonic boss in Survival Crisis Z was named Trevor. Also, I added like 10 new bodies to the pile and got too many arrows stuck in me. Luckily it was nothing permanent or fatal. My lower body, pancreas, left kidney, and lower spine are all moderately wounded. My left arm, left middle tentacle, and my left middle claw are all broken.
Quick question: How were you able to play a Tentacle Demon? That sounds awesome. :v:
Why isn't it out yet? :saddowns:
Quick question: How were you able to play a Tentacle Demon? That sounds awesome. :v:
Modding. You could just open up the entity_default.txt and change the
[CREATURE:DWARF]
with
[CREATURE:TENTACLE_DEMON]
to turn all the dwarves in the world into tentacle demons, or you could create a whole new civilization for them that allows only you to play as one in Adventurer, but not in Dwarf Fortress mode. But I forgot how to do that.
With the souls stuff, can you give a specific creature a specific soul? Say, a Super-Duper Diablo Demon with no 'good' feelings whatsoever (as in it can't feel joy, happiness etc)
You can do that already with the spheres.
You can do that already with the spheres.
Please elaborate.
New devlog
Here's the March 1 report. http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=50341.0 A lot of the item weights were quite strange as I brought up before, so I overhauled the mass system so that things are more consistent and are at least internally represented using real world units. Tissue by tissue, my embark dwarves were between 43kg (short and incredibly skinny) and 122kg (broad-bodied and very fat). The little bits and severed pieces of arena critters are also weighed out appropriately with respect to missing parts, and trousers don't weigh a zillion whatevers anymore. Actually, the capital gamma (the weight/mass symbol) is a kilogram now, but we are still using the same symbol at this point.

Mission Status (Threetoe): Out of the woods the tiger shoots. The muscles of the prey animal ripple under its shining hide. Fangs bared, claws stretched out in the front, the Bay 12 Beast makes its pounce! What's this? A shackle around the rear paw? The funds! The funds are holding us back! The hungry wait is hard, but feed the beast and you will be rewarded. Programming Schedule (Toady One): As before, I've just got to keep working until it is clean enough to release. The main obstacles now that a lot of the crashes have been cleaned up are the military stuff, which buggy and frustrating for people, the 40d# merge and the hydra test (which may or may not be a main obstacle, depending on how badly the hydra dies). There are lots of other issues -- I'm not planning to address all of them (40d has ~500 open bug reports after all), but I need to handle a good portion of them.
Where's Toady from? It's very wise of him to not to use the imperial measurement system.
yaayy
So he'll release it if we make donations?
So he'll release it if we make donations?
No lol, that's just a joke. He's working on it hard whether he gets donations or not. It's still good to donate though, afterall he doesn't get his living from anything else.
