There's something oddly heart-warming about watching a Kobold Thief run away from 5 Marksdwarves, with arrows flying all around him/her.
In addition to height, I believe weight contributes to size. So the optimal warriors, from a genetic point of view, would be freakishly tall and morbidly obese. This will likely change in the future, when metabolism gets more solidly implemented, but for now that's your best bet.
Of course, you could just draft only the biggest dwarves instead.
I can't help but imagine an army of tall and incredibly fat champions.

When you're tall, you can weigh twice as much as a short person and still have a good body. You'd also have a huge weight advantage without having the sluggishness that comes with being morbidly obese.
My dad is tall, and if he were any shorter, I bet he'd get man boobs and other atrocities associated with being fat.
Tall people have all the luck ;D

You're tall and fat aren't you.

No, I'm tall and weigh about 75kg. Though I'm losing a LOT of weight, been working out intensively for the past 3 and a half months. I'm shedding a lot of fat and it's turning into muscle. Though I was never fat to begin with :)

Oh, and I'm 17. Around 180cm, most likely more. I've grown since I last measured (about 6 months ago)
I'm 175 centimeters tall and weight 45 kilograms and am weak as fuck.
I'm 184cm and ~60kg
I read in a magazine that fat gladiators were more likely to survive because of their body fat. :v:
59 Kilograms (130 pounds) and 185 centimeters (6 feet.)
The large majority of that is muscle, while the rest is stuff like organs, skin, bones, etc.
I'm 184cm and ~60kg
You're skinny. I'm just below recommended BMI, I'm 186 cm and ~69 kg.
I want all my hammerdwarves to be small and heavily obese.

I'm 183cm and 66kg. I thought I was overweight. Guess I have a few feminine instincts.
I read in a magazine that fat gladiators were more likely to survive because of their body fat. :v:
That's true. Gladiators usually put on huge amounts of weight to intimidate their adversaries as well as to protect them from wounds.

If a large majority of that was muscle, I'm sure you'd be heavier. Muscle is heavier than fat.

Nice. You're probably little bit smaller than me, but that depends on how old you are. Try and bulk up a bit, cause that is borderline skinny. If you aim to around 74kg, you'd be a good size and weight. Though like I said, if you're older than me, you're probably bigger, so you should keep at the weight you are I guess.
why on earth has this thread turned into a height/weight competition? o.0

How much do you weigh? Are you tall?
I'm currently working on adding Tentacle Demons as a playable fortress race. I've been doing a lot of editing, including religion spheres, etc.
If this works, it'll be awesome. :v:
I'm 5'4" (Fuck off, I'm American) and 120lbs, I'm really skinny, but most girls I know think that's hot, so I'm good..
I hope metabolism doesn't fuck with the military too much. I don't want to have to pick only the best of the best of the best dwarves, I want to be able to pick any dwarf and train them the way I want them.

I can foresee an incredibly tiny dwarf who owns entire sieges in his adamantine gear. Maybe they don't always have to be big.

And he shall be known as Urgotz Anklebiter. :v:

But, I can also see something like this:

Except, you know, more intimidating and that little brown thing would be a kobold thief and the guy would be correctly proportionally sized and you know.. the point is I can imagine this huge towering soldier, both fat and tall, taking up this entire hallway with his Adamantine armor

Darn you people and your strange way of measuring and weighing. I dont understand the concept of kg. :argh:

America should upgrade their measurements like, uhh, the rest of the world.

Dude, you're probably gangly looking. Damn. Also, girls think being skinny is hot till you go swimming in front of them or something. As soon as you take your shirt off and they see some corpse-like chest, they think it's hella ugly. Having the chest of a five year old is not hot to girls lol. Also, 120lbs, you're light as hell man.
Success. I have begun a Tentacle Demon fortress!
As you can all see, I'm tired of waiting for this stupid update. Hence why I'm talking about weight and height.
Is there any way to target a specific body part in Adventure Mode?
What's up ladies? Comparing sizes in the bathroom, are we?

Holy shit! This guy is supposed to be the leader of the expedition!? :suicide:
Also, major points for being a vegetarian Tentacle Demon. :v:
