Bloody hell, in my own little mod (Modern day type thing, mostly just renamed stuff really) all the megabeasts get fucked over so there are none left by the time I play. The same seemed to happen when I tried the Rome Fortress mod, within the first century tons of random heroes venture out and don't die then kill the beasts. Heck, not even a single named animal has survived... Maybe because I removed a ton of combat professions more people are using guns (crossbows and bows, I didn't even up the damage) or something?

Fuck, an orc siege raped both the halfling and dwarf caravans that were on my depot. A squad of crossbows. Worst kind. They had no chance.

So has this thread gone back to actually discussing Dwarf Fortress, No longer the bastard child of Steam forums and Facebook?

My web collector is perhaps the bravest dwarf in the entire fortress. He has to run past 3-4 Zombie Batmen and innumerable skeletal Naked Mole Dogs to get to an extremely rich area of silk spider webs (like, easily a hundred.) [editline]01:08PM[/editline] My fortress, Deadroughness (randomly chosen) in the Finger of Hell, will be forever grateful.

I saw a kid wearing a fedora at my school once. He was an anti-social, american-nazi, christian-nazi, republican-nazi, and only friends with two other anti-social kids. It went from my entire grade hating him all the way to the whole school hating him because he looked like some sort of douche. Of course, the next month a kid who was the complete opposite of the previous kid wears a fedora and he looks awesome.

Is there any way to keep so many of my minions from idling? I've usually got 20 idlers at any given time. :raise:

I'm about to start a human fortress. Any biome/constraint suggestions? Also, on an unrelated note, why don't people smile when taking photos any more?

Because since most people take their own photo for the internet there is nobody to tell them to "say cheese", thus the magic is lost. I can see my little mod being easily changed into a STALKER themed one. Has that been done yet?

Nothing like that at all. Massively deep City Management/RTS/RPG/Death Simulator. If you want a better explaination, spend the few minutes it takes to read the OP or the website or something.
