I'm hoping the lack of devlog means he's working full-time to finish up the game. [sp]I doubt it though, really.[/sp]
Ugh, two whole days without a devlog, I'm starting to go stark raving mad.
Release preps!
Can a dwarf live with one lung? One of mine got his lung red-level wounded in the last siege, and he's still in bed. Is he going to get better, or is he just going to be kind of retarded for the rest of his life?

This is what can happen. "Heavy Bleeding and becoming Winded. Possible suffocation depending on toughness and number of lungs pierced. Can only be mangled." -Dwarf Wiki
Well he's superdwarvenly tough, and it's one mangled lung. I bet he'll live, even if he'll breathe funny for a long time now.
...What?
Supertentacle demonly tough :v: [editline]02:14AM[/editline]
I'm hoping the lack of devlog means he's working full-time to finish up the game. [sp]I doubt it though, really.[/sp]
Probably not, he skipped like 3 devlogs from 2/26 till 3/1, so I doubt it..
I wish someone would attack so I could put my military to the test. I've been clear-cutting the area just to see if it would piss off the Elves, but no luck yet. :raise:
My dwarves' squad names are awesome my hammerdwarf squad (led by a wrestler champion) is called The Armored Dangers and my axedwarf squad is The Famous Axes Edit: the leader of The Armored Dangers is wearing an artifact steel right gauntlet called "Velvetage the High Strangulation". It's encrusted with native platinum and schist, and encircled with bands of native platinum and limestone. It menaces with spikes of native platinum and cave spider chitin (where the fuck did my armorer get this?) It's got an image of a sweet pod in steel, and an image of a pine in native platinum. She's covered it in goblin blood and dwarf blood.
Another Goblin Child-Snatcher tried to get in to my fortress. In consisted of him appearing, getting peppered with crossbow bolts, leaving a 7-square length, diagonal blood smear, and then getting mauled by one of my soldiers. I'm still waiting for some kind of siege. :colbert: [editline]10:50PM[/editline] Another Snatcher just got attacked by two Skeletal Foxes, killing one and being driven away by the other. What failures. :v:
I had a kobold that mannaged to lose both his arms and one leg, peppered with crossbow bolts. He was passing out every second but mannaged to escape the fort. [editline]10:01PM[/editline] Anyone elss who uses dwarf forest/mountain patrol: Assign two melee dwarfs, preferably hammer or axe with two crossbow dwarfs, then if needed have the crossbow dwarfs retreat while the melee dwarfs hold off any attackers that are overwhelming.
My dwarves' squad names are awesome
Mine all have either "crystal" or "wall" in them. The Walled Tools The Crystalline Pages (this is probably the coolest-sounding name of these) The Walled Gangs The Harmonious Crystals The Crystalline Bowels (what?)
"The Constructive Whim-Islands"
Let's see what mine are (There really aren't any "squads" at the moment. Everyone just does their own thing). The Declining Silences The Scabs of Righteousness The Acrid Galls of Merging The Eerie Lashes The Brutal Fogs The Whips of Stoking So on and so forth.
Any reason for it?
i cant get into it, it just seems so tedious
my champion was originally the leader of a squad of ten wrestlers her nine subordinates were shot to death by goblins in front of her eyes her leg was mangled, but she managed to drag herself to safety through the front entryway of my fort, leading the goblins into the field of fire of my ballistas then she fell into a coma for three years
I was plotting something the other day... Do you suppose it would be possible to make several self-sufficient forts on a single map space? There wouldn't really be any point to it, but couldn't you dig out one little fort with a group of 20 dwarves or so, then get another 20 on the other end of the map and give them a separate designated fort? I'm not sure what would be the point of doing this, but it might be a fun idea.

In the next version though you can add burrows and among other things you could probably do this with them.
Hey guys I haven't been following this thread too much as of late. Any word on when the new version will be released?
Hey guys I haven't been following this thread too much as of late. Any word on when the new version will be released?
yesterday Is it bad if I named my fort Axecrazy?
yesterday Is it bad if I named my fort Axecrazy?
Really? Their website says v0.28.181.40d, 5.5 MB, posted September 6, 2008 Was it released somewhere else? The reason I ask is because we seem to know so much about it yet their website seems to be pretty low key on it.
in front of my entrance is a cage linked to a lever it has six dozen war dogs and a tame black bear
After the dwarves murdered all my defenseless goblins, I settled a new area on the beach of an arctic ocean. Unfortunately, there's a cave north of my goblin's dwellings that is home to four giants.
in front of my entrance is a cage linked to a lever it has six dozen war dogs and a tame black bear
You should attach it to a pressure plate
I'm guessing that the new version haven't been released yet?
New devlog
Still cleaning things up -- after a day of speed stuff, I fixed the list of available metals for caravans/embark (there are always things missing like iron or things extra like adamantine), fixed some display issues with traction benchs, fixed a problem causing volcanic features to shift away from the reclaim area, stopped demon masters from fighting with their adopted civilians, fixed some text/problems in preferences screen ("likes (tree) fabric", "cow cow cheese", "likes ant bone")...

I'm guessing that the new version haven't been released yet?
If it would the thread would go batshit insane.
