oh god, my siege operator has a bunch of horses and dogs which seem to follow him - I had him set to ready to fire a ballista, if I had needed him to fire he would have killed like 3 of them.
Oh hey, I've been a lurker here for a few times and I felt like posting here. I also just began playing it with Orkel guiding me so far. :v: It's hard to understand what to do in the beginning, but I'm starting to get it now, using the video tutorial helps. My (fail) fortress just had its first trade caravan come in. Thank god for no orcs attack yet, using the Dig Deep mod like Orkel has.

Where is this video tutorial, because this game is looking like an insurmountable wall of menus. I wish this stuff had a GUI.

wow, talk about related. My dungeon master just arrived, and ive recently set my legendary clothier to spit out tons of clothing made using cloth from farming and the 100 or so I stole from the elves, including cloaks

Human diplomat walks into the booze chamber, where the baron is chugging away.
Baron leads the diplomat to his office where they conduct a meeting.

Baron seeks out a random stone scepter, carries it back to his room, and drops it on the floor.
Baron: Ah, much better. Now, what were you saying?
Human: Well I ought to be leaving now.

Oh god, I firstly abandoned my fort, flooding it with water. I kept digging into lakes, slowly draining them. When dug open a creek, water flew incredibly fast in. Alot of my dwarfs drowned because they got stuck, one way the water came in. The only other way was camped by Orcs, only above the surface. Two of my brave legendary miners dug deep for their freedom. Only to be stopped by lunch time. In the end I let the orcs inside, hoping they'd drown because of the high water. Because I dug the mine entrance right next to the surface, the water was flowing in the mine instead of the fort, allowing the orcs to murder my dwarfs. :crying:

This I usually mess up somehow around my 5th year and it always includes magma or water.
