I aggro'd some giant spider, and right about the same time, a conga line of 15 dorfs on ore hauling duty goes to the same level and same hall as the spider. All 15 plow into the spider, and they're all dead in about 5 seconds. The carnage drives one of the survivors beserk, and he goes on his own killing spree.

My dwarves are soo helpless... They keep on dieing of thirst as everytime the metalsmith make a new barrel, they fill it with plump.. thus blocking booze production..

You guys do realize that you can set a number of barrels to be saved for brewing (and other jobs that require empty barrels) by pressing 'p' then using * and /, right?
You can also reserve bins with + and -, but I don't think there are any jobs that use empty bins, so I'm not sure what that's for.
I'm living in a barren wasteland, and i got enough stone and silver that i made pretty much everything in my fortress out of granite or silver.. Wood on the other hand is as rare as adamantium..

I only embark on deserts or other treeless biomes if there is an underground river or pool.
Then you can have underground tower cap farms. In the next version you can find tower caps in underground mushroom caverns though.

lol, my dabbling surgeon just tried to perform surgery on an injured dwarf.. He ended up mangling his leg (it was a compound fracture..), then cutting it clean off.
The surgeon is still at dabbling status :saddowns:
And now you can target body parts for maximum pain! This new update is amazing.

Guys, what items of clothing should I have my clothier and leatherdwarf make so that my dwarves aren't walking around wearing rags
(I decided to build a clothiers shop because I have plenty of cloth and not too much leather anymore, and I don't really want it to be known as Windlanced the Fortress of Bondage)

Holy shit. I finally had an awesome Goblin siege. Two squads of Goblins with plenty of Crossbowman. There was a huge shootout in the entrance hall. I captured two Goblins (one got killed by a cat in his jail cell, from the original three). There's blood EVERYWHERE, and I only lost two Tentacle Demons. :v:
I'm on another computer right now, but once I can get mine on to the internet again, I'll post the awesome screenshot.
My strategy worked! My dwarves managed to pull the lever to open the cage with thirty war dogs in it just in time. An entire squad of goblins turned into (goblin chunk).
Did you say "release the hounds..." to yourself as you did it?
Damn it man. I was just thinking about how long it's been since the goblins waged a proper attack on me.
Then the dwarven caravan showed up.
Then goblins ambushed the liaison as soon as he stepped onto the map. He didn't stand a chance. Plus they nearly killed my champion who is wielding a massively valuable artifact spear.
