Got my hopes up for a second.
Toady estimated its release to be in around 15-18 days (25th-28th), let's hope it is right this time.
Oh fuck, I just realized something, introduction of poison means that blowguns will be fucking terrifying now, if coated in deadly poison, also arrows.
Unrelated note it would be fucking BADASS if you could "upgrade" dorfs, such as the adamantite skeleton mentioned earlier, or cutting off a dwarfs hands and replacing them with swords, the possibilities are endless! also practicing on captured enemies, cutting off an elf's limbs and attaching swords to them then catapulting them into the invading army, I almost wish toady would let the dorfs become more technologically advanced so we could have things like steampunk prosthetic arms.
I learned how to make alcohol at school today.
Now all I need are as following:
Someone to mine the cliff.

Some plants that are like plumb helmets.

A farmer, a mason etc.

A doctor willing to cut our legs from the knee and lower off.
This game gets a bit dull, when you have enough food and drink, perfect defenses, and all you have left to do is engrave every little bit of wall. I think I need to restart in a more dangerous place.

Or you can hire some short, hairy midgets to do all of the following.
oh and Fergeh just give it a second things don't go perfect in DF for long. You'll be up to your knees in magma, and dwarf blood in no time.
So, nobody answered me, can you build floodgates on floodgates?
[editline]12:06AM[/editline]
Nevermind, you can't.

I'm kind of thinking the same thing. A dragon came to my fortress and did nothing but kill one war dog. I'm actually better off thanks to that dragon because it gave me a bunch of meat and bones, and the dog can be eaten too.
It seems like "losing is fun" is gaining new meaning for me.
First I thought people say that because you're going to lose often and you've just got to get used to it.
Now I think maybe they say that because it's only when your fortress is lost that interesting things are happening.
I mean, it's fun at the beginning when you still have lots to do, but eventually the fortress just sorta "peaks" and everyone's happy and you're well-stocked with all kinds of supplies, and you're just waiting for shit to happen.
Well then, 15 days to go until adventure becomes a whole new.
Awesome.
And now one answered me about why im not getting any migrants.
I want bionic kobolds.
Capture them, chop off limbs.
Strogificate them.
KOBOLD ROBOTO!
But they would attack you, unless you could perform surgery on their brain.
Any ideas on how to create an epic entrance? I'm thinking the only way is a gigantic drawbridge :\
Gigantic drawbridge over a channel and statues nearby. And any caputred animals/enemies in cages near the entrance.
I just do an Orzammar style entrance.
So no one can help me with my migrant problem?
Created wealth:255,416
Im not in an unreachable spot.
And ive had no deaths
Can someone explain this article to me?

Is it just going on and on sarcastically calling microcline useful, or is there actually any kind of story about it?
Its rated D for Dwarf. Its a joke. Microline is just a normal stone like anything else. Dont worry you wont get HFS for it.

D for Dwarf articles are usually hilarious, and are either funny for the sake of funny, or sarcastically funny.
Microcline, without a doubt is the most worthless rock in the game. It has a dull symbol in the game, a dull color, worthless, and compared to other rocks, doesn't contain any sort of valuable metals/minerals/gems.

I think it has a pretty nice color. Really bright compared to the dull gray of all the shale and granite around it.
What makes it more useless than gypsum or orthoclase?
Its pretty dont get me wrong but like most rock it just clutters up everything. Its not really more useless than any other rock. (except for flux and stuff)

Oh god I fucking lol'd hard at that article.
Oh, and, for the entrance to my fort question I had before, it's an above-ground fort if that matters, so what would be an awesome fort entrance?
Just wanted to say once the update is released and we start an FP bloodline I demand we make a Mega Structure of the Facepunch Logo on a mountain.
[editline]02:34AM[/editline]
Over looking the Temple of Garry
Fuck im not creative and i cant do anything. Dont let me be one of the first years.
I will make the temple dedicated to the moon, completely decked out in silver (I don't care how long it takes us to trade with the mountain homes, it must be pure silver) and spanning multiple z-levels in the shape of a sphere (with floors). This will be our hospital, the location where our budding surgeons will practice [del]hacking elves apart for Dwarven science[/del] their art of medicine in our custom Morgue workshops, also made of pure silver, so that they may someday be good enough to save our legendary miner from an agonizing death in the very same temple.

Orthoclase looks like gold, thus it's better. :v:
Strange, I've got gather plants on and a lot of dwarves gathering, yet I never have any plants, and they're never hungry or thirsty, but i'm not making booze or food..
[editline]05:27AM[/editline]
Oh, I guess they eat the plants and drink from a nearby brook river.
So who's going to contribute to the Ark Project? Everyone should, it's badass.
