christ how expensive is that thing to make?

I creative'd it in for testing, but let's see... a fucklot, I'm not gonna count all of that up on my own. But the beauty of the whole 'modular' thing is you can omit parts or downgrade to make it cheaper. ...for example, if you ditch the shooter you can fit that into a standard hull and not have to use the dozen diamonds or whatever that an advanced one uses, while increasing capacity to boot. So I was playing with audiotori and decided to replace the enderman sounds with hunter sounds from HL2: Episode 2, and when an enderman spawned nearby, I nearly shit myself when I heard this unnatural, warped chuckling and the screech like moans, despite having hand picked the sounds myself. I highly recommend doing it.

When they added those Endermen noises, I was genuinely freaked out for the first time since Endermen were added. I thought it was part of a mod; I sat inside my hut thinking "What mod is that and what did I anger!?"

Has anyone noticed a massive drop in FPS since the newest version? I usually played tekkit, and from that build I got around 150fps. Now, i'm stuck at 40/50 and it's strange. It is definitely the version difference as when I go back to the tekkit build I get the 150fps I used to have.

What's the best mod pack these days? Alternatively, is there some way I can set up my own and send it to my friends so that they download it automatically instead of me having to RDP their computers and do it all by hand? (they're a bit dense) MindCrack, while overwhelming, was pretty good for the short stint that I played it so I'm wondering if I should just get FTB Ultimate and slap Optifine + Treecapitator and other little things like that on it.

The update broke bukkit and the addons so I disabled them and put the server on vanilla. Then I joined the server and my fps was waaaaaaay lower than it was the last time I played (before the update), it was evident the second I looked around.

Speaking of enderman sounds, I wish they would fix the alert sound. It plays when you hover your mouse over them, not when they are angry at you.

I've tried voltz and tekkit. They are both good in their own ways, but feed the beast seems awesome.

In vanilla, I have major texture salting and FPS drops. From about 120 or 130 down to a fluctuation of 25-80. It's crazy.

Ok, what the hell. I patched MC with MCPatcher, installed a shader mod and......nothing. Did I do something wrong?

Take down the MAXIMUM LIGHTING setting or whatever it is. It takes a huge hit on your FPS but kind of only fixes the upside-down stairs and slabs going dark.

Me and my friend are playing but he he got a huge fps drop after updating 1.5. He had over 100fps and now he has like 15-30fps. What should he do? EDIT: I just noticed that i've got a fps drop too, ive had like 150-180 usually and after the update i have like 50 fps.

I think they should throw all the universal electricity stuff in there too

It tried altering the lighting but no luck. Tried updating java too.

Ok, so I was exploring an unexplored corner of my world, and I come across a lava pool in dangerous proximity to some trees in the forest. The second I arrive on the scene, I witnessed the beginning of a scene that would make Smokey Bear flip a table. Only you can prevent forest fires; just don't load a chunk that has a lava pool in the middle of a forest. Also, has anyone been experiencing framerate issues with the latest patch? I have for some reason, hopefully not my machine, since it was fine a week or so ago. Also also, I kinda hope that they do more kinds of villages in the next patch, like forest villages or boreal villages, and make the villagers look like they fit with the region, like desert villagers wearing veils, boreal villagers wearing thick furred clothing, etc.

So begins the slow crawl of mod updates for 1.5... I'm happy that a fair number of the mods I use are updated, but unfortunately I also use a lot of heavy-duty ones like Thaumcraft and Twilight Forest. I hope they don't take forever.

Thinking of starting an Earth based factions server again. I need some funds but once I get my money I'll be up and running. For those of you who remember this will be the third attempt at running Earthcraft, who would be interested in playing?

So I found that optifine gives a boost of around 30fps. However this needs sorting out.

just figured I'd ask for some help in here before making a whole thread; My minecraft keeps getting stuck on a black screen straight after the Mojang splash, I have just have Forge and xtrabiomes at the mo, and I'm on the most recent update

You'll have to wait a week or so, popular mods usually update pretty fast.
