Yeah, I meant all the buildings and all our inventories and progress we've made and everything. The idea being that we would leave all our worldly possessions behind, and set out on the oregon trail to find a new promised land. But we'd still want to have the ruins of our former civilization present in case we got nostalgic.
You would think posting mods that intentionally crash your game would be against the mcf rules or something, christ.
There's a new RPG modpack that has DivineRPG already in it.
FTB has DivineRPG but I also want tale of kingdoms.

You could make a backup of the world to test what happens.
FTB has DivineRPG but I also want tale of kingdoms.
You could add it in manually and see if it works.
You could add it in manually and see if it works.
I did, and it does work. Does anyone know what mod lets you keep your items on death? Captain Sparklez has one but none of the mods he shows he is using does that.
It's not a mod, its a command you can use native to minecraft. keepinventory its called I think
Ah, thanks.
Ah, thanks.
I don't know if you can run it straight from the chat box but I know for sure you can toggle it using a command block.

Apparently the site where FTB hosts its actual files is down. I'm trying to download the ultimate pack now, and instead of downloading the latest version, like it says it's going to, it just loads up vanilla minecraft.
I made a small mistake in FtB. I decided to build my house and I used NEI to cheat in some materials because I'm lazy. I accidentally put in an arcane door and I can't get rid of it. Anyone know of a solution?
Creative mode,or try removing the block under it
just learned of yet another mod with a mentally challenged dev: IC2. they have a DRM that disables proper IC2 functionality in about 90 modpacks. the author even boasts about it. he's really proud of his DRM.
Have you seen the guy's own contributions to the IC2 wiki? For some bizarre reason, he inserts HAYO into every sentence possible. Kinda worrying to me that his oddness is not limited to verbal tics, but utter retardation as well; makes me feel rather bad about enjoying the mod :c
What is with minecraft mods and adfly? I've never seen anyone use adfly for anything other than minecraft mods, texturepacks, etc.
I've wondered about that as well. Not a single other modding site i've been to has ever used that.
Well, creeperrepo is still down. Is there anywhere else I can download the ultimate pack? I tried googling this but a whole lot of really sketchy shit came up. Wait never mind I think it actually is downloading.
Damn it Sengir... [editline]18th March 2013[/editline] You all have my word, I'm never implementing this DRM shit. At least not at such an extreme level.
i told you, bro. if you guys use Railcraft get this: There's no such DRM disablers for other mods afaik
Tell me which mods have the DRM, and I might be able to do something. Depends if I can get things working on this computer.
Hello.
IC2 might be rather easy, Never dabbled with Gregtech before though, might take me a bit of time. I'll see what I can do for you.
IC2 might be rather easy, Never dabbled with Gregtech before though, might take me a bit of time. I'll see what I can do for you.
IC2's medium-difficult until you accidentally hook your machines up to the wrong voltage. Then it's rage-inducing. BuildCraft and its derivative mods (Forestry, Thermal Expansion, RailCraft) are easier to learn since there is no immediate (sans Thermal Expansion's redstone energy cell) and cheap method of power storage; it's all to be used right then and there. If you're going to dabble into GregTech, you're best to start your world off using Thermal Expansion machines. They're run on BuildCraft power and have the same, if not better, effects than IC2 machines. The pulverizer has a percentage to return a dust of another ore, the sawmill can make two extra stacks of planks from a stack of logs. The aqueous accumulator (best in some water) can keep your combustion engines cooled and your RailCraft boilers quenched. The magma crucible can melt cobblestone and netherrack into lava (and ender pearls into liquid ender and redstone into liquid redstone). The liquid transposer can fill and extract your cans/capsules/tesseract frames/energy cell frames. There are more machines to Thermal Expansion, and all on BuildCraft power. My best bet with a workhouse is a RailCraft boiler with steam engines (not TE's steam engine). I personally have a RedPower windmill power a sugar cane farm (with part of the reaping head harvest/plant wheat), sort it out to their respective factories (wheat goes with dirt to make compost, sugar cane goes straight to a fermenter). Instead of sugar cane, you can do all wheat and autocraft most of it into plantballs (IC2) and a small portion into compost. Plantballs do four times the amount of biomass than wheat, but only double the amount of a sugar cane. With sugar cane, one square meter of sugar cane (grown completely) can supply the biomass of one plantball (two canes, 0.2 * 2 = 0.4 = one plantball). If you're one of those weirdos who still lives in the past with a cactus farm, a cactus block makes a good alternative to a sugar cane. The biomass is then refined (BuildCraft refinery preferred, jumpstart with external power for now) into biofuel, a weaker alternative to fuel at 5MJ/t (combustion engine compared to fuel's 6MJ/t). Keeping an aqueous accumulator (two water sources touching its sides) piped to a boiler, the biofuel can then be pumped into a boiler to make steam of the water. From that point, you're up to your own for the steam. I pipe it to some engines (commercial steam or industrial steam recommended) and hook those to a redstone energy conduit (TE, they never blow up from power buildup from lack of power use). Leaving the engines on and on the conduit will result in hopefully never-ending power source that will never blow up from too much power. If you have to use conductive pipes instead of a conduit, plop a thermionic fabricator somewhere at the end of the line to absorb the rest of the MJ so the pipes don't blow up. Holy crap, I didn't think I'd actually manage this word wall. Anyway, if you're still in need of EU, same thing except instead of hooking the steam from the boiler to engines, use it in a steam turbine to generate EU from it. The steam turbine that goes into the housing will take several days (real-time) of constant use before breaking and requiring replacement. RedPower windmills seem to be just as durable, as I have yet to have one break on me. Mind that the steam turbine will generate 100EU/t (MV). Gold cables can handle that kind of voltage but have very terrible energy losses.
Me and a friend are trying to play with FTB. Both have windows 8 computers with most likely identical hardware. We both downloaded the FTB launcher, Both got to download the files but when we launch. I can launch and he crashes with the following error. Even when I give him my entire installation he still crashes with the same fckin error. If anyone knows how to fix this I'd appreciate it. This fucking shit has been annoying me for too long

Can you play Minecraft on Windows 8? When did Jeb_ add that?
Can you play Minecraft on Windows 8? When did Jeb_ add that?
Why would it be a problem? It depends on Java
Why would it be a problem? It depends on Java
Yeah, okay. I just think I heard somewhere that there were problems with the OS. Huh.
Yeah, okay. I just think I heard somewhere that there were problems with the OS. Huh.
I played minecraft perfectly fine the day I installed Windows 8, which was as soon as it became available for purchase.
He may have been talking about an incident between Mojang and Windows where Notch disliked some of the ideas that Windows 8 came up with. Can't exactly remember at the top of my head what it was though.

So you can't buy minecraft in the w8 app store. A horrible loss, I know
