Well to make a comprehensive control system for a frame quarry you need: A command to pulse the redstone for each engine pair A command to pulse the redstone for the block breakers A command that does those in sequence a set number of times
Well to make a comprehensive control system for a frame quarry you need: A command to pulse the redstone for each engine pair A command to pulse the redstone for the block breakers A command that does those in sequence a set number of times
Test #1, Client: Computronic Laboratories. Sir Cyclade. Over the top just to handle a single-axis quarry? Sure. Shipment of the IO expander finally came in. Another success of the Forestry Postal System. A letter came in with the suggestion of more words to modularize the announced reaping head control system. To answer some questions... 1) The system planned makes use of the recently-shipped IO expander, along with a manual of FORTH words for it, including IOXSET (set) and IOXRST (reset). Ribbon cable goes in, bundled cable goes out. Split from the bundled cables are WHITE and ORANGE wires, which lead to the individual motors. 2) The block breakers (reaping head) are external to the system. The system is intended to be activated on a press of a button. Wireless recievers will be necessary for the head. Signal goes from reciever to NOT gate to timer, which activates redstone tube frames. 3) The system is also planned to have a variable amount of distance for the motors to move the reaping head. It also presumes one is using a long arm for the head (not using block-breakers and deployers to remove and replace frames). If I can find it possible to write words with parameters and my newb-level FORTH knowledge to be correct, then 21 FARM will be my expected parameter for a 21m farm. Plus it would help with sales on servers if someone appreciates the RPC 8/e as much as I do. (Don't shoot me, it's sort of fun doing this roleplay stuff sometimes.) [editline]eer3wrfwrf[/editline] Hour 3: Screw it, I'll try some BASIC. [editline]ffffffff[/editline] Hour 5: [t]http://i.imgur.com/9R0bC9T.png[/t] I swear, this thing is an abomination from the Nether! [editline]fadfaw[/editline] This is probably more than most people are willing to do on any server. Gather wood? Okay. Deal with Greg's atrocious nerfs? Check. Deal with FORTH? Good luck convincing anyone to do that. [t]http://i.imgur.com/mvlYVJw.png[/t]
Turning off instability in Mystcraft, though cheaty, really makes me enjoy it a lot more. I like exploring randomly generated ages and that isn't so fun when you're getting motion sickness and are being attacked from all sides while being struck by lightning. The first age I generated with instability off was a huge ocean biome where it's always night. Before I would have been panicking and throwing linkbooks around to get me out before half the stuff has even rendered but I just thought to myself "I could totally make a cabana bar here."
Once I made a random age in order to find some pages, I ended up in a very shallow endless ocean, the water was only a few blocks deep oddly enough. On top of that there was no instability which I found odd, so I grabbed my boat and threw it in the water and moved away from the platform, soon after I hear a massive explosion fallowed by smaller ones. I turn back to see a huge crater where the platform once was, soon many asteroids fallowed afterwords.
I didn't know where to ask really and don't want to create a new thread. Recently I came back to Minecraft (just some days ago) and it was quite some time since I last played it. Now I am hosting a server as I did before, and it feels like Minecraft is even more unstable then it was before. My players get everything from weird delay, to end of stream disconnects, to other kind of disconnects and such. It's like a packet loss is happening pretty often. Why? I don't remember having these problems last time I hosted a server. I have a good enough computer and good enough internet to supposedly host a server for 30 people + me. (according to this http://canihostaminecraftserver.com/). We're only 4 people in total that is playing, so I don't see me overextending my preformance/brandwidth. I am not running any mods at the moment or any texture packs(on the server). Any help would be appreciated.
Didn't see it posted in the past three pages, so here we go. This was created in creative mode on the Xbox. Yikes.
Server owners: How much do you pay a month for your servers and what are the specifications and what are you running (factions, tekkit, ftb, etc)? I'm trying to get a minecraft server but I don't want to over spend. Also please say what host you are using. Thanks. Every update adds more and with the same janky optimization we get even less performance. I have a computer with an above average graphics card and above average processor with 9 gigs of ram and since the last update, minecraft started dropping FPS on me. I went from 200+ fps stable to 60-10 since the last few updates. It's embarrassing when the top (albeit stock) computer of the last two years can't even run minecraft with mods and optimizers.

It did well enough.
EDIT - Yeah, My internet is too slow today....sorry for lateness.
So is it just me or are hoppers in vanilla minecraft the most stupid/ugly implementation of piping possible?
If it's called an IO Expander, shouldn't it be able to handle I as well as O? [editline]Whoops[/editline] Whoops. It does. 1 IOXSET set white wires on (lights in this case), and a separate lever handling an orange wire checking as input. (Setting lights/white wire on via 1 IOXSET.)
IOX@ . 1
(Turning on lever on orange wire, decimal value 2 (second bit position) of wire, wire state in decimal is now added to 3.)
IOX@ . 3

So is it just me or are hoppers in vanilla minecraft the most stupid/ugly implementation of piping possible?
A bit it's pretty clunky, I wish there was an opposite version of it as well, one where I can say where I want to get stuff from. Because currently, most solutions I can come up with are pretty damn inefficient.

Does anybody know if there's any FTB custom packs that revolve around peaceful things and farming? I really want to set up a farm.
Does anybody know if there's any FTB custom packs that revolve around peaceful things and farming? You can set up automatic farms without massive arrays of piping and machinery, just a smart straw golem and a wood golem can do the job easily. That, or Forestry which is basically making a ton of machinery to farming if that's your thing. Adds new types of farming too, bees and tree breeding, and a whole bunch of new items you can get as a result of it.

Anyone using the Ultimate FTB pack should be using a quartz grind stone before they get their pulverizer. If you can stand the tedious manual labor of clicking a crank several times per ore, then it's your go-to device. [editline]Oh dear.[/editline] I really need to be more careful or install an 8K RAM module if I wasted almost 1/5th of allocated space (used 187 bytes out of 1142 bytes) to a header.
I decided to try out FTB for the first time. I've never tried a huge mod pack before, this is fucking incredible. I chose the Yogcraft pack because it seemed like that had everything I wanted with a couple extras thrown in. Also I found a random dungeon and got this: Awesome. Seriously, this pack is fucking great.
I am really enjoying divine rpg and tale of kingdoms. About to start expanding my kindgom.
If anyone's interested in building some desert themed structures or just want a large nice looking desert world I generated this world ages ago using an old third-party program in order to build ancient-egyptian themed structures on it, here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?i3676z9yq1bda3k [editline]22nd March 2013[/editline] Just try not to get lost in it, happened to me many times.
So I decided to try out mystcraft a little, first world was nothing much, a floating island, a giant tree, 5k creepers condenses in the same area, so I got right fucking outa there. So, next world, Notice the generation is taking its time... Go check on the server window, completely frozen. Eventually I just had to cut java.exe, hoping it wouldnt corrupt. Go back in, find this [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4249868/iunno/oh.png[/t] If the image doesn't show it correctly, It seems to be several giant caverns layered ontop of eachother, looking like the surface, this is like layer 1 out of 5, there seems to be a top (which can be seen in the corner). This is fucking sweet (though, I did forget a linking book back....)

When I generated a land like that and walked a bit, I had to force close minecraft because it ran my memory to 100%. That might have been because Rei's minimap reportedly has a memory leak, but I'm not sure.

Better waypoint system and player radar as well.

One thing I do like about Zan's minimap, though, is the cave mode.
Are there any decent mod tutorials out there? I'm playing FTB Ultimate and I'm overwhelmed, I've got a pulverizer + powered furnace etc going but I've no idea what else to do my chests are full of these things that I don't understand and oh god I'm running out of chest space and why can some people fly but I can't and how come I keep getting poisoned by bees why is everything shit

Still not quite sure what I'm supposed to texture, get on Steam bro.
Ladles, please, contain your liquids [sp]sorry[/sp]
I just started playing this and I know I'm crazy late, but if any of you haven't seen it yet Deep Space Turtle Chase is amazing. It's a sci-fi themed total conversion. All the notes are voiced in game, and theres a soundtrack which follows the plot.
[editline]22nd March 2013[/editline] Still some work to do on this one.
