This tree, I want to set it on fire. Or build on, in, under, or around it.
Anyone know where I can get lots of "generic" minecraft skins (preferably ones that might be seen on a battlefied) that aren't associated with anyone in particular? In truth, I'll need about 20. Rest I can do with my own editing.

Setting up a 1.7.3 beta server!
1.7.3 ? What are you talkn about
1.7.3 ? What are you talkn about
Because in most people's view, that was the last point before minecraft started it's gigantic feature creep.
1.7.3 ? What are you talkn about
I'm talking about 1.7.3 beta. [editline]27th March 2013[/editline] So I'm looking for an old xauth version that works on 1.7.3 beta, but I can't find it for the life of me, maybe by chance someone has it laying around? [editline]27th March 2013[/editline] nvm
I just re-found my old pics. And realized that at one point during the pre-release, the world gen was pretty fucking awesome at some places. Extra Biomes adds them back in and they're something that I think should really be in the normal game, if only to add to the variety in biomes.

http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1256895 Just to spread awareness of this thing, maybe you guys could vote on this (ratings :v:) poll?
I think that it was like that for only a few updates though.
It was there because Notch hadn't finished coding in snowy biomes yet. But it was still pretty neat to see.
It was there because Notch hadn't finished coding in snowy biomes yet. But it was still pretty neat to see.
You can sometimes go on a snow-nuke-spree and get it to look like that but when it rains, you are fucked.
Why did Notch change the terrain gen?
Because he's swedish and can only comprehend fjords
I prefer the old texture pack system. Seperate sprites? I'd rather have them all on one sheet. Easier to work with then.
I prefer the old texture pack system. Seperate sprites? I'd rather have them all on one sheet. A bigger sheet would've made things easier for texture pack artists and probably would've required less coding than making everything into individual sheets. I literally make the non-1.5 textures in the original format and then use the unsticher, working with so many things open at once is a chore.

Is it alright to advertise my server on this thread?
But this is better because you can have resolution and animation be separate for every single texture.
I don't see why you'd want the first, and the second could be done using MCPatcher/Optifine. It's nice that's doable in vainilla, but I think the negatives overpower the positives using this system, IMO.

I have an idea I'm working out: Would it somehow be possible to have thaumcraft golems that constantly keep IC watermills filled with buckets of water? As far as I know, the only golems that can fill a bucket with water are the tallow golems, and the only things they can empty the water into are crucibles. So maybe this idea isn't possible. I could just submerge my water mills in water, but that's more boring.

Or the details of a block are 32x32, but the rest is 16x16. It's not about absolutely needing those features, it's about them being available and what the community can do with them.
I hate how some mods just make their textures like 64x64 when I'm using default textures. It ruins the feel.
If you don't have the effort to edit separate files you probably don't have the effort to make a texture pack to begin with.
If you don't have the effort to edit separate files you probably don't have the effort to make a texture pack to begin with.
It's much more convenient to have everything in one file. The texture pack unstitcher I posted works wonders, though.

For all the modders here (or those interested in modding) Searge (creator of MCP) is hosting a 96 hour ModJam starting at 7PM GMT. The winner gets to play on a server with the MCP team for a day. I'll definitely be entering. [editline]28th March 2013[/editline] Come join us in #ModJam on irc.esper.net if you're thinking of participating.
They really should have got the Forge team to create the mod API instead of whoever they have now (It was the Bukkit team if I remember correctly?).
