The problem I have with the horses in the new update, is that they will probably be a more dumbed down version of the horses from mo' creatures, a mod that has been here since the beta of Minecraft.
Heck, even the models look fairly similar.

Holy shit, you mean a model of a horse looks fairly similar to a model of a horse?
It'd be interesting if there were different advantages and disadvantages to having a pig or a horse. Like a horse is faster and more easily controlled, but skittish, and it runs away from the undead.
Pigs are slow and hard to control, but they'll charge into a zombie fine, simply because they're too goddamn stupid to comprehend that a zombie is dangerous.
I quite like this. If they add horses, they need some kind of disadvantage.
Would have been cooler to make a vehicle than to find a horse in the wild.
Boats are still the pathetic and haven't changed much since notch threw them in.
A hot air balloon or something along those lines would have been preferred.
A legged minecart that runs on coal. :v:
Oh man, making a mechanical walker out of a minecart would actually be pretty cool.
I just opened up my first world I made in minecraft (well technically my second, but my mud-hut-on-a-beach world was lost during a powercut)
I made a fucking aqueduct across a valley because I wanted to make a farm :v:
What to do with this plague.

Using the the "recreate world" feature I can see just how much time I've wasted on this save

So, I went to update my server to update Bukkit and plugins and, uh, it seems my sister's been breeding the animals a bit:

There are less pigs because you need to kill them to get anything useful from them, I guess.

The problem with Mo' Creatures is that every single animal in it is overcomplicated beyond belief. I remember when people were saying that cats would be like Mo' creatures', which are basically cat simulators that serve no purpose in the long run, but instead, they ended up being exactly like dogs, except they scared creepers away instead of participating in combat. This is probably what horses are going to be, not because Dinnerbone/Jeb will code them from scratch, but because nothing in Minecraft is complicated at all, at least not like Mo' Creatures.
Also, the model looks similar for 2 reasons:
1. Mojang has the right to borrow the code from any modification made for the game, even without asking for permission.
2. It's a freaking horse.

ae is the coolest shit
can autocraft pretty much everything
You know when you think about how we've got user-made game launchers for minecraft that support their own install directories, that can switch between mods on the fly, and all that.
It's fucking embarrassing how minecraft itself still just downloads/stores/runs all of its shit from the appdata folder. Like even ignoring the modding ability.

Fucking awesome, sad that it is a lil bit buggy still.

This is pretty damn cool.
Custom technic modpacks are the shit. Has anyone else tried out "AKB's Modpack"?
It's really good.
Hey guys, look what I found. Minecraft terrain would be pretty cool if parts of it were more like this, huh?

It uses "Simplex Noise" apparently.
Upgraded my boiler control system to use a computer and a gate reader.
If the topmost redstone energy cell is full, it waits 15 seconds, then checks to see if it's still full. If it is, the steam engines shut down and the liquiducts to the steam overflow tank open. Once the cell's not full anymore, shuts the vents and turns the engines back on. Either way it waits out the minute before checking again. I might rig it to check the state of my lava tank and top it off if I've got excess power, but I won't bother setting that up until I've finished automating the compost production from my normal farm's output, freshly-hooked into the tube network.
Also got the wires all nice and hidden in the cieling for the most part, I'm happy with it
Do you guys remember Minicraft? Notch's old Ludum Dare entry?
Well there's a site to play mods of it now, since the sourcecode was released.
http://playminicraft.com/
Check it out.
I'm considering working on my own texture pack. No theme, just my artstyle.

Am I the only one that thinks Minicraft is more fun than Minecraft?
(Keep in mind fun =/= entertainment)
Compost production automated. Treefarm expanded so sapling production remains adequate. Overflow measures in place. Steam engine control state now gets broadcast by rednet for display on screen on my main floor. The monitoring program also lets me know if my lava tank is full.
...
I really need something to use all of this power/steam/lava on now
Notch is up for Time's top 100 influential people of 2013. What the fuck.

I think he's a meh developer and stuff, but the game has really taken off.
(HIPSTER ALERT)
I was one of the first 1,000 people to order it, back when there was just like grass and stone and no day/night and such. The maps weren't infinite and of course no multiplayer. I was actually in one of the very first alpha multiplayer tests. It took me over an hour to wait in line, click on the server over and over. I guess it wasn't worth it, it was sooo glitchy. On the first public release, your inventory wouldn't even save. In fact, every release that added something was broken. Mobs were extremely broken at first.
/HIPSTER
Hehe I remember when there weren't any chests and you had to throw all your stuff in a hole to store it:v:
or the persister program you needed to save your inventory...
Throwing tools on the ground to repair them.
I vaguely recall that fire could smelt things, man that was years ago.
Throwing tools on the ground to repair them.
oh man i remember that
i also remember being on a server that said in the rules "BE LEGIT AND DON'T USE THE DROP AND REPAIR GLITCH" and i was like "sure okay" and I did it anyways.
Throwing tools on the ground to repair them.
Man, this shit is like beyond ancient history to me. I came 'round just before minecart boosters were nixed and I played the "classic" free version before that. Man...
Or where you could duplicate items just by moving them around in chests.
But there was also a chance you'd lose the item.
Remember when you could press G and Steve would appear? I miss those simple things, that, and the old world gen, tiny hills with small streams, islands.

Should I continue?
