I already read the developers commentary in it's entirety. I blame the ARG, but now I've read the commentary, I feel I am ready to thoroughly enjoy Portal 2.
It was therapeutic really, reading all the spoilers.

They have the power to make up a fake reason for an early release ANY SECOND, like "oh you clever guys mde it to the secret amount of potatoes that triggers instant calculations" or whatever excuse and I'm sure no one who helped all the time would be angry, but rather relieved.
I expected a little bit more than a ~16 hour boost.
