Well they weren't really united, once the crusade/heresy was on it's way they returned to stabbing each other in the back (like the Chaos gods always do).
Yes, the Emperor kicks ass, but we don't get to play as him in the game anyways (nor do we get to use him in tabletop).
Also the Chaos gods don't really care that much about the material realm, even the Horus Heresy was just a small (and very short) distraction from the way more important (for them at least) Great Game.
Yes once it was on its way, after their Champion was utterly annihilated.
Even if the don't care, well, that magnitude of power/favour by all 4 gods towards one champion has not been done since, or probably before either, it was unprecedented.
and in this case, they did, because, if Horus killed the Emperor, the entire Imperium would have fallen to Chaos.
Yeah but Horus was outright obliterated, not even the favour of ALL the chaos gods united saved him.
The Emperor took on a Champion of Chaos Undivided, that's about as much of a fuck you that you can do to the Ruinous Powers.
You do understand the Magnitude of that don't you? since it's a rare thing that two chaos gods find each other agreeable enough not to send their minions out to slay the others, let alone all 4 agreeing on and favouring a single champion.
Well it's pretty easy to imagine that considering Horus could have killed the Emperor, but the next best thing happened, so the Chaos gos weakened humanity, just not as much as wanted.

If Humanity had gone extinct, Chaos would have disappeared from the Galaxy. So Alpharius had the right idea.

Indeed, it was unprecedent, and the Chaos gods most probably underestimated the Emperor greatly (I'm betting they got pretty surpirised (and scared) when he destroyed Horus' soul in the warp).
And I think that most will agree that no single character kicks as much ass as the Emperor.
And if the Emperor dies, he gets reborn in the warp and destroys Chaos so either way it's all good.

Considering the Emperor wasn't even trying during the fight. Horus was giving the equivalent of a slap fight, then he killed a guardsman or something, the Emperor got pissed off and smote his ass.
Fuck the Chaos.
I want my Imperial Guardsmen!
Only multiplayer that is fun is 1v1. The rest is crap :c
I want basebuilding.
DoW2 is going to be like the Sims, tiny expansions adding races that should have been in the original game.
Oh well, DoW1 is lightyears better.
I find the lack of Fluff disturbing.
WOW WHAT THE FUCK FUCK THOSE FUCKING FUCKER FUCKBAG CHAOS SHITFUCKS
GIVE ME MY FUCKING GUARD, REAL MEN.
/rage
Am I the only one that would prefer if they made a DoW that followed a real story/event/character/whatever in the 40k lore? Honestly I couldn't care less about the Blood Ravens, let me play as a real chapter with real characters. Maybe make a game that follows the events of a Dark Crusade? Or some big Waaagh?
They are a real Chapter, mentioned in fluff, although they are annoying.
Hell, DOW2 as the Battle for Maccrage would have been better.
I don't actually want to see Imperial Guard in DoW2.
After seeing 3 man space marine squads anyway.
Where's my Guard and Tau?

obviously you've never seen a clustefuck of ten-man guard squads vs your piddly spess mereenz
Chaos Factions not Gods, since you're playing as the followers of the Gods not the Gods themselves.
What this guy said.
Also, wouldn't know about being able to be converted to Chaos, I don't think Relic's mentioned much about stuff like that just yet. Hopefully though, we'll hear more from them as time goes by.

Also for those of you who want more than 3 man Space Marine units in your DoW2, I have 3 words for you:
Advanced Skirmish Mod
Where's my Guard and Tau?
Back on Kronus.

Blood Ravens were created because Gamesworkshop wouldn't let THQ add to the fluff of other chapters. Blood Ravens are retards, they don't have their own primarch (why do people think that!?!?!)
Clearly Sanguinius and Corax had a baby chapter :P

Oh and I love more people disagreed with me (than agreed) on my post on the first page, but more people agreed with the post below mine that said the same thing? What?

Way to make sense there, facepunch

Nae, those events are hammered down in fluff, and I wouldn't want to play something that left me knowing exactly what would happen next.
Though I really wish they'd made the bloody Guard, and not focused on the damned Traitor Legions, there are huge swathes of chaos besides that. Traitor Guard, Cultists (The Lost and the Damned as they're known) and of course the Daemons. Creating a faction devoted to each of the Gods is a good step forward (Does this mean we'll be seeing Emperor's Children? And Tzeentch's Legion, the ones that are essentially posessed sets of power armour?), but I really wish they'd use cultists/traitor guard and give us our IG to fight them with. Or even, use the small scale of DoW II to it's advantage and focus on an Inquisitorial Warband, either Hereticus or Malleus (SoBs or Grey Knights as elite units, since Chaos are the foes)
Edit:
Also, is anyone able to get scans of the article?
They better include Chaos Guardsmen.
They better include Chaos Guardsmen.
HAHAHAH don't make me laugh.
They better include Chaos Guardsmen.
They might aswell include Chaos children
They might aswell include Chaos children
Nurglings > kids :3
where are my tau and where are my necrons
Awesome, i'd be interested to keep reading into this, I like the sound of the corruption meter thing as long as theres a visual change in the characters too that would be good
i'm glad they are still keeping updating DoW 2 though, waiting for last stand
on a related note:
I wish they would carry on with the horus heresy properly, they got to what, the fifth(?) book relating to horus and related characters, and now the series has tailed off on random stories that don't seem to be all that relevent to the main heresey (I'm looking at you dark angels!) granted their story needed telling as to why various chapters turned to chaos and such, but that last book was a pitiful excuse for a book, a megre collection of short storys. rant over...
Allow me to have a mini rant then
Corruption meter?!?! What the hell is this BS? It's even more unfluffy now! If a space marine (or anyone else) so much as kicked the wall of a shrine to the emperor, than hundreds, ney, thousands of commissars from the imperial army would descend upon the planet!
"Where is his will needed?"
Apparently wherever THQ is making this expansion >.>

The one you are thinking of are the Thousand Sons, the bastard children of Fagnus the Flamer and moral ememies of the Glorious Space Wolves.
HAHAHAH don't make me laugh.
What? They make good cannon fodder and aren't as annoying or weird as cultists.
Yea, cultists get pretty weird sometimes. Like, weird enough to make a CSM or Daemon to just gape awkwardly at one.

Well, your post didn't qualify as to why you thought it sucked, his did.
Blood Ravens are still an official Chapter, Though the background info is in Relics Control, Technically, succesor chapters don't have primarchs either, yet they still venerate the primarch of their founding legion, usually, the problem with the blood Ravens is that they don't know who they're a successor chapter of (or even if they are a successor chapter)

Imperial Guard, since the Imperial Army was abolished after the heresy and split into the Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy, though commissars are technically not part of the guard, plus marines don't take shit from nobody, not even inquisitors, the only people who could even consider giving them orders, other than the Emperor himself, are the Adeptus Custodes, but they generally stay in the Imperial Palace on Terra
As for corruption meter, you should realise that's a gameplay element, not there for fluff.

Can you scan the article and post it? If there's any screenshots I'd like to see :D
