The one you are thinking of are the Thousand Sons, the bastard children of Fagnus the Flamer and moral ememies of the Glorious Space Wolves.
It's Magnus the Red. Fagnus the flamer? Ginger hair doesn't make him a flamer :3:
Chaos is nice and all, but where's my orky campaign. I want gorgutz to make a special comeback.
The one you are thinking of are the Thousand Sons, the bastard children of Fagnus the Flamer and moral ememies of the Glorious Space Wolves.
That's right, thank you. I thought it was, but I had a moment of doubt where I thought, "Wait a second, aren't they Khornate?" Still, a faction for each of the chaos gods will be awesome, and a definite buy - I just wish we'd get Imperial Guard too
the problem with the blood Ravens is that they don't know who they're a successor chapter of (or even if they are a successor chapter)
That's what I mean by Blood Ravens being retards. The two legions who's primarchs couldn't be found were disassembled! So they don't have their own primarch. And they're so stupid. Blood Angels + Raven Guard = BLOOD RAVENS... or maybe they just split from one of the two chapters. Some successor chapters don't have quite so obvious founding chapters...
Imperial Guard, since the Imperial Army was abolished after the heresy and split into the Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy, though commissars are technically not part of the guard, plus marines don't take shit from nobody, not even inquisitors, the only people who could even consider giving them orders, other than the Emperor himself, are the Adeptus Custodes, but they generally stay in the Imperial Palace on Terra As for corruption meter, you should realise that's a gameplay element, not there for fluff.
Well you get my point that SOMEONE would do something to that marine. The inquisition can fuck with space marines all they want (it's in the fluff). In the end though it would probably be up to the rest of the Blood Raven's chapter to purge their own ranks of heretics. Also, I understand its a gameplay element, but it's one of the most unfluffy ones they could think of... Maybe if the expansion includes all the Greater Daemons I'll buy it :3
Actually, there's plenty of rumours about who the founding legion of the Blood Ravens are, from your idea, to lost thousand sons members to even lost Luna Wolves. You just think Blood Angels+Raven Guard because of the name. We also know nothing about the two missing primarch and legions not eve whether they are dead or alive.
Thousand Sons makes a great deal of sense, since we're told that the Blood Ravens have a higher-than-average percentage of Psykers - if they were Thousand Sons descended, their Gene-seed would have come from Magnus the Red, and he was an accomplished Sorcerer/Psyker.
Except the reason they have so many Psykers is that they recruit from worlds have have a larger than norm ratio of psykers to normal people, though WHY they do this is unknown, but it still doesn't annul that possible link. One thing that is interesting to note is that something mentioned in a WD article conflicts with the games and background, that Gabriel was the Chapter Master, though I like to think of it as stil ltrue, just tat he's masquerading as a captain as a sort of regulatory thing.
I'm sure I read that the high-occurance rate of Psykers led both the Inquisition and some fellow chapters to suspect their Gene-Seed of corruption, but that all tests show it as acceptably "pure" or something.
Didn't Captain Thule find something on Kronus related to the Blood Ravens that he doesn't want to talk about, it is possible that their Gene-seed was corrupted.
He destroyed the books and such he found about the Blood Ravens and basically buried the info he saw with himself when he was wounded by the tyranid.
I'm sure I read that the high-occurance rate of Psykers led both the Inquisition and some fellow chapters to suspect their Gene-Seed of corruption, but that all tests show it as acceptably "pure" or something.
Yeah, the Inquisition probably thought that it was an effct of their geneseed rather than an effect of their recruiting habits. Their geneseed is corrupted, only ever so slightly, limited to the Catalepsean Node, which means they have perfect memory but no REM Sleep and therefore no dreams. Plus the memory of their recruitment/implantation always seems like a just happened memory. [editline]05:33PM[/editline] To be honest though, I'd rather that the Blood Ravens were less mysterious, just so that we know, even if the blood ravens didn't, kinda like the dark angels, we know about the fallen ones, but the majority of the chapter doesn't.
Apparently the Captains of the Chapter have learned something of its founding and just aren't charing it with the rest of the chapter. Thule says at one point "The sons of Traitors are not always traitors themselves" and that was a direct answer to a question of their founding. Gabriel also makes mention to knowing bits about the Chapter's history and that it was involved in the Extermination of Cyrene. So Relic does have every bit of the chapter worked out already, they're just not sharing it with us right now.
Given the dangers of Warp usage, it's possible for the original founders, long before azariah to have been former members of traitor legions who were lost in the warp long before the heresy started.
Only way I can see them making the IG fair is if you were leading a Cadian Regiment or something similar. Really, Cadian IG are the best you can get for "True Humans."

That Dreadnought...Sorry, cleaning up my mess :D
That's awesome [editline]06:49PM[/editline] is this going to be a proper retail expansion? If so, any tentative release date?
Oh look, it's EXACTLY how the Spess Mahreens are except they're Chaos. No seriously I see no difference except visually.
Oh look, it's EXACTLY how the Spess Mahreens are except they're Chaos. No seriously I see no difference except visually.
Can you not see their tainted, rotten souls?
Oh look, it's EXACTLY how the Spess Mahreens are except they're Chaos. No seriously I see no difference except visually.
How shocking, Chaos Space Marines look oddly similar to Space Marines. :aaa: Just because you've seen a few units doesn't mean a thing. We've already seen a bloodcrusher, is that not different enough from space marines already? Just shut up and wait.
Oh look, it's EXACTLY how the Spess Mahreens are except they're Chaos. No seriously I see no difference except visually.
You're an idiot then. Didn't you even play DoW1?
The only thing that annoys me is that the landscape so far just look like the DOW2 ones dusted over with a can of skull white.
You're an idiot then. Didn't you even play DoW1?
ITT: I'm an idiot because I supposedly didn't play DoW1 except I did play DoW1 + all of it's expansions and finished them probably three-four times over (Soulstorm not counted) Okay yeah sure, say whatever you want but I want Chaos to be more diverse, I know they are actually both alike but what the hell I want to see new stuff, these guys look exactly the fucking same.
They did in DoW 1 as well, they were more assault orientated than normal marines, unless you can tell that from pictures of chaos marines and a chaos dreadnought then shuddup and wait.
They did in DoW 1 as well, they were more assault orientated than normal marines, unless you can tell that from pictures of chaos marines and a chaos dreadnought then shuddup and wait.
I'm dropping this subject because everyone is simply going "shut up bitch"

And you don't like them because they don'e look similar. So yeah, you're an idiot.

Go find something else to moan about instead.
Oh look, it's EXACTLY how the Spess Mahreens are except they're Chaos. No seriously I see no difference except visually.
Except here you pretty much indicated you felt they were the same army, meaning you contradict yourself
Except here you pretty much indicated you felt they were the same army, meaning you contradict yourself
"I just think they look really similar and I know there are reasons for it and I accept it." Are you going to continue or are we going to drop this and focus at the matter at hand, the lack of Imperial Guard? Opinions are legal y'know, just saying.

You can't start getting a sandy vagina just because they didn't throw in Imperial Guard...
