Regardless, my point stands.
Update: Preview from IGN added to OP
[editline]01:36PM[/editline]
and the offial trailer for Chaos Rising, forgot about that.
Why chaos :( I want necrons or tau they are more fun
Here's to hoping for Noise Marines.
They better have awesome firing sounds.
Chaos will in multiplayer probably be able to choose one of the Chaos Gods instead of a commander, right?
^ Hopefully, guess we'll find out when Relic decides to release more info.
Bumping the thread with content.

So did they say if the game was going to be a full priced expansion or not?
I hope they will add new wargear for some the last stand heroes, like a ranger sniper for the farseer, heavy bolter for the captain and a pistol for the mekboy (a melee weapon but no good pistol?).
oh hey.
more guard and.. HOLY DICKS CHAOS GUARDSMEN FSEDJW3S6KMCDETFGJHehrejk5eg
Awwww chaos is nice but the distinct lack of the imperial guard and necrons make me sad :crying:
Space Hulk. omfg
Fuck yes! SPACE HULKS!
Looks nice but the gameplay sucked too much in the first one for me think about buying this
And the ultra retarded fluff in this makes me not even want to look at it (the whole corrupt-o-meter thing)

Can't knock something until you try it. I loved DoW2 not because it is the same tactical combat as CoH, I love it because it's intense squad based combat, kind of like DotA.

I own the first game... it's safe to assume the second is pretty much the first but with added features. I don't like the corruption meter not because I think it's a bad gameplay element but because it makes no sense according to the Warhammer 40k universe.
The only think i don't like about dow2 is the low pop cap and no base building.

Games don't have to make sense.
Is this standalone or do you require DoW2?
WHERE THE FUK ARE MY IMPEREEEL GARD
Is this stand alone? Also, I've yet to finish the damn campaign.

So then let's take something that has a well established fluff... like Lord of the Rings.
Let's make a video game!
There's no such thing as a male hobbit, they were all killed by Radagast the brown. Hobbits are now forced to reproduce Asexually.
Gandalf makes a living by selling toe-jam sculptures to people who pass by.
Mordor is now the most popular tourist attraction in Middle-Earth, and Sauron himself bakes cookies for each an every tourist

I'd buy it.
I dont understand why everyone wants imperial guard?
The way I remember it was, they were puny weak as shit humans who were constantly getting raped by every race, every chaos, every ork and their grannies.
Space marines are big bad ass super soldiers that have to do the jobs the imperial guards can't.

Which would you be? The little guy inbetween it all or the big super warriors with shiney armour.

Looks like a baby.
Also...corruption meter? Original much? No.
Been there done that, infamous was the last straw. Doesn't really seem to fit in with the style as the Space marines are generally pure to there believes. They were defending shrines of the emperor, not destroying them for shiney new trinkets.

Why do you think I'm not liking the video game? Another thing about DoW 2 is it doesn't let you have FUCKING HUGE battles, which I want in a 40k video game. As it is, my table top army is larger than any army I could make in Dow2. I want armies that would cost thousands of dollars in real life :(
Well I am still very new to the 40k Universe(I just recently got the first dawn of war plus Winter Assault and Dark Crusade) and I have Dawn of War II for at least several months now. So I have little knowledge about the game lore-wise and I have never touched or seen the tabletop miniatures
So far, I will have to say my favorite factions will be the Space Marines and the Imperial Guard(Blaneblades and Comissars for the win)
Chaos Rising looks good, but what is The Chaos Marines about anyway?, besides causing Chaos and Death?

As far as chaos marines are concerned, read up on the Horus Heresy
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Horus_Heresy
Chaos itself is very confusing...
The easy part is that there are four gods:
Khorne - The blood god
Nurgle - The lord of decay and diseases
Slaanesh - Lord of Pleasure and stuff
Tzeentch - Lord of Change (OBAMA WOOOOOOOOOO)
And they all exist in the warp and live not so happily with each other. The 40k lore is pretty cool, there's novels and stuff but alot of the lore is also in the Codexes (rulebooks for the table top game)
Chaos marines are just corrupted Space Marines, simple as that. And they are deformed by the warp.
I'm probably wrong in one of these sentences but RayvenQ will know and correct all.

What the hell are you talking about? They're the best race. Might not be the strongest. But they're the bravest and have the most courage and fight for what they believe in (Or dont and get shot in the face by the commissioner).
