How will the corruption meter work out, Will the Space marines end up becoming Chaos marines after it's done, Will we be able to follow any of the gods. (Nurgle plox.)
Aw isn't he cute? And I'm just wondering if there's different endings. I haven't read up on it, nor do I plan to buy it, but it will make less sense to have a corruption meter but only the "We claim this plan3t in teh name of TEH EMPRAW!!!" ending
Woooo now you can pay for something that was in the old game from the start! What a good use of your hard-earned cash!
Woooo now you can pay for something that was in the old game from the start! What a good use of your hard-earned cash!
Dawn of War (vanilla) didn't have Tyranids to start with... it's a tradeoff
-Nurgle Image.- Aw isn't he cute? And I'm just wondering if there's different endings. Theirs a video a couple pages back and they say theirs several endings.
Dawn of War (vanilla) didn't have Tyranids to start with... it's a tradeoff
Not to be a ass, But DoW 1 did have Tyranids in it, They had a few models and Animations.
Not to be a ass, But DoW 1 did have Tyranids in it, They had a few models and Animations.
Not in the campaign though...doesn't matter if there was a few hidden animations or so, doesn't really count.
Any of you have any tips for being a Techmarine on a 3v3 map on multiplayer? I'm getting fucked in the ass everytime i play. The only real tactic i have is to build a dreadnought, and make my Techmarine heal it while it goes on a rampage.
:gizz:.
That's slaanesh you tit. Learn your chaos gods!
Uumm... I have played the first Dawn of War and I think I know which race are the best and its imperial guard. I think you need to do some research buddy
Fluff wise, an entire regiment of IG would die before a single marine squad would die.
Good god I'd pretty much forgotten about this.
Nope Why do you think I'm not liking the video game? Another thing about DoW 2 is it doesn't let you have FUCKING HUGE battles, which I want in a 40k video game. As it is, my table top army is larger than any army I could make in Dow2. I want armies that would cost thousands of dollars in real life :(
Well Relic have confirmed in Chaos Rising there will be some missions which are more akin to the original (i.e. small tactical insertions), and some which will make it seem more like a massive conflict between two armies, not a few squads. [editline]10:06PM[/editline]
Also DoW3 shouldn't be made by Relic, they can no longer be trusted with 40k
I beg to differ. Besides, if Relic isn't, who is then? Kuju? And don't you dare say 'anybody', both of us know that'd be absolute BS.
*insert giant ass daemon here* Aw isn't he cute? And I'm just wondering if there's different endings. I haven't read up on it, nor do I plan to buy it, but it will make less sense to have a corruption meter but only the "We claim this plan3t in teh name of TEH EMPRAW!!!" ending
There's two confirmed endings, as for the daemon, he's in the game, jolly laugh and all. And speaking of the Corruption meter, I can confirm if no one else has that some wargear will require squads to be either more or less corrupt, or will decrease or increase your corruption meter as you use it. Also of note from PC Gamer that, frankly I thought was hilarious, is one of the abilities for a fully corrupt Cyrus: He may, if he has explosives available, transform one of his squad members into a running, screaming explosive, which will probably provide much hilarity for those of you who are a wee more twisted than others. I can also confirm that the other foes you fought in the first game (nids and all) will be back, with some different mission types, hopefully mixing it up a little, as well as some more maps for the different planets. At least that's what I gathered :/ I have been digging up every scrap of information on this game for a lack of things to do, so here's a bunch of shit from the horse's mouth itself and a few others: DoW2.com: http://community.dawnofwar2.com/blog-post/unit-profile-space-marines-librarian - Details on the Librarian http://community.dawnofwar2.com/blog-post/happy-holidays-0 - source of info concerning the Nurgle daemon Previews: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/warhammer-40-000-dawn-of-war-ii-chaos-rising-preview - Eurogamer http://uk.pc.gamespy.com/pc/warhammer-40000-dawn-of-war-ii-expansion-pack-i/1046851p1.html - Gamespy http://kotaku.com/5392280/dawn-of-war-ii-chaos-rising-preview-the-darker-side-of-dawn - Kotaku http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3176709 - 1up Bearing in mind pretty much all of this is from last year, I believe some if not all of you may have already seen the articles.
Update: New units for the Tyranids shown! They get genestealers and the Tyrant Guard! Link here: http://community.dawnofwar2.com/blog-post/unit-profile-tyranids-tyrant-guard-and-genestealer-brood
Anything about new ork units yet?
Hell yes, Nurgle finally gets some spotlight!
Anything about new ork units yet?
Nothing yet, but count on something coming up in the next couple of weeks.
can you confirm that with the update orks will continue to be the biggest and the greenest? this is important.
Well Relic have confirmed in Chaos Rising there will be some missions which are more akin to the original (i.e. small tactical insertions), and some which will make it seem more like a massive conflict between two armies, not a few squads.
DoW II had a mission like that, when you first found the tyranids there were a lot of them but you couldn't really do much to them, and most of them appeared during the cutscene. It still didn't feel like a big engagement to me. And just because it's meant to seem like there's a massive conflict, doesn't mean there actually is one (Supreme command had MASSIVE conflits)
I beg to differ. Besides, if Relic isn't, who is then? Kuju? And don't you dare say 'anybody', both of us know that'd be absolute BS.
Somebody else who hasn't let the success of Company of Heroes go to their heads. I bet the next non-WWII RTS they make will probably have "the company of heroes style gameplay." CoH worked for CoH, it doesn't work for situations where they should be hundreds, if not thousands of units. 40k is like that. And to give an example, WWI with CoH elements. 60 men weren't charging no mand's land by themselves in WWI, it was hundreds of men. But Relic wouldn't think of that now would they? And wow I didn't see that Nurgle holiday video. I'm surprised they put a Forgeworld model in the game (I forget if DoW had any). --- Also another irk I have with the game is no Vertical Sync (last time I check anyways). I hate framebleeding.
I hope Relic fixes the annoying as shit unresponsive AI and controls.
I would have liked a CoH-style WH40k game (since I know that wishing for a tabletop or fluff following game is useless and it won't happen soon), the problem is that DoW2 wasn't anywhere near CoH. CoH had awesome maps (not this mirrored tournament shit, and not only 4), awesome physics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0wJMAEHgFk watch it, it's worth it), and had an overall more polished and detailed feel to it. DoW2 felt like a CoH beta with WH40k armies. I liked DoW2, but I feel that it was only because I love Warhammer, had the game not been a Warhammer game I probably would have called it a bland, boring and unoriginal mediocre game.
He was saying armor as in tanks and artillery IG have the best armor
That's really, fluff wise, all the guard are really good at, even then, only really Russ Variants and Baneblades. They have the best armour because, well, they need it poor sods. Though there used to be Marine variants of Baneblades too.
orkz should get looted baneblades
I dont understand why everyone wants imperial guard? The way I remember it was, they were puny weak as shit humans who were constantly getting raped by every race, every chaos, every ork and their grannies. Space marines are big bad ass super soldiers that have to do the jobs the imperial guards can't. Which would you be? The little guy inbetween it all or the big super warriors with shiney armour.
Unlike Spess Mareens, Imperial Guard have balls of fucking steel. They don't need wussy power armor to kick some ass. Also for every 1 spess mareen theres around a million Guardsmen. Also Leman Russes, Baneblades and Creed are reasons in their own.
Update http://community.dawnofwar2.com/ They're starting to reveal the new units you guys havent noticed. The librarian and a Tyrant Guard and Genestealer Brood [editline]10:11AM[/editline]
orkz should get looted baneblades
They wouldnt be able to loot one. Let alone get near one without being ripped into shreds
I could care less about races, I want them to make the multiplayer have a less shit UI and have AI that does something other than build a couple of tanks and sit there.
Unlike Spess Mareens, Imperial Guard have balls of fucking steel.
:pwn: wat

If they look on Forge World, they both have some pretty awesome stuff. I personally prefer Space Marines though, I just like the look of them better, I was tempted to buy an army of IG a year or so ago, but they were too 'normal' for me, I like the lore of the Space Marines better, and I find them more fun to play. (board game wise, not based on DoW games) Also, just as an off topic note, if anyones interested, the most expensive and largest model in the game, the Tau Manta. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/40kmanta2.htm £895 :q:

As for Guard Lore, 15 Hours, Gaunts Ghosts, Ciaphas Cain. Those three listed are fan fucking tastic. Oh and for those of you who may not know, Blood Angels Codex is due April 3rd. They also need to buff goddamn Space Marines in multiplayer :argh: They get fucked in the ass by every single race because their only melee unit in T1 is too damn expensive and is more of a disruption unit rather then real melee, and hero units suck.
Actually, Titans belong to the Mechanicum, Collegio Titanica specifically
True, but he was implementing that Space Marines have nothing, compared to Imperial Guards, in terms of Mech type stuff.
:pwn: wat
Guardsmen don't need to hide behind power armor to charge into battle.
