I think saying "zombies" gives a bad connotation to these enemies. In spirit, they are not zombies and that's what I think counts.
Made me sad when I saw fast zombies, but the overgrown city looks nice.
Naughty Dog is making it so there's no way they can mess it up, when Uncharted was announced everybody just though it would be a shitty Tomb Raider ripoff.
So another one of those "totally not zombies but yeah they're pretty much zombies" type things. Don't really care as long as the game is nice.
Not a zombie game. Captured on a Ps3 system. Lies or half truths. Reminds me of the first Killzone 2 trailer and the trailer for that cancelled game where those guys blow up the gas station.
So another one of those "totally not zombies but yeah they're pretty much zombies" type things.
"Not aliens, extra dimensional beings!" This will be amazing
Judging by the little thing about looking for bullets in the trailer, my guess is ammo will be at a premium in this game.
Hey look, Ellen Page is in this game. Wish I had a PS3. I'd love the play the Uncharted series and this game.
I will never understand how Naughty Dog is able to harness so much power from the PS3's six year old hardware. Fuckin' wizards working at that company.

I'm interested in seeing how they play of the infection, the fungal aspect of it looked interesting. I'm a little sick of zombies, hopefully they do something a bit different in this game.
I will never understand how Naughty Dog is able to harness so much power from the PS3's six year old hardware. Fuckin' wizards working at that company.
Maybe it's because they've been at it for six years? I personally am willing to bet that if we stop trying to come out with a new 'next gen' as fast as we can we would get some better games because developers wouldn't need to start from scratch on a new rig.
I was thinking "Please don't make this a zombie game. Please don't make this a zombie game!" I watched the trailers in the OP and to me it look more like a game about surviving an infectious plague or something, which made me literally exclaim "Yes!" like I had just won the fucking lottery. A survival game about just some generic virus killing everybody off while trying to be realistic has been an idea of mine for some time. I still don't understand why no one has made a game based solely on this premise. And when I thought this was going to be the game I had been waiting for, I saw the rage zombies in the 3rd trailer and once again shouted "NO!". It's another fucking zombie survival game. You know what, I don't care how good this fucking game is, I'm not buying it. Just another generic premise and half-assed zombie survival game. Even is the game plays good, the premise is just so over-used, boring, and worn at this point that I couldn't give a fuck. So that's my opinion.
It looks like a Father/Daughter duo surviving together, but since the daughter doesn't remember civilization it seems to take place a few years after the outbreak.

So you want a survival game with no enemies..? That would get kinda boring right quick.. no real sense of danger, fear, anticipation, etc etc.. In my opinion, and from what I saw in the trailer... this game is gonna be heavily based on the survival aspect and less on the killing of hordes of muhfuckas. The scenario in the trailer is a good example of how having the zombie fungus things would make the game what it is. Imagine you're searching the building for supplies or what have you, it's quiet as fuck, you can only hear the birds / bugs outside... then all of a sudden you hear a bunch of footsteps coming towards you... do you use the limited ammo you have now, or run and try to hide it out until they're gone? Shit like that would make the game so intense. That's the kind of survival game we need.... not no hordes and hordes of zombies, unlimited ammo, no real danger in fighting up close, no real survival aspects, etc etc. I dunno man, this game is going to be epic... Naughty Dog is developing it....? LOL Come on. I don't want to sound like a fanboy but really, come on, lol, let's be real. Like someone said they're basically the Valve of console devs. Naughty Dog isn't the kind of company that would create a generic zombie shoot em up type game, I'm tellin you. BY the way, not sure if someone already posted but, the description on the YouTube vid: The Last of Us is genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who's braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.
I don't think it will be a father/daughter relationship setup either. It seems more like the guy found the girl and decided to start watching over her. I'm sure that will allow for more depth and interaction between the two instead of it being all "DADDY DADDY DERP!"
So I'm guessing Naughty Dog is done with Uncharted? A shame
So I'm guessing Naughty Dog is done with Uncharted? A shame
For this gen probably, yeah. I'm pretty sure they said they'd keep making the Uncharted series as long as people wanted em.. Uncharted 4 as a launch title for the PS4? I could see that happening..

That seems way better than a father/daughter duo.
From a reasonable view of the setting it's like 30 or 40 years after everything went to shit. Maybe even more. Which doesn't make sense, how the infected and survivors managed to survive so long with the infected being plagued with a mind-altering fungus that basically makes them disregard nutrition and the survivors who have managed to somehow survive for 30 or 40 years on scavenged food and water. Unless it's like a plot point that nature is somehow accelerating due to the fungus. Which means that maybe the water was infected with it or something and is causing it, which means bottled water is worth several tons it's weight in gold but that's just speculation in the dark.
shaders hiding ugly textures mostly, that trailer is pre-rendered if you couldn't tell look @ any screenshot from an uncharted game it's really obvious when not in motion
If it was pre-rendered there wouldn't be so much aliasing. v:v:v

My God, this looks good.
Damn I was going to get a thread up as soon as I saw the trailer last night. Then I saw that this was posted two days ago :v: I've got hopes that this'll live up to its premise, after all if the Uncharted series is anything to go by, ND know what they're doing with character-driven stories, the fact that they seem to be able to draw the absolute best out of the PS3 tech (shaders be damned!) only makes it more incredible. On another note this has apparently been in development in secret for the last two years by another team at ND.
shaders hiding ugly textures mostly, that trailer is pre-rendered if you couldn't tell look @ any screenshot from an uncharted game it's really obvious when not in motion
I've seen screenshots from Uncharted; the textures are extremely detailed: Last of Us seems to have some nice textures too.
If it is a zombie game, I hope they won't give us unlimited ammo, regenerative health, and the ability to kill swarms of infected as if you were stepping on an ant.
Make it more like The Walking Dead show.
recently got rid of my busted xbox and got a PS3, now I'm glad I did
Looks pretty interesting. Have we seen a zombie game in New York? I can't quite remember.
Looks pretty interesting. Have we seen a zombie game in New York? I can't quite remember.
... aren't you running around in New York in Prototype? Not calling it a zombie game, but there are zombies.

Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who's braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.
Well, no. In any apocalypse scenario where a decent number of people survive, bandits, gangs, and overall insane people will exist and they will be pissed. I just wish there was a game that explored the grey area of an apocalypse, where you have to make decisions against people that you would never. Where the enemies are just normal people shoved to extremes by the circumstances instead of zombies. Where one can see what levels humans can (and will) sink to when they need to. My point is, a game with zombies makes for better gameplay but undermines the apocalypse story a lot. The bad guys are no longer humans that you can empathize with, they are merely mindless zombies that have no emotion and only strive to eat. But that description does imply a lot about humanity's grey area and what extremes an apocalypse scenario could really drive us to, so maybe this game won't be that bad. I just hope zombies aren't very common and that it stays true to survival rather then action, because there are many "action" titles like this already available. [editline]derp[/editline] I don't even know why I'm talking about this. I don't even own a PS3. I'll probably never get to play it because Sony has such a hard on for restricting its titles to exclusives, which is just a cheap way to get people to buy it's product despite the fact that the PS3 doesn't need marketing like that its hardware alone is enough to warrant a smart gamer to buy it. But nope, I just had to get the Xbox and have it break down 2 times. I've spent well over 2,000 dollars on the 360 alone, mostly for Xbox Live and replacing it when it breaks. And what do I get for my troubles? Shitty titles like CoD:MW2 instead of Uncharted or Infamous. I'm fucking retarded.
