Split shot and mana shield are useless in the early game, a level or two in the later is fine though if you find yourself getting ganked often.

Disregard teamfights, push towers. Rush Linkens and Boots of Travel and Naga literally becomes Nature's Prophet, but better, because Linkens+Song of Siren usually provides an impeccable escape mechanism.

Recently I played a few games, and to my surprise I discovered Slark has some new accessories. The Fishy Frillhawk was the one I was, but then I found out about the Encore, a blade developed by our friendly-neighbourhood puts-balls-on-things modeller Anuxi. Judging from the description and the appearance, I can gather that it was apparently a gift to Slark from Naga Siren. Also, the part "and he keeps it with him to silence those who wish to silence her song" suggests that he cares about her, which was also implied through his lines that play when he lanes with her. Also, tonight I taught Axe the virtues of being a frog, many times. Sadly I couldn't make him croak, since he was busy chewing on our Huskar. To be fair, it was the guy's first time playing Huskar, and I don't blame him all that much; that kinda bloodletting is a risky gameplay style that means dancing with death, plus we were laning against Necrolyte too, whose Ult has a fair bit of shut-down potential on Huskar, though Heartstopper Aura actually would end up benefitting a Huskar somewhat.
