I like how the co-op campaign isn't terrifying at all because you're playing with friends. I didn't really like it as much as the single-player one since it was just basically running from one level to another with no plot.
There is a plot, but it is a very weak and detail-less one.
I never understood the co-op plot.
You end with either people going back in time and arresting David or the Doctor teleporting into an alternate dimension and doing a brief run-through of Simon's world before leaving, then breaking into his house and burning his book along with setting his living room on fire.

Co-Op Plot according to the Wiki:
[sp]
The story behind the line of co-op maps is that a group of Swedish police officers read "Simon's Book" and fight their way backwards through the original SP campaign to stop Simon from being hit by the car being driven by an unknown individual in the beginning of the main story, which originally causes a "spiral of events" that spawn the "arcane creations that his book had"
So basically, they read his book and absorb his nightmares, blah blah blah, and save simon.[/sp]

[sp]I think the Coop campaign is what's implied in Ending 4 how Simon says he wrote a happy ending for himself, essentially getting the police to arrest the guy who would run him over, preventing everything that led up to this point[/sp]
imo the coop plot should of been [sp]Playing as the cops simon shoots while hallucinating in ending 4[/sp]

[sp]So 2 player co-op instead of 4?[/sp]

[sp]So the cops don't actually exist?
This shit's getting meta.[/sp]

White people.
Cool, the song "Observe My Life" is a cleaned-up version of a short, looping track in Condemned 2. It's the first song that plays in the demo.
Actually CoF is kinda similar to Condemned.
I can't believe I started tearing up during endings 1-4.
I can't believe I started tearing up during endings 1-4.
The first ending, while disturbing, was the least sad one for me, if only because of the voice acting. "FUCK YOU >:( "

Yeah, that part really made me want to curse back to him.
But the 2nd and the 3rd one is were I started tearing up.
Then tears fell when I saw the 4th ending, they were tears of happiness.
Anybody else tought calling people with your cellphone was going to be a prominent feature, only to be done just once? I mean, why would they bother putting it in the game if you only call a number one time.
(or maybe you can call optional numbers and I'm oblivious to that, if so, I'm sorry)

I didn't know what was up with the phone.
Even with no credit you can make emergency calls and dial the operator (at least that's how it works here).

You [sp]get called by sophie[/sp] and [sp]use that old phone in the asylum[/sp].
I thought everything was unlimited now.
or maybe you can call optional numbers
There's a phone number on the vans you see peppered throughout the levels, 08-35 32 1 (along with a secret message in the texture itself), but I couldn't get it to work when dialing it in-game. You might need to "use" one of vans to trigger the phone number, but that would be difficult to determine without examining the scripts in most of the maps which I'm just too lazy to do. The only reason I think it could still be a possibility is that I found a corresponding sound file seemingly intended to play once you've dialed the number on the van. For those willing to check out your game files, you can find the van number wave file here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[SteamName]\half-life\CryOfFear\sound\ambience\van_number.wav

Holy fuck that scared the shit out of me.

I mean when YOU call a number with your cellphone, by pressing z I believe.

Yes, I tried calling the number on the van but it didn't work. It seems as if they've forgotten about that feature all together.
I still haven't finished cry of fear, I've been off it for a while for some reason. Going to pick up from where I left off. Luckily this thread has the answers to the puzzles if I need any help.
Wish me luck! Although I've read all the spoilers so I basically ruined it for myself.
So, can anyone help me with this? In the coop nightmare sequences my screen slowly turns grey and never comes back, is there a way around this? Can I disable overlays or something?

You have to kill Simon.
Beat the AoM ending, i thought it'd be a lot cooler/funnier for a "Secret" ending.

It's more of a small homage to their first mod, if anything.

I suppose that's fair. But, usually "secret" things are a bit more on top. but it was a neat little homage in the least.
Spring break. I think I can finally finish my commentary series on this if Dota doesn't get in the way.
