But instead of it complaining about it being on Direct 3D mode it says it's on software. Yes, I run the game through the custom launcher, it seems like it ALWAYS goes like this: 1: I set the resolution at the launcher, 1280x720 since I intend to record for youtube, however when inside the actual game, it seems to be 800x600 no matter what I picked for resolution or custom resoltuion. 2: After it actually launches the game, no matter if it's in 16 bit mode or not, it always says the game doesn't "support the current video mode" and switches it to software automatically. When starting a new game, the game warns me one more time that the game doesn't support software mode and I should switch to openGL. [img]https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Photos/Cry%20of%20Fear%20step%202.png?w=af291864[/img] 4: Now I have two options there, either I just click cancel and it loads the game anyways, with some really odd graphical glitches, presumably from running in software mode anyways. I do it, launch the game, back to step 1. tl;dr : Game launches, changes to software mode automatically, then bitches about it not being able to run in that mode, only openGL. Restart game, repeat. Video card is an ATI HD 4890 by the way, just updated to latest drivers two days ago D: Any help would be appreciated as I have been waiting for this game for way too long, as I'm sure many of you have UPDATE!: Ok I seem to have fixed the issue. It's a really dumb thing really. For some reason my monitor refresh rate was at 59 hz and openGL just went weird while doing that, I ran the game through steam forcing my resolution and 60 hz refresh rate (after changing my own to 60 of course) via -w 1280 -h 720 -refresh 60 and it ran perfectly. Now running through the launcher gets it to regular openGL mode like it should. Perfect.

Yesterday, my internet stopped working right as I started downloading and it got to 90%, but now i'm installing. [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline] And fuck singleplayer i'm a huge pussy and only downloaded this game for the coop

So I just got one of the two [sp]fuses[/sp], I got the one in the very first building of the game, in the [sp]apartment that's cordoned off, all bloody, long hallway with flashbacks and stuff[/sp]. Now, I need a [sp]ladder to climb back out[/sp] but I can't find it. Any ideas?

ARGH I crashed RIGHT after the first boss fight, and now i have to do it again. Checkpoints are cool and all, but I need quicksaves to stop shit like this happening!

So wait; this game isn't even particularly scary, and it might not actually run with my graphics card? Well gee, that's a bit disappointing. Downloading to see for myself, but as I'm on ATI I don't even know if it'll work.

I keep getting to the same part in the sewers and it crashes and gives me some no free edicts error :( The save point from where it crashes is a fair way away too so to have to do it over and over is killing me.

Fuck this i'm not playing by myself, I want to play coop!
