That saved my butt for like 10 seconds until I get to a door with 3 boards I have to destroy before entering, yet I always get skewered on the third board. What now?
If I remember correctly..[sp]There is a lever on the wall you can pull that brings down a wall that stops him from getting in.[/sp]
So I was playing co-op with my friends and then the game crashed on all of us. We got pretty damn far but when he tries to host it again we have to start from the very VERY beginning. Is there a way to load the maps manually so we can start where we left off?
you can use the "changelevel <map>" command, if you know the map name that you were on, but you'll lose all your items that you had and you will only get what the level start gives you(usually shotty/pistol/stick or pistol/stick) with very little ammo.
Im stuck on the start after [sp] you get fucking jumped by that fucking face in the dark while you have a camera [/sp], Cant figure out the Padlock or the computer password. Also, im hosting a Coop server, anyone want to join up?
[sp]Theres two pieces of paper on the ground on the outside with the username and password[/sp]
Phew, finally made it past the chainsaw guy. I've found all the guns so far but now I'm going to have to leave one behind. Which is smarter to drop in terms of what comes ahead? [sp] The glock, the AR-15, the Remington, the Hunting Rifle, or the VP70? [/sp]

Best choice is usually just a range of damages, pistol, shotgun, and AR seem the best choice.

So, is this mod as good as it sounds, or another case of No More Room In Hell?
So, Co-Op is buggy? That sucks, kind of want to play it with some people. Also, I'm stuck in the apartment area. Yes, at the start of the game. I'm that good.
So, is this mod as good as it sounds, or another case of No More Room In Hell?
You're comparing a finished singleplayer and co-op Half Life mod to a still in development Half Life 2 multiplayer mod. Nonetheless, the mod is excellent.
The best opinion I can give is, the Single Player is fucking fantastic and has a lot of replay ability considering the second play through is practically a different game. There are tons of unlockables and great gameplay. THE MP, on the other hand is kinda buggy, kinda un balanced and more just for a group fun, it may not be as story driven or complex as single player and its not nearly as scary its still a great MP to play. All in all id say this is definitely the best hl1/hl2 mod I have ever played. Its got so much content that its basically a Full game in my opinion. The single player I would pay $10 for, unlike Dear Esther.
I still cant find the video tape. Where is it at? I swear i've been everywhere there is to be.
For some reason, the pistol recoil makes me sick when I am using ironsights.
The Mod has had a 4 year + development time. CO-OP has only been worked on for about the last 6-8 months, and is very beta / tacked on ,they said. THey only added it cause some people asked for it... So yeah, of course it's not that good, but it has potential. Yes, I got the Tape myself, can't find the video player, and respawning enemies pisses me off.
I had that problem too until I asked Rumpel, the main dude behind the mod, and he says to use the desktop icon called "Launch Cry of Fear" that you first installed with the setup. Fixed it right up. Now, however, I'm stuck in the game because I keep getting caught by this jackass with a chainsaw because I run out of sprint too quickly. The first time I went through the hallway he spawns in, he killed me in exactly 1.2 seconds. Quite a scare, but not very fair. (Yes the rhyme is intentional.)
reward for best artistic style goes to pat4ever on page 42 i give you now a palette to continue your aesthetic career
You hardly talk, your too quiet and your lispy. but your still my bro.
Already did up to part 3, but I'll see what I can do with the remaining parts (I'm still in the apartments so I have a long way to go). Thanks
Would you happen to know which maps are specifically coop?
no, i dont know the exact coop level names, but I know the ones with c_cof are coop ones. the only map i know specifically is c_cof_asylum1
Let's not forget the [sp]David Leatherhoff[/sp] Ending, and the co-op ending. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94EIe8YmVUE
Is the game better off played SP or Coop the first time?
Is the game better off played SP or Coop the first time?
CO-OP takes place after SP.. So I'd so SP first. Infact, intro to CO-OP is a huge spoiler.
Is the game better off played SP or Coop the first time?
Play SP first it sets you up for Coop, however half-way through they just run out of ideas and it's pretty trashy afterwards so go to coop after you meet up with the girl and those hijinks ensue.
no, i dont know the exact coop level names, but I know the ones with c_cof are coop ones. the only map i know specifically is c_cof_asylum1
Well that actually helps alot. Now we can just test each of the maps and see where we left off.
I can't get past the carcass boss... I've attempted it around 8 times now, and I can't get cheats to work either, any suggestions?
I can't get past the carcass boss... I've attempted it around 8 times now, and I can't get cheats to work either, any suggestions?
Just keep shooting. Don't stop. First go up with shotgun and blast at him. Then run behind part of the building that you can crouch behind. Sometimes he'll stop shooting you if you crouch behind it. Then just stand up and shoot with everything you got. I had to go through 9 shotgun shells, 30+ pistol ammo, and 8 rifle rounds to bring him down. And you don't NEED to kill him. You can just escape if you want.
The part with the [sp]electric lock in the subway[/sp] Do you need to sprint?
You can escape? <:D Well looks like I'll just be doing that instead since I have practically no ammo and about 15 health lol
Stuck on the [sp]Statue puzzle, the one with the animals. What do?[/sp]
[sp]There is a sign near the save thing. Go to it and read it. It should basically say hawk is north, owl is south. Horse is west and Lion is west. (Make sure to look at the stone compass to make sure you are making them go the right way.[/sp]
