Well I said fuck it and asked steam support anyways and they told me I have no pending vac bans on my account. Whoever started that rumor can piss off tia
I hope you're right man. I played on a CS 1.6/CoF Co-op server myself... I've been a bit worried since then. lol
I hope you're right man. I played on a CS 1.6/CoF Co-op server myself... I've been a bit worried since then. lol
Then go ask steam support like I did if there's a pending ban on your account? You don't have to sit around wondering if you're about to be vac banned or not. [editline]2nd March 2012[/editline] Even though it makes even less sense that CS could get you vac banned, since the open gl is in the half-life folder, which is separate the counterstrike 1.6 folder. Unless I'm missing something here idk
I keep asking people if they think the Co-op is unbalanced, but they keep saying they don't think it is. I disagree, though, considering the fact that the ammo and items tend to be spread thin for everyone (even when you're tactical about it, at least one or two people are out of ammo and/or have to focus on melee); the enemies are everywhere practically, with up to and possibly more than five zombies and three-four bed monsters at the beginning of the campaign alone in one large swarm; and the levels are definitely not designed for four individuals trying to run through cramped halls against mainly melee enemies that run really fast (add in the issue of ping and dodging is practically impossible, even when you're one-on-one with no other players in the same room). And then there's [sp]Nightmare Simon[/sp], promptly forcing everyone to waste their syringes because of how goddamn accurate he is. If ping was alright and you could dodge in melee, this bastard would probably be one of the only reasons to save up ammo in co-op. It's a good idea, but fuck you [sp]nightmare simon[/sp]
Cry of Fear Coop Review: Police Brutality redefined! 6/10 Pros: You get to spend most of your time assaulting gentle giants by smacking their shins to dust with either a nightstick or branch along with your peers! Cons: Ammo is extremely thinly distributed! [sp]Shotgun-wielding Twitcher Simon[/sp] will wreck your shit! [sp]Ping[/sp] will wreck your shit just as well! The most deadly and menacing enemy changed his name to the most pussy ass shit of a boss! Bottom line: I was having an absolute blast! And then it crashed. :smith:
Alrighty, so I've heard that if you memorize the level you're on in co-op, if it crashes, you can just restart it on that map through the console, any truth to that?
Isn't it something like ''level <levelname>''? Not sure what the command is, but it's possible. [editline]2nd March 2012[/editline] Or changemap or some shit
A mix, I think, changelevel "city3" or whatever. I'm just wondering how you're gonna tell what map you're on. In Sven-Coop you can just hold tab and it tells you, so I hope that'll work.
Alrighty, so I've heard that if you memorize the level you're on in co-op, if it crashes, you can just restart it on that map through the console, any truth to that?
if you know the map name yes, but i suggest against doing it. you can rush through the coop levels easily and still have plenty of ammo, but if you have to restart because of a crash you'll usually just spawn with a stick and a pistol with 1 clip in the gun and nothing else(unless the map has stuff near spawn/around the level) [editline]2nd March 2012[/editline] coop maps are c_cof_<levelname> so for example c_cof_asylum1
does anyone know where can i find the [sp]second fuse? alredy went trough the apartments for the first one[/sp]
does anyone know where can i find the [sp]second fuse? alredy went trough the apartments for the first one[/sp]
[sp]Backtrack through TL Trading to the Saxon Avenue Subway Station[/sp]

Jesus I just tried nightmare mode and I had no idea i need a tape so I can save. Made it all the way to sawer then got cornered and died when he had halfway health. This game man
I do not understand nightmare mode. I barely beat this game on hard, but nightmare is unbelievable.
I do not understand nightmare mode. I barely beat this game on hard, but nightmare is unbelievable.
People in the thread are beating nightmare in 3 hours or something. I'm like wtf.
that part in the forest oh my god that part got my heart beating so fast. I've absolutely terrified of [sp]chasing scenes in games.[/sp]
that part in the forest oh my god that part got my heart beating so fast. I've absolutely terrified of [sp]chasing scenes in games.[/sp]
When you are heading towards the lamp and you hear the [sp]chainsaw[/sp] OHGOD NOPE
I just went down all the bloodied stairs, this hallway is SO FUCKING DARK :(
Multiple Ending Spoilers. [sp]So I went through ending 4 and 5, as well as the coop ending... Ending 4 is the most likely ending thats 'offical' and good. Ending 5 is in my opinion a joke/comedy relief ending, just due to David not using some new model and not having voice acting. Ending CoOp is the best ending, but most likely not 'offical' so to speak. But my god ending five made me laugh some reason.[/sp]
The [sp]chainsaw boss in SP[/sp] is pretty silly and not too hard, especially [sp] when you kill him and he chops his own head off, then simon vomits all over the place and passses out[/sp]

I swear to god that fucking [sp]chainsaw guy, gets me shitting my pants everytime I hear the saw running, do I get to kill that son of a bitch eventually?[/sp]
Holy shit guys I figured it out :v:
[sp]I didn't actually think about the wheelchair zombie, but it fits surprisingly well for David to get stalked by his subconsciousness' vision of Simon. I'd figured David started taking the pills in his downward spiral of regret after running over Simon and just blanked out the reason why, imagining they just showed up in the mail one day.[/sp] Surprisingly conclusive for a joke ending.
Mild early game spoilers. It turns out that song really does make everything better. (I had to bump up the brightness so it recorded decently on the feed.)
So umm.. I [sp] delivered the weird package to the yellow mailbox outside the college[/sp] Do I need to play the game through now, or how do I get to the [sp]Heaven/Nightmare map[/sp]?

Talk about nitpicking.
Holy shit guys I figured it out :v:
Maybe they unfold in the same time because there's a part in AoM where you crash your car inside a forest. What i mean by that is he maybe crashed it on simon and ran away hallucinating
Talk about nitpicking.
I will disagree with some of the graphical complaints since it is a Half-Life 1 mod and it's very limited compared to modern games, but the mod does have some mismatched textures. The game does have some tense moments, but a couple of cheap jump scares. The mod is like a lot of things and isn't perfect, but i do enjoy a lot of it.
GREAT NOW A PUZZLE [sp]I readed the note in the floor and keep using the doors but they teleport me back to the same place!?[/sp]
