Is there a zip file anywhere with all CoF files in it? My friend and I want to play this together, but when he runs the installer his computer slows to a crawl and it doesn't install. We tried extracting all the files out of the exe file but that didn't work, and apparently installing via Desura is broke so this is the only way I can see him being able to install this.

I've heard rumors that you can get VAC banned for playing this mod. Is it true?

Seeing the different endings, it's just kind of disturbing yet confusing. [sp]Everything in the entire game after getting his legs smashed at the beginning - at least until the final boss in the Ending 4 route - was essentially the real Simon writing a giant book full of horrific things and this 'false' version of him, Book/Evil Simon who could walk, was the protagonist of the book. Which means every enemy, nightmare sequence, or creepy incident could either just be horror inspiration making its way into his book, or they could be past aspects of his life. Like the pedophile, chainsaw men, and otherwise.[/sp] Which means that fighting [sp]Nightmare Simon[/sp] in co-op means you're not just fighting some annoying bastard that [sp]looks like the protagonist, you're literally fighting the Book Simon the real one wrote, who might see the Police as monsters and is hard to kill because he's the literally the fucking protagonist and embodiment of what Simon wishes he could be/do in his depression.[/sp]
Are there any more horror mods that are like this one?
Are there any more horror mods that are like this one?
Afraid of monsters, Nightmare house 2 and underhell.
Am I the only one who find Simon's voice very sexy?
There's plenty more of his voice on his channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/DragonmasterNOR I assume this is one role he wants to forget, though:
I had the same exact reaction :v:
I love how thats my video :3
Am I the only one who find Simon's voice very sexy?
the voice acting in general strikes me as pretty laughable it's clear the speakers are not native english speakers, since their inflection is so... odd. i can't help but wonder why they didn't look for better actors since i'm sure they wouldn't have had much trouble finding some fairly able volunteers.
They wanted authentic accents.
They wanted authentic accents.
Like a Swedish accent as in authentic?
I didn't like the voice acting at first, but I started liking it halfway through the game, like when simon would get mad and swear, and the doctor's grim voice. Although the script made no sense sometimes, if not the whole time.
So anyone actually manage to get S Rank yet?
mmmm speedruns i should get in on that, maybe a melee only run.

Aaaand I found it was released exactly when I can't buy HL1. Fantastic. I don't even get why I need it if it's made from scratch.

[editline]6th March 2012[/editline] Just got through the apartments, [sp]as soon as I saw the long corridor with the save point at one end I knew shit was going down, I was going AW HELL NAW when I heard the chainsaw start up in the dark, but thankfully the lights came on so I could shoot nailface right in the tumour.[/sp]

I kind of want to play it in Swedish with subtitles, it'd make more sense and the voice acting would probably be better.
I think the voice acting is fine, better than Resident Evil's at any rate.
I kind of want to play it in Swedish with subtitles, it'd make more sense and the voice acting would probably be better.
You can't, the language settings only change the subtitles as far as I know.

Is there any health on the damn moving train after the maze? I have next to none, so simon is slow as fuck and stumbles everywhere which doesn't help my aiming on the bouncing train filled with enemies that kill me in 1 hit. All I find is m16 ammo. Either that or is there a way to cheat? Edit: How do you get out of the train when it [sp]crashes?!![/sp] Is there a specific method of trying to jump over chairs and squeeze through the bars?
Jesus fuck, that game was full of what seemed to be mexican stereotyping.
It is, but it makes it all the more fun to play online. If you're with friends, you just start calling each other "cobrone" and "essey" without knowing.

Anyway, just keep trying, you only need to climb up by jumping on shit.
Just finished the game tonight.. It was the most beautiful mod that I've ever played. I actually felt connected to Simon in a way and I had so many laughs and fear invoked real life hand spasms when things got scary.. Then as soon as the sun started to come up in the game I got one of those rare feelings that you get when a game manages to poke into your own emotions to make you feel warm and cozy with a sense of accomplishment. Mods, even games like this are few and far between. I don't know if I'll ever enjoy something as epic, scary, and loveable at the same time like this mod was.. But now it's over and I have a mixed feeling of happiness and sorrow. I'll never see more of Simon, I'll never be able to enjoy more spooks in this twisted, depressing, yet strangely warming world. I still have that feeling from when I was walking down the street and into the park, the snow starting to fall and that calming music reminding me of just how alone I am, that I'm depressed, that I've lost so much of what I've held dearly to me all while somehow making me feel okay with those facts.. Thank you for this beautiful mod, and thank you for making it on my favorite game engine of all time. I think I'm gonna go cry now
