Whilst the game scares me in every way shape and form, i gotta say the most terrifying thing i have encountered so far are some of the animations.
I know engine limitations, personal experience etc but that first boss cutscene animations, scared the crap outta me :(
Well shit, now I need to find the M16 to fight him.
How the fuck do you dodge the bastard's projectiles? I know your supposed to [sp]shoot the chains on the Carcass's chair, but it's impossible when you get hit by the fcuking heads with knives in them[/sp].
you are not supposed to hit the chains, just get behind something to cover and shoot him when he's not shoothing faces

But the heads are fucking heat seeking missles, and there is no cover that can protect me from them.

There's giant AC units on the roof, you seriously didn't notice those?

I am hiding behind those. The heads just go over them and into me.
Infact, the first time I fought him, that was the very first thing I hid behind.
Welp, nevermind. I just jumped onto the other building's roof with those square orange boxes. Those are big enough for cover.
There has to be a fucking option to disable dashing. The fucking thing got me killed.
I finished the fight. Took me every singe one of my bullets and shells, but it got the job done.

Jesus! A chainsaw dude ran up to me when I entered a door, and then my game crashed. Scared the shit outa me.

You mean the double-tap dodging? There is.

uhh i did that on my first playthrough.
even then, the walkthrough that Stig (simons voice actor) made near the release of the mod included that too.
Is there any way to fix the awful model lighting for the flashlight? I'm running a Radeon HD 6970 and models tend to flash incessantly whenever I run the flashlight over them. It's really annoying and makes dark areas look like shit when half the room is fucking glowing.
The fucking music in this game is just godly terrifying.

Where? I didn't see it in the options.
Never mind, I found it.

That song was scary for the first five minutes, but after killing all the enemies and trying to figure out where to go, it was just annoying and gave me a headache.
For the carcass, go behind the fences on the roof to the right of the building. The faces can't get you there.
I think that the only aspect of cry of fear that I don't like is the inventory system. I hate it when inventory screens are done like they are in cry of fear, why can't more games with limited inventory space use grids ?
Think about it, a ladder or a m16 takes up as much space as a tiny key or a fuse, it's a mess.

Yeah, but a grid would be pretty hard to implement into the Goldsrc engine.
Question relating to jumpscares:
Are there jumpscares like the one in the beginning during the rest of the game?
Like, ones that pop up out of nowhere with a loud goddamn noise?
So uh, I learned how to change textures on goldsrc models yesterday.

I just made this, how the fuck is this late?! :v:

There are. Can't remember them entirely off the top of my head, but, if you want to spoil yourself, early on [sp]in the lower levels of the apartments, after leaving one a random ghost will break the door open and scream before disappearing.[/sp] And towards the end of the game, [sp]you encounter two enemies that scream; one runs at you with an axe and several of them appear throughout a mental hospital, and the other is a handstanding zombie that does the absolutely loudest noise in the game while rushing you with kicking attacks.[/sp]
There's of course more than those, but I haven't played in a while so I don't remember well.

I hate spoiling myself, but I'll take my sanity over coughing up a lung from literally-shit-my-trousers fright. Thanks.
[sp]Yes, I'm a shaky man when it comes to screamers.[/sp]

You forgot the [sp]hangars.[/sp]
I kinda wish there weren't any enemies during the last chapter, it was so serene, I had enough of combat and wanted some pretentious artsy ending sequence.

Yeah, the monsters seemed really out of place in a sunny, friendly neighborhood.
Gotta agree there, luckily they were the easier types and not too many. The atmosphere of the last chapter gave me hope and few more kills didn't bother me anymore.

Oh god that happened to me twice.[sp] Its still there if you come back D:>[/sp]
I like how the co-op campaign isn't terrifying at all because you're playing with friends. I didn't really like it as much as the single-player one since it was just basically running from one level to another with no plot.

James has an ironic obsession with down with the sickness, I really don't know why.
