no 4 tanks should not be able to kill hydras and a few roaches anyway
yes they should? More roaches could easily break 4 tanks but if you had mostly hydras, they're intended to be squishy high-dps units. They melt to siege tanks.
or i guess they are and i just hate stuff which hardcountesr other stuff because that makes games retarded
don't make stuff which is hardcountered by his stuff?
Alternatively, make stuff that is hardcounter to this stuff. It seems like you just want 200/200 ultralisk+corruptor+brood lord armies to face off 24/7 and not give a damn about composition. Everything counters something, that's how the game is designed.
<actually snip that i have something better to write> Yeah I realize that my other posts right recently have been dumb I see that now, havnt played for ~4 or so months and too many changes I dont really know what to do. So, is it possible anyone can explain me the metagames of each matchup and any MAJOR changes since december or so?
lings and banelings? yeah any decent split gg add mutas? stim up the marines
uh...? ling bling muta has been a standard comp against marine tank since approximately forever [editline]25th March 2013[/editline] are you playing HOTS? mutas are even more ridiculously awesome in HOTS than they were in WOL
Yeah I realize that now, I just could've sworn that i read or saw somewhere that roachhydra is ZvT metagame somewhere a while back
lost to a gold terran fucking shitty game balanced very well yes 0-0 tanks 1-1 marines should not win vs 2-2 roachhydra ever
it shit game cause I lose!! TT Im sorry.. :c
Guys i usually keep two or three tanks around at all times and focus on marines and thors. Should i use more tanks or that is a good number? I usually keep them in the base, mass marines, thors and medvacs (while also doing the occasional drop) then push forward, bringing the siege tanks for a good measure. I also play mostly 2v2, swarm hosts backed up by tanks are quite impressive :v:
it shit game cause I lose!! TT Im sorry.. :c
i get frustrated when i lose to stuff i havnt lost to like that in a few years eh, side-effect of not having played for 4 months :v: [editline]25th March 2013[/editline]
Guys i usually keep two or three tanks around at all times and focus on marines and thors.
Yeah I realize that now, I just could've sworn that i read or saw somewhere that roachhydra is ZvT metagame somewhere a while back
It never was the meta for ZvT. Stephano was the only one who could make it work, very few people on ladder can make it work aswell. In hots if you want to go roach/hydra, you need to rush to hive and get vipers. else you'll get rekt.

I'm feeling a bit like Widow Mines are OP at the moment. It's not that I've had a hard time dealing with them, but I feel like they force an inordinate amount of care out of a zerg in moving an army around, and they impact zerg way harder than other races. You're forced to grab detection, and sweep the whole path to the enemy's base before you can actually push them. They can shut down muta harass in a second and instakill groups of lings, and all at essentially no investment from a terran.
Have you seen what snute does against widow mines?
I don't think so? Enlighten me please.
I don't think so? Enlighten me please.
He gets speed for his overlords and make a couple more and before he engages he sends in 4+ speed overlords to soak up widow mine shots, then moves in.
I guess that's a somewhat expedient solution, but it doesn't get rid of them and it's not really any faster tech-wise since you still have to tech to lair, plus then you need the overlord speed upgrade, which is slower than getting an overseer.
40sec of playtime before the mines go off again is gr8. you can always have 1-2 overseer after you send in the ovies to pick them off.

(also i sent you a f/r on steam so we can talk more about sc2) ALSO I AM GOING TO BE IN A CAR FOR 4 HOURS WHEN I GET BACK I BETTER SEE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT GOOD STARCRAFT STRATEGY
let his face soothe your soul
"Sometimes not enough minerals in game. Sometimes not enough minerals in life." :C

i wish complaints against things like widow mines weren't laughed at by other people they're clearly not exactly balanced
i wish complaints against things like widow mines weren't laughed at by other people they're clearly not exactly balanced
they're not as imba as you think though splash damage is a bit much, but for the most part, they're balanced
they're not as imba as you think though splash damage is a bit much, but for the most part, they're balanced
people keep telling me this, but i don't think so a cheap, non suiciding, air hitting auto reloading baneling that zerg doesn't have the same easy counter to that terran has in order to properly counter terrans who use them well, and sit on them to help bolster their armies, or who use them near their own mineral lines to counter muta runs, you need to be doing a lot of things to counter a static defense they don't have to do anything it's not about me being bad or dumb or stupid or anything. I run singlular, to small grouped zerglings towards those mines to eat them up first. You can't do that if they sit on them. You can't do that if they're smart and place them in defensive places that most heavily counter my "get in get out" style of play with mutas i mean, they're cheaper than banelings, and do vastly more than a baneling does, and they can burrow by deafault, if I add up all I need to do that to get a small baneling force burrowed(lets not even talk about getting placement perfect so I don't accidentally have them out of place when they move over my banes) it's a vastly larger amount that a group of widow mines, a highly efficient unit that forces a reaction out of me. maybe i'm just the worst player in gold or something, but widows do not seem balanced to me

Even blizzard has said that they want balance to come from more than just masters you know.
Even blizzard has said that they want balance to come from more than just masters you know.
the thing is, at lower levels of play, it's a matter of figuring out how to properly counter the unit as opposed to it actually being imbalanced usually you're just not reacting quickly enough or you're producing the wrong unit
