because getting a decent widow mine hit against the toss requires him to either go robo tech and be braindead or go star tech and not have good hunches.

Keep in mind that a turret shuts down an oracle just as well. The widow really generally requires baiting an overagressive player into them, since the range they have is pretty pitifull. And you'd need quite a bunch to be able to be aggressive with them.

Of course TvP is my worst MU so I tend to grumble around a lot. (TvT>TvZ>>>TvP for me)

A good player is top 8 Masters +
A Person that knows pretty well about the game is diamond+

Not necessarily. A person with good macro and no understanding of the game should easily be able to make it into Diamond+ A person can also have expert understanding of the game and just be shit at macro.

Though generally you need to know a lot about the game to macro efficiently. But there are those who do cheese/all-in builds macro'd well and get to Masters but know jack shit :v:

The higher you get the more you realise how shit you are. I feel like I could absolutely trash some mid masters players, like, it wouldn't even be close. But someone closer to high masters can often just rape me.

In TvT, what's a good counter for siege+tons of marines? I tried battlecruisers, which worked somewhat well but was wondering if there's a better one.

When they are going heavy marines in TvT, you can punish that by going 3 factory (off of 3 base) and thus every time you siege up, they are unable to engage. You have simply too many tanks for them to ever engage straight up - but you have to beware of them dropping you everywhere with these marines.

To be honest you can have a good undrstanding of the game but still suck at playing it.

But how can I actually force him to fight? If I get closer with the tanks, I either get bombarded by his tanks, he rushes in with the marines or he takes a step back.

drop play is usefull, deny him map control at least somewhat and pick apart and one single good fight in the end might save you, since tanks are slow to build up.

Force him to unsiege - ravens work and give your vics potentially antimissiles.

Basically you need to force him to unsiege and counter push, flank and hit his production and eco.

A Terran bio mech army is slow on the map, t can't react very well to multiple threaths and itself has a hard time counterpushing a set up smaller Terran force.

Well I'm saying good compared to lower leagues. I forget the percentile of people in masters but its small.

You have to either;

a) siege up on his fourth/third and contain him, forcing him to engage you if he wants to expand (whilst doing this you turret up in your main so he cant drop)
b) pull his army around with drops etc., out multitask him (or attempt to)
or
c) takes bases slowly and defensively, whilst teching up to your ideal army!

Terran scanned the burrow roaches which triggers the widow mines but since his bio was over it the damage splashes all onto his own army.
