I am slowly climbing back up into gold league again. Starting low bronze and now in mid silver. If I make it it will be my fifth time in gold 1v1.

Am i the only one who doesn't play PvP at all in this? I'm more comfortable being in teams with people vs bots. :v:

Nice going from playing vs the bronze players that had really wanted to play lategame most of the time to playing vs silver terrans that are only doing allins. While I aim to play for late game. Realized now that any race allin in silver league.

Cheese is pretty easy to defend if you know the proper response. Generally, you can scout and shut them down pretty quickly.

And I would hope that you have zlings or queens by the time he has a spine popping out.

The golden number is 3. Thats enough to chase down and kill a worker thats trying to bunker/cannon rush you. Pull more as needed but always remember killing the worker stops everything dead its tracks, just don't forget he can bring another one. I've lost to cannon rushes like this where i kill his probe and then he just had a second one and built a bunch of cannons anyway.

I am in bronze and I keep getting killed by things like fast cloaked banshee, DT rush and cannon rush. How do I deal with these? I have read the ones about cannon rushes, but I have no idea what to do against the other two, that wont need me to focus on dealing with them from the beginning. I play as terran.

I play as terran.[/QUOTE] This is a big generalization but if you see your enemy take 1 early gas or 2 gas on one base be prepared for any sort of early aggresion. Shit like DT rush or banshees can come about as early as the 6-8 min mark, so get some turrets before then.

Mass mine all matchups till plat.

6 months of no sc2 and I come back and randomly play 5 ranked placement matches. Won all 5 and was thrown back into platinum! :D No stoppin' the swarm!

I play as terran.[/QUOTE] Early cloaked Banshee is easily countered just by having detection. If you can see them, it makes their harassment nearly impossible to do. Same thing for Dark Templars but more so because you can kite them with your marines and marauders. When doing MMM it's good to transition into mech like Thors and Widow Mines. Mines are great for strategic placements and Thors are great anti-air. They may be expensive but teamed up with Vikings and Seige Tanks and you'll ever have an issue fighting off annoying harassment. Also Missile Turrets behind your mineral lines are highly recommended at all times. And Mules are OP. No seriously. Terran's income, if properly maintained is extremely useful. You should never have an issue funding your army.

Honestly if you weren't planning doing some super lean timing attack or expoing as Terran you should get a Raven to stop DTs. You can use it for the very oldschool build "polt timing attack" where you use the Raven for PDD and just roll over your opponent since he went for DTs and will have a tiny, mostly Stalker based army or better yet cannons.

I still pull the sensor tower that doesn't cover mineral line + missile turret trick.

Is Wings of Liberty worth picking up for campaign? I enjoy the Terran, and I enjoyed the civil war in the first game. (It was a civil war, right? It was a loooong time ago.)
