I never got what the appeal was for Moba's. They're fucking boring and take no skill.
ah yes, because stacraft 2's 200/200 deathballs take so much more skill
have you even played dota?
How'd it go?
Ling of liberty finals.
zvzzzzzzzz.
iem = yoda stomping first 4-0. TvP
How'd it go?
The GSL finals showed that Kespa players are fucking amazing and that Symbol is very inconsistent. roRo is amazing in ZvZ, everything the did was perfect, and symbol was just dicking around. In the IEM finals First seemed like he didn't care about the win, he was playing very poorly and seemed like he put in no effort.

Oh god.. please dont start this moba vs sc2 debate.. please no..
league of legends > starcraft 2 #yolo
Broodwar master race.
Love doing 2v2 randoms with random race with voice chat. Makes the game a lot more social.
I have recently come into some rather intriguing information. Before I was complaining about Starcraft 2 not following down the road of Samir Duran but as it turns out he actually does make an appearance! Emil Narud! Duran backwards with a similar facial structure and different voice mind you. But this intrigues me very much as Emil is latin for "to copy". And this guy runs the Moebius foundation doing scientific things that Duran would have been doing. Am I extremely late on this because I never noticed any of this until now.
Its like an easter egg cause he doesn't do anything in the story.
Its like an easter egg cause he doesn't do anything in the story.
Oh but didn't he? Moebius is a very integral part of the story as they are responsible for pretty much everything that's happening. And it wouldn't be the first time Duran manipulated you into doing his dirty work.
youre extremely late also i recall Jim wanting to hunt down kerrigan and kill her
what changed his mind??
chris metzen is the george lucas of video games

The fact that there was now a way to stop her without killing her was what changed his mind.
Don't forget Zeratul's memory crystal. He showed Jim that Sarah plays a crucial roll in saving the universe.

Considering that you need more than 10 apm to play starcraft at a competitive level and you're controlling more than one unit at a time, I would say yes it does take more skill.

I dont think you've played a moba enough to judge that
I dont think you've played a moba enough to judge that
I've played multiple moba's in the past, mostly because my friends were into them, and was completely bored by them. Mainly because there were so few avenues in which a player with superior skill could dominate. Pretty much all you need to know is which items to get and when you should or shouldn't attack. There's some teamwork involved, and some skill in ganking, but that's it.

Got up to diamond as terran and I wasn't enjoying myself one bit. Wins felt like they were gained by the skin of my teeth, and losses were just crushing most of the time.
And it's a pretty broad generalization to say that there's so few avenues for skill to shine in, when it comes to farming, ganking, counter-ganking, pushing, teamfighting, and winning lanes, as well as the whole separate game of drafting. (I'm talking about Dota in this case)
Probably the majority of the reason why I like Dota over SC though, is that it's so much better with friends. Team games in SC were such a joke, and my friend and I never enjoyed them. Being able to have fun with up to 9 other friends of various skill levels really makes the difference for me.
Why are we talking about mobas in here.... :c Cant we at least try and keep it on topic.. To each their own blah blah
Also really close to finally beating the WOL campaign! I don't know why I never brought myself to play it but im having fun so far!

On top of that, if you're going to at least try and be good and improve, you'll have to constantly be attentive to enemies items, enemy locations, predict what they're going to do, constant map awareness, etc. on top of the general skills and teamwork involved. Now I'm going to say that sc2 has a higher skill ceiling than Dota, but it is not that much.

oh.. okay
so uh
how about that code s final
and the fact that incredible miracle swept iem world championship

i mean even before all that, like when youre on Mar Sara in that bar even then Jim acts like some whipped little teenager regarding her and at that point he has no clue of her role nor that she can be "saved"
infact im pretty sure he still wanted to kill her, or before Metzen pulled that retarded lovestory, becaue she was guilty of killing billions of innocent people and he did not care if that was because of Mengsk or not
I just choose to ignore SC2's story completely. There is no reason trying to make sense of it because they obviously weren't trying. The cliches, the plot holes, terrible terrible damage, it feels like they were aiming for 12 year olds who never touched sc1.
Its really a shame because after BW ended and everyone wanted to know what happened next and this doesn't stay even remotely close to the original. Its sorta like the leap of going from Crysis' story which was over the top but it made some sense to Crysis 2 where its just a shitty excuse to keep playing the campaign.

"I'm the man who's going to kill you someday."
granted, that was in the heat of the moment after fenix died. a lot of things can happen and change someone's mind in 4 years.
of course, it's no secret that the quality of blizzard's writing has gone down a lot since wow

"in the heat of the moment"
im fairly certian ANY other person ever would still harbour such feelings towards her.
and what the fuck happened to Fenix? its like he didnt even exist at all and so far all we have is a rumor that he might be referenced in HotS, the same with Stukov.
look the story of SC2 is garbage, but its mindless hollywood stuff. i can enjoy it while i play it but afterwards ill be left with a distaste

Lets see all the awful things that has happened to Blizzard's lore regarding games, anyone is welcome to join me.
-Garrosh Hellscream went from trying to be a better orc then his father only to become a insane mad person ten times worse then Grom
-Deathwing was originally a racist dragon who believed anything non dragon needed to die in a hole? Now his just killing everything because *old gods*
-Illidan went from anti-hero to Saturday morning cartoon villain
-Jim Raynor's retarded romance with Kerrigan
-Old Gods in general being faeries and orcs version of lovecraft horrors that make all things go crazy and every villain can just be responded by "lol old god dickey"
-Thrall deciding to go fuck around and give leadership to someone prone to arrogant and impulsive acts
I'll think of more later
jaina
arthas
infact just about everything after vanilla WoW, during SC2 and Diablo 3
what happened to artanis anyway
is he even mentioned in sc2?(disregard final protoss doom mission)
he died in that mission
he died in that mission
That was a vision of the future, though, so he's still kicking around.

Oh man I forgot how Mal'ganis is still alive after being soul killed by arthas
Okay I know I'm a bit late on the SC2 story stuff, but what do you guys think will happen to Raynor? Here's what I'm thinking, it would be cool in a way if Raynor died because he's kinda poor as a character, but then that would just be dumb right?
What if in HoTS, he has a one on one fight with Kerrigan and he gets his legs cut off and is stuck in a super cool terran technological wheel-chair or something, but he's still like really depressed over not being able to truly walk. Then in the protoss focused game, some of his old protoss friends come and give him bionic legs! And so he snaps out of the depression and gets the motivation to save the universe. Those would be two amazing, totally unforseen twists!
