It has been, they made a short movie named Half Life: Uplink , yes, it's the same name as the HL1 demo however it didn't had the approval of sierra plus it was pretty bad, It was supposed to be released in 1997
That was made by a British ad agency in 1999 (HL wasn't out in 1997). It was released but Sierra got pissed and withdrew it. [editline]05:27PM[/editline]
I remember reading somewhere that Quentin Tarantino wanted to make a Half-Life movie, can't remember where though.
Tarantino is a fan of the series and has considered making a film version.
Both of you fail. LAMARR http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Lamarr
Fuck.
it would have the potential to be either incredibly great or embarrassingly bad.
a movie based on the seven hour war?
this.
I just imagine a HD + 3D version of Freeman's Mind
I would like a Half-Life movie so long as Valve has direct input into it and the Half-Life team is allowed to create ideas and give feedback to the movie studio/director and actually have their suggestions be considered. If not, fuck no.
I don't think you could go wrong with a group of scientists and guards attempting to get to the surface
A 3D movie? I would honestly prefer it more, if I could PLAY for that matter any Source game in 3D. However, I do like 3D in movies, but when the technology is used proper. I don't know if I would of seen Avatar on the big screen without 3D, but back to the H λ L F - L I F E movie discussion. As I have stated before, the #1 problem is there are fans who do not want to see Gordon Freeman with a voice in a film, just as there are fans pro Gordon talking, which is why Freemans Mind can be viewed on stuff like the iphone. Now, we know an λ movie can be done proper, you have seen "Escape from City 17", that does not have Gordon in it. Heres a crazy idea, would Ross from Freemans Mind look good on screen as Freeman? I know a lot of fans would like Dr House to be Dr Freeman, but do we have unanimous thoughts on these ideas either way? Aside from having the right director, you also have the writers that must stay true to the original ideas. The only directors who look interested are Tarantino and J.J. Abrahms (refer to ABC's LOST reference in Black Forest) The whole thing is, whatever Valve says goes, or doesn't.

One person manipulates the suit, and Ross Scott provides the voice. Gordon will finally have his HEV helmet on his person for the purpose of the tactic.
I remember seeing a decent fan-made trailer for a half-life movie. Here it is!
Well... Only one way to destory the combine!
It's this thread again. A Half-Life movie would suck like all the other game-based movies
Postal the Movie was 1337
Christopher Walken as Gman
How about Otis the obese Canadian security guard?
The only thing we know about him story-wise is that he was scheduled for training on the day after the Resonance cascade occurred.
Postal the Movie was 1337
Postal The Movie was made by Uwe Boll
It's been more than 2 years since the first meet the team came out, and there is still only 7 of them. Think about how long a full movie would take.
The meet the videos are animation, not live acting.
A Half-Life movie would suck like all the other game-based movies
Not if Peter Jackson directed it :3
I'd like to see what kind abomination of a movie Uwe Boll would shit out of this.
I'd like to see what kind abomination of a movie Uwe Boll would shit out of this.
L4D/L4D2 would probably interest him more since zombies are a primary focus, and there's a woman that he can strip and kill off 15 seconds later.
Gordon should be played by Keanu Reeves, because if anyone should play a character who has no dialogue, it should be Keanu Reeves.
The movie would be incredibly shitty.
I agree. A Half Life movie would be "shitty". Why? 1: Main Charcter has no Dialog 2: No real scenes of any emotion 3: You spend 25 minutes waiting for the movie to start Its a great game, just not a good movie

Imagine seeing through the eyes of a Vortigaunt as it looks over a battlefield strewn with its buddies' corpses. :ohdear:
They suck cause the directors probably never played the game.
It's not entirely the director's fault( except in Uwe Boll's case), mainly the writer's fault( again, Uwe Boll) for being inaccurate to the game's original story and writing blandly. Cases in point: Doom, Bloodrayne, Postal, Alone in the Dark, Far Cry, and others I'm too lazy to find or remember. [editline]02:00AM[/editline]
I agree. For sad moments, have Gordon interact with some personnel before the incident and make their deaths really tragic or something, so that we know that shit is real.
