Wouldn't it be funny if EP3 just popped up on to the store, no adverts, no nothing- just the complete full game and no-one noticed. :v:
That's actually what I'm hoping happens. No advertisements, not even on the front page with "RELEASED" It's just suddenly there one day.
It should be gorier, imo. It's isn't 2004 anymore.
Hl2: Ep3 will either use a better source than l4d, or the current one. L4d2, and l4d use a modified source, so most likely no.
Wow, Where did you get that info... Nowhere? You act like you know it will. *You predict!
Left 4 Dead wasn't over the top with gore. L4D2 maybe, but L4D, nah. [editline]11:19AM[/editline]
Wow, Where did you get that info... Nowhere? You act like you know it will. *You predict!
Well I think it's safe to say that they're not going to make it on GoldSrc.
I actually want to see less gore, on the Overwatch, I mean. Like, I want to see you shooting at a Combine soldier, and just see a puff of dust or smoke or something because you hit his armor. I want to see us having to be a bit more careful about where we shoot, or atleast make it a difficulty mode. However, I would like to see the ability to blow the arms and legs off of the zombies and see them still come after you.
I'd have to disagree there. HL2 isn't all about 'lolgore' like L4D2 is.
Id love to see combine dismemberment and gore.
I'd like to see gore in EP3 to an extent, but nothing like the over-the-top L4D2 gore. I liked L4D2s gore, but it doesn't fit HL2.
Why doesn't it?. I think the HL-series haven't had gore since it was impossible to make gore by the time HL was released.
I wanna shoot a combine soldier at point blank range with a shotgun and be able to see his ribs afterwards. There should be some dismemberment with explosions too, not over the top though, may like 1 leg or 1 arm.

But it would more likely be toned down a little.
As long as it has that "more horrorish theme" they promised a while back, they HAVE to add some gore to it.
As long as it has that "more horrorish theme" they promised a while back, they HAVE to add some gore to it.
L4D2's level and style of gore was horror retardant if anything.
Left 4 Dead 2 is kinda different from Half Life 2. Lots of gore that was in L4D2 was acceptable, but I wouldn't mind it in Ep3 but It most likely won't be there.
I don't give a fuck, as long as it comes out.
I don't see how they would the same seeing that they're of different genres...
Well I hope it won't be like L4D! With all these years they've been developing it, it better not be running on the same Source versions/technologies.
I hope its gorier than the previous installments, but I don't want it where a single assault rifle bullet blows someone's legs off. Maybe RDR like gore.
I hope they leave gore out, screw that. I mean, having legs and shit fall off just isn't Half-Life- Eh let aside the exploding bodies trick that the first game pulled on us.
It needs to have kind of... F.E.A.R. like gore I guess you could say. Not too much, but have the more powerful weapons like the shotgun have chances to blow the head, legs, and arms off, and make it so that explosions can also do this, but have it remove some skin or something as well. [editline]12:12AM[/editline] But no MP7 or AR2 gibbing, and have different kind of gibbing for crowbar. Like bloody gashes.
I would like to see holes blown in zombies or combines like L4D2 if you hit them with a powerful weapon like a double shotgun blast, but nothing over the top like dismemberment with a pistol or swiping a head off with the crowbar. On second thought swiping heads would be p. neat.
JAM THAT CROWBAR INTO SOMEONE'S NECK AND LEVER THEIR HEAD OFF! :byodood:
JAM THAT CROWBAR INTO SOMEONE'S NECK AND LEVER THEIR HEAD OFF! :byodood:
that would be a hardcore as fuck secondary
JAM THAT CROWBAR INTO SOMEONE'S NECK AND LEVER THEIR HEAD OFF! :byodood:
I'd prefer to jam it in a Combine's Helmet and rip that off to expose their ugly face, if there's anything left of it.

Excessive violence is well suited to the comical style of zombies you see in many films and games, L4D included, but I'm not sure it would suit HL2Ep3. Although I guess something more brutal saved for explosions and/or impacts might be cool.
I don't want excessive gore like in L4D2 but it would be nice if they had deforming models. I don't know the technical term for it; but I mean like when you shoot someone in the head you can actually see the entry wound deform the head as if a bullet entered the body. Like they did in Red Dead Redemption.
Episode 3 will be nothing like Left 4 Dead. Even if it's just as gory as Left 4 Dead it won't play like Left 4 Dead.
Tf2's gore would fit well, just with HL2's dark red blood and not the bright red Tf2 blood.
Tf2's gore would fit well, just with HL2's dark red blood and not the bright red Tf2 blood.
Like the gibs Black Mesa was going to have? I'd be fine with gibs from explosions.
I'd like more realistic blood effects and a little more blood, no gibbing. But shooting a metrocop in the leg, watching blood spurt out would be awesome.
Maybe we could go with things like skin burns and stuff, that would be cool. No more dark zombies when they get burned yaay!
I'd like realistic bleeding like SMOD in Episode Three.
