dont quote all the fucking images you moran
There's a ~2000x1000 texture of the Mün surface on the Mün KSP wiki page.
Thankyou so much whoever put it there. Now I've made a model of the Mün. You'll see why in a little bit.

oh god what have I done
This question has probably been asked a few times but; what are the practical applications of ion engines? Are they only useful for lightweight probes being sent on interplanetary missions?
Guys help, I don't know how to airplane.
I've tried it with crazy-ass 100-part freighter planes and it works pretty damn well.
I'd wager you're just on old hardware.
i have an i7 cpu, amd hd5700, and 3gb of ram
i'm p. sure that is enough to play ksp.
My first ever spaceplane landing attempt (at the airstrip, that is).
A resounding partial success! Sherdo has orbited the planet and survived. Shame about the prototype... ASAS is not so good for landing v:v:v

I just can't design a fucking remotetech probe that can accurately sync orbits, even with a fucking ion engine, they always drop out like after five or so days.
spaceport needs moderators
and ban people for a little while if they tag their stuff wrong (like .craft in the plugin section)
im volunteering
Actually come to think of it, I might ask Skunky or Damion and se if I can be put on Spaceport Moderting duty.
Also Damnit, Im trying to edit the size of some kethane tanks (purely for a lag control thing) but they default to the size of the originals.
I made an anti-satellite spaceplane

Is there any more parameters besides this?
I made some more explosions for you.
I've started editing videos instead of just uploading the raw files. Not very well edited, mind, I'm not good at it. Feedback would be nice.

EDIT: also, sorry if you live in Germany, that second one will be blocked.
I can't imagine craft files (even the insane number of them) take up anywhere near as much space as anything that isn't just text.
SHHHHHH. YES they do!
SHHHHHH. YES they do!
Actually, disregard everything I said previously. I was mistaken. The craft files require too much overhead on the server and should be removed immediately. They also have hepatitis.
Is there a modpack that supplies 2x1, 1x3, 2x3, 3x3, 1x4, 2x4 and so forth replicas of the current vanilla panels?
I'm not sure but I'd use it in a heartbeat if it existed.
Does any mod have an adapter from the tiny modules to the medium sized ones? That always annoys me.

You can thank r4m0n for making the image, he found out that there is a way of dumping that normal and height maps of the planets and moons.
Is there a mod that disables exploding parts? I don't mean destruction, just that I'd rather pieces that hit one another and tear each other apart do just that, rather than explode

Open up the cheat menu (alt+f12) and tick no crash damage (but not unbreakable joints)

Fucking amazing, thanks
OH god, space junk is terrifying.

Any modders/ people familiar with unity know why my animations work fine in 3ds max but in unity one of the doors is spazzing and flipping??
Is there an autopilot for planes?

Tried to make a large plane, two of four engines exploded on launch, managed to land it back at KSC...
That's where it stopped. :v:
Yesterday I made a fairly big landing pad sorta thing for the sea.

I'm surprised I didn't have nightmares about the fucking thing - just getting it off the launch pad was harder than half the shit I've done in this game, never mind just driving it over to the ocean.
It wasn't even worth it.

Uhm, that shouldn't be happening.
It got really hard to control all of a sudden.

This can't be good.

And then the plane went into a flat spin and ripped itself apart.
So I sent up a small probe with some robotic pincers to my space station in order to get rid of some of the debris floating around, endangering my solar panels.

...which went well.

I use KAS for that job, hook it on, retract it a bit, maybe go for a second piece, and then burn for a deorbit trajectory. If I have enough fuel I'll detach the debris and burn myself back into a stable orbit, but it's usually easier to get a second ship.
It is really hard to drag a double stack of orange tanks with a mainsail using a ship that consists of a large RCS tank and a lander can though. That debris will jerk you in every which direction.
My mun shuttle looks pretty awesome when it's docked to one of my small munlab stations:

This munlab is pretty obsolete, so I might use the shuttle to tug it back to Kerbin :v:
