I prefer these struts over the quantum struts

Looks much better and doesn't drain any power

I give up with docking by hand; I've been trying to do it for so long that it just becomes nightmarish. The number of times the ports have been out of line by about halfway and the ships have bounced apart, fuck. I don't really like the idea of MechJeb, but it might be the only way to actually pull this off without going insane.

Give this addon a go first
http://kerbalspaceport.com/lazor-docking-cam/
Right click on your docking port, select View Docking Camera, and it'll open a camera window from the ports perspective. Makes it infinitely easier, without relying on automation like mechjeb
Anyone got a tutorial on how to make a remotetech satnet? they need to be so fucking close orbits that I just can't get them precice enough to not fall out.
just get 3 sats rougly ~120 degrees apart in nearly any orbit, and 2 in polar
Why is it that always when i get an encounter with Duna i get in some wierd path behind Duna going straight past the planet from behind, and when i plot a course to get into orbit i need to burn in 40 min!?

I always try to launch for that, but end up screwing the timing, and getting a line of satellites

but they are being magically connected
you still get the same problem, but quantum struts use some power which i like
How do I make my rover wheels tougher again? I have a heavier rover and it seems they like to pop whenever I hit a pebble...
And I can't repair them because the weight causes them to pop during that little bounce they have when repairing.
I blame the game, not my design.
Although the problem with smaller tanks is that you have more weight for all the decouplers and fuel lines. I found the tanks I used to be a good compromise between usability and weight.
Yeah, I wasn't attacking your design, if it works, do it. I was just surprised that the KSP devs made all the tanks have the same ratio.

I cannot say enough for how much easier this makes docking. It is a godsend. I also really like it because you're still flying the thing yourself.

I almost tossed my laptop across the room after my first attempt with docking. Then I discovered that all you gotta do is have properly distribute rcs (you want the same rcs force on each side of your center of mass, and also make sure you have rcs pointed in every direction, i.e. always place rcs with the four-symmetry option), and when you are docking, turn on chase camera mode, point your ship so it's in the same rotational orientation of the docking port, and then turn on rcs + sas and use translational keys to line up and move in.
You actually don't need sas if your rcs is perfectly distributed, because then you won't tilt when you use the translational keys. You could also try to manually account for these tilts using the rotational keys simultaniously, but this is usually a recipe for headaches and wasted rcs fuel.

The fact it drains power makes it way better in my opinion. It's a neat little way to balance it. Though one tiny solar panel is enough to power them.
But power drain as a balancing factor for a strut is just silly, unless your strut is a laser, which is even fucking sillier
Man, I must be a retard when it comes to the simplest things in this game. Trying to get a stable orbit not using mechjeb, and everything's fine until the part were the wiki tutorial says "now drag the crossed green circle out until blah blah". All that ever does is have an orange dotted line disappear off into the outer solar system with no orbit in sight.

Here's how you explain it:
The struts aren't actually struts, but are rather wafer-thin devices that manipulate the dimensional properties of the entire ship, using quantum entanglement to effectively turn every part in the immediate vicinity into one single entity. And this device uses a minuscule amount of electricity to maintain some kind of process that keeps the entanglement going.
[sp]If you looked at my computer right now, you would see three interesting facts:
1.) I opened the quantum strut spaceport page to see what the things even look like.
2.) I actually opened the wikipedia article on quantum entanglement.
3.) It's 6am to the dot.[/sp]

drag the circle less

Turns out I was dragging the wrong one. :v:
I decided to make some coasters out of chainmail, i did want to do a KSP themed one but didnt have any ideas, the closes i came to was a stylised radioactive symbol.

That's pretty cool looking, I'd buy it.
[SUB][SUB][SUB]Why do you have chainmail[/SUB][/SUB][/SUB]
They're not too expensive, well, sort of, but they're hand made and the materils arent all that cheap, could do a pair for like £18/21 euro/$25 including postage (maybe cheaper depending on where you are int he world, plus currency conversion.
and to answer your question....because i can, its a fun hobby.

No you made the mirror button that is set to 3-way mirror

Well, after seeing my probes safely to four different celestial bodies without any modifications, I believe it's time to put the Taylor Interplanetary Launcher Mk. I out to stud (if there's such thing for rockets, I mean). But that means I need to make a replacement, but I'm shit at designing rockets that actually work.
Help.
try making a srb powered one
Anyone ever seen this skin in the debug menu before?

Gonna take a note from my friends on the ME thread:
Just blame Mass Effect Fields (which apparently is supposed to be capped). Alternately, nanomachines.
Before going to land on the mun, Jebidiah is going on a spacewalk!
he sure looks happy

Mechjeb does the Nyan cat thing to Lazors because r4mon is using it to remind Romfarer to change the GUI settings on it.

Oh, there's another mod, Lazor docking camera
Last spacewalk before the landing (if there's even gonna be one)
