Not mine but holy crap this thing is awesome. It's a VTOL capable SSTO spaceplane that is also amphibious.

But wait, there's more. He also made a Star Wars style "hyperspace ring" for interplanetary transfers.

I think it's a wonder that any developers are nice to their fanbases. The way people flip the shit out every time they hear something that sounds vaguely like something they don't like, I bet they feel like it's all so worth it.

It did seem to get a little hyperbolic; It's important that developers be upfront (and clear) about that kind of thing though.
Did anyone else notice that DR's post on Reddit about there not being DLC was deleted (most likely by himself)?

They really need to come to places like here more often. The official communities are just Sturgeon's Law in action.
I mean hell, the developers can't/don't even give a solid release date of updates until really close until the actual date of release, yet people act as if the comments on the stream about possible future expansion/dlc's are set in stone.
Why exactly cant you publicly say it? Is there some NDA?
Nah, it's more that I don't want to breach the trust of the various people who have mentioned things to me, or to get them in any bad position.

This is completly nuts
I just wonder how the hell he made it not go unbalanced the instant he turns on the engines due to fuel being used

This.
This is my biggest hurdle when i am building space planes.
how about we wait for c7 to come here and say "we want your money again" before we start flipping tables
Shit, built a capable mun lander, ran out of fuel while intercepting my course with the muns orbit
:suicide:

yes

i was running at quarter res and then turned it up for the screenshot so maybe it didn't load or something
Is there any way to move the camera to a different ship/station/whatever that's really close? Would make selecting a docking port for targeting a whole lot easier.
Also, speaking of targeting, any way to do it without having to click on the object in the map menu? I have a problem with debris being in the exact same orbit as my station and it's making the selection process a major pain in the ass.

No, the right click menus won't even load until about 200m away.

Ah sweet, thanks.
right so i tried to expand my space station with a docking ring and about 100 meters out in hellish lag the space station started shaking randomly and almost tore itself to pieces (sas was off, it had been fine for most of the docking manuver).
So i decided to abort the docking of the docking ring since it was too laggy to use anyway. Next space station i make is probably going to be one piece and as small as possible while keeping it's utility so i can avoid the lag monster. Heres hoping for more optimizations too.

God, Reddit is so full of shit.
Anyway, N3X15 just posted this on the subject.
No DLC. We've discussed DLC multiple times and it's generally agreed to be a dumb idea.
Harv was referring to shifting development priorities and said the wrong thing due to Spanish -> English conversion and everyone not having discussed the shift at that time.
Someone pointed out that they did literally say "paid expansions" on the stream, to which he replied.
I wasn't there, but from what I was told at the meeting after the stream, we weren't doing that.
The plot thickens. Either way, I would recommend everyone hold off on judgement until we have official word on what's going on.
so according to n3x15: it's actually going to be more along the lines of a toggle when starting a game?
why squad needs a native english speaker to check stuff

Tbh this is dumb.
Alpha pre-purchase should offer the core game, with all planned features. Expansion packs, should just as an example, add a new solar system, with story/career related stuff to it, alien artifacts, and things with things in them etc. Some new construction thingamajig like the spaceplane hangar.(Submarines and boats and things!)
Then it should be called Kerbal Space Program: Naval Program expansion pack.
And if people are still having a poop fit, maybe squad could give like a discount or something for alpha members?
hey c7, would you be able to just clarify this whole thing for us?
would make us feel a lot better

We're talking about reddit, keep dreaming...

KSP is so damn addictive.
I've installed it on my Series 7 Slate PC and now I can play KSp during Physics classes :V (who the fuck needs cinematics for computer engineering ffs)

Where did he say that? If you're referring to career mode, it's just going to be something you set when you start a game. The GUI for that is already in the game. Sandbox and career are likely to be completely identical except sandbox will have no limitations on money or parts.
My personal view is don't even think about expansion parts until AFTER you finish the game.
Could someone please explain the whole "Lazor" mod thing? I don't want it to be another mod I don't use.

I don't see what's wrong with thinking ahead about what you want to do after you release a game. They really want to get a final released product out there, and if they keep going "oh man, we should add..." then they will never release a final game.
The way software development works is you decide on what your requirements for a complete product are, then you deliver them. In the highly unlikely event that you are ahead of schedule, then you can start adding fun little things, but at the same time you don't want to add anything so complex it would actually set back the release date.
I personally draw the line with DLC when you have 100% completed content that you hold off from release so you can sell it later. Stuff like on-disk DLC or release day DLC. That's what really bothers me. In the case for what KSP is planning (potentially, we still don't know exactly what's going on), you're talking about content that still has to be created. On top of that, what they sound like they want to do is not at all trivial content or features either. Harvester called what they wanted to do later on as practically an entire new game in itself.
Anyway, on topic...
Lazor is a crazy mod that does a hundred things with a crazy interface. It's gotten easier to use but think of it like a laser guided autopilot. It also has a ton of other functionality like maps and docking cameras, but honestly none of them are particularly intuitive. The lazor system is only a few parts now, so there's no harm in trying it out to see if you like it. Just keep in mind that it's always been one of those super complete all in one type mods. It's more like 15 mods put together with all the things it can do.
it feels like a complete game to me as soon as there's colonization of some sort and resource gathering
Made a space plane a few days ago. Wanted to test its range and how easy it was to pilot.

Range was great, after a few tweaks, so was its control.

Ended up getting from KSC to the arctic. Landing on ice is easier than you would first think.
