Bit late here but both craft would be going ~2500 m/s, so in opposite directions that's ~5 km / s. It would probably take a few tries to get the other ship to even load
[editline]21st April 2013[/editline]
Also 85 parts in that B9 pack... I'm going to download it but I might die of load times and how unorganized the VAB will be
I've got my game running from an SSD, and I only have the B9 and novapunch pack installed right now (and some really small mods with very few parts in it), and it already takes 3 minutes to load up
b9 aerospace wins mods, no one bother making anything

Fuck, after seeing all of those mods that look great and have some custom plugin for it. I think I have been left behind.
I did have a plugin maker at one point help me but he stopped working on it because he could not get around some issue. Anyone want to team up or something.
Is there any way to organize parts in VAB so I can actually FIND what I'm looking for and maybe not have to look for things again if I install another mod?
no but there's a search mod

Doesn't even matter, if you could get the two things perfectly aligned, the no crash damage debug option only works up to a certain point. If you're going ridiculously fast, the part will break.
Unless my install is fucked, but that's what I've experienced.
I can barely send a single satellite into orbit yet people manage to send entire space stations around the Mun.
I'm not good at this game.
Take it in steps, don't have a big goal like make a station, as one goal, instead have several goals and complete them in order, such as:
Send a probe up ito a successful circular orbit to practise
Send a manned ship up and get it into orbit
Send up another manned ship and then rendezvous
Dock said ships.
Unless you know what you're doing, attempting a big goal all at once is only going to result in failure.

I'm pretty awful at it, but a lot of it comes just from trying things out and asking questions. Gravity turning (tilting your rocket in the direction the planet spins, so east for Kerbin) is an amazingly useful thing for launch, as is asparagus staging when you get into using heavier payloads.

In addition to this, realize that some/most of us go through many many attempts to get even those larger goals into existence (or at least I do.) Hell it usually takes me a good 10-20 attempts just to get some of my rockets off the ground, let alone orbit. Then I get up there and realize I forgot a solar panel or docking node or something like that.

yea i would say i'm a fairly alright player, but i often go through 20 or so tries trying to design a rocket that can get a heavier payload into orbit.

iirc that's actually from the latest firespitter plane pack. B9 just puts it on a better looking monitor.
Credit where it's due, y'know.
Everything I make works the first time.
One time I fell asleep on my laptop and when I woke up I had a fully functional space elevator on Duna.
[editline]21st April 2013[/editline]
Docking takes too long so I hacked KSP to allow me to dock while in 100x time warp.
Well I trusted the no crash damage option a bit too much and sent my rocket straight to the moon.
At least Jebediah Kerman who was sleeping in the supply thing that somehow survived the crash was absolutely pleased at the sight of spinning around at the speed of light in direction of nowhere.

I hear ya, I do the same thing. I've started reverting back to the smaller rockets and seeing what crazy shit I can do with them to get where I want to go... (3 or 4 different gravity slingshots/aerobrakes around Laythe to get to Vall, then another sling around Laythe to leave Jool, now trying to get home)
Smaller is better in my opinion, trying to do more with less, rather than using more but accomplishing less.

This ship is probably going to fly like shit but man was it fun to make

Antares launch today fellow space nerds.
Jesus christ it has so much power it sent me right into the solar system and around the sun in a single burn
After two long months of nothing, the Moho Explorer mk.1 finally arrived at the Antares crater on Moho, which boasts a huge kethane deposit.

After a soft landing, the small autonomous rover rolls out.

The rover is equipped with a high-magnification camera, which will explore the warm brown planet.

But what's this?

Just as a side note, I once considered applying to work at XCOR but decided not to after seeing this internship posting:

It's a fun read that just gets more hilarious as you go.
Yeah sure. Didn't save it as .psd though so I remade it from scratch, with a few tweaks.

Welp, the people in the KSP IRC like those.

he is the last of the mohocins!
does anyone else get huge fps drops when using B9 cockpits? my fps drops a huge amount when using them.
[editline]21st April 2013[/editline]
atleast the new cockpits do, not the old "space truck" cockpit. I guess it's just because of the extreme level of detail in the newer ones.
Hasn't SQUAD's rubber-stamp response to the lack of IVAs in KSP been along the lines of "we find them boring to make"?
I'd hazard a guess that not only does B9 not find them boring to make, but that he loves making them. The attention to detail is a bit staggering.
C7, unless you guys have recently begun having fun making IVAs for all the cockpits, perhaps you could consider bringing B9 on board for such a task?
The idea of high detailed IVAs seems worrying to a low powered user such as myself, or am I mistaken that it's only rendered when you're actually in an IVA?

Your IVA cockpit is only rendered when in IVA, correct.
[I assume, it wouldn't make sense otherwise.]
Are there any other ring station mods other than this one?
http://kerbalspaceport.com/wayland-corp-space-station-o-ring-truss-pack/
I find that the models aren't centered properly, as well as the one model in it not actually having a center attach point.
Is the IRC still #KerbalSpaceProgram on freenode? because that chat is more or less dead.

I thought it's always rendered, because of the live pilot view
