Nothing terribly interesting here, just played a little last night for the first time in a while. This is a small station I put together yesterday. There’s a little tug that moves modules around. The last piece I added was a bunch of RCS tanks. It was extremely awkward to dock because I lost one of the RCS blocks on takeoff, making the maneuvering thrust very asymmetrical.
I’ve also been taking great care to not leave any garbage in orbit. The final stage boosters which put the module next to the station are unmanned ships in and of themselves. So once they drop off their payload, they re-enter and are destroyed so as to not leave any debris in orbit.
The final, or at least current, configuration is in the last screenshot.
How reliable is the prediction when you're making maneuvers? I've got this weird transfer if I don't burn enough. It also changes depending on how zoomed in or out I am on the map.

A bit further and I bend back on myself.

And so on and so forth.
I just said fuck it and eyeballed it off of the map. First time on the Mun without crashing and dying. :D

crypto's thoughts on the ssto hyperspace ring: well the idea is cool, but once hooked onto the ring, it handles like a pig. also refilling it is a pain because it needs to be perfectly balanced

plop some quantum struts in that ring... that takes care of the wobbling.
A while back, someone posted something that supposedly helps with driving rovers. I forget what it is, does anyone else remember?

By something do you mean a mod, or a tidbit of information on technique or somesuch?
So I have a lot of space-debris floating around in orbit right now and I've been trying to figure out ways to dispose of it.
And then I remembered this video:

At about 2 minutes in you can see him picking up some attaching thing that the kerbal can carry with him. I'm assuming this is a mod. If so... which?
By something do you mean a mod, or a tidbit of information on technique or somesuch?
The latter two. I wanna say it was an option that you could set, or something that you could toggle once you were driving.
...Then again, it could have been for building rovers, rather than driving them and I'm remembering wrong.

Docking mode, in translation mode.
It's in the bottom left corner, next to your control visuals.

Kerbal Attachment System. It's currently bugged, IIRC.

Well offhand, what i can remember is going into docking mode helps you drive a rover without rolling it over as much as you would in staging mode.
Well, to add more detail, go into docking mode and make sure it's set at linear, that way then when you try to turn you aren't putting any rotational force on it.

Ah, thanks.

I have no idea how I managed to look over that. :v:
The upcoming version of KAS is gonna have.....

Fuel plugs!
so what, treats it like docked to transfer fuel?
yesssssssssssss

I wonder if the [sp]living[/sp] Kraken still exists if you do some really weird, specific things in a sequence to break the game.
Sort of like Mew under the Truck, but with more tentacles.
God, I like Markiplier. But his KSP LP is making me cringe hardcore.

At least Pewdiepie hasn't touched this game yet.

Why is he like, semi yelling. And if it doesn't make you cringe I don't think you're normal, is he always like this or is he normally more like he was on the podcast a while back.

Outside of some games (like in his mail videos) he sounds alright.
that's awful
Then he's obviously a tool doing it for YouTube reasons.
I am still awaiting the resources update. That's sort of the first "thing" to do on planets beyond searching for artifacts.
Then he's obviously a tool doing it for YouTube reasons.
At least he's been doing it to raise money for cancer charity (10k+ I think :v:)
Is there any reason why my deployed solar arrays keep breaking on duna when i'm landing other colony modules next to them, and they're nowhere near close enough for exhaust to cause any damage? I'm thinking it's happening because of time acceleration but i'm not sure.

Oh well then act as big of a twat as you want to if it's to earn money for Charity,

I dread the day that Simon of the Yogscast does a video on KSP, you just know it's going to an awful experience for those of us who have a clue what we're doing.

Probably not gonna last long, since they've been copying what that jesse guy has been doing for a good while now.

*sticks a large fuel tank to a pod*
AHAHAHAH
AHAHAH
HOHOHOH
HOHooohhh
So I managed to get my first set of habitat modules into orbit with my solar array, which also has a command pod to control the stations thrusters and modules. Only now, I just realized, I've never docked anything before and this is the first time I've gotten anywhere near my target with plenty of fuel to spare. But I can't seem to keep it in steady and slow control, I really don't want to collide and I need to come in straight.
