Well, I'm just annoyed that the big payoff for the ARG was just... a marketing ploy. An interesting marketing ploy, and blah blah blah we don't have to buy the Potato Sack etc, but it's just frustrating that weeks of buildup has just lead to a few-hour early release.

Oh c'mon, the ARG wasn't that bad. You guys have nobody to blame but yourselves for overhyping the ARG.

They're right, especially in my case personally. I already paid almost 50 dollars for Portal 2, I don't want to spend another 40 for some games I'll never play again AND SEVEN I ALREADY OWN to release it a few hours early. It's just [I]not worth it[/I]. This whole ARG has been a marketing ploy by Valve from the start and anyone who hasn't noticed it yet has not played TF2 recently. Cross-promotions are nothing new and despite the community's backlash against them, Valve sees no issue with them, so shit like this will continue to happen and annoy everyone like me who doesn't have money to just throw at games when Valve says so. I love how dumb some of the comments are on that article. One dumbass was going on about how Portal came out 5 years ago. Now, I may not be a mathematician, but even I know that's wrong.
