Seems this was all a misunderstanding. I thought you were saying the ejection port was on the left when I saw it was on the right, so I figured you added a hidden ejection port to the left somewhere for the grenades.

This should be the title of the next thread.
Will you have the weapons use different anims for empty reloads?
Will you have the weapons use different anims for empty reloads?
Maybe, but we'll see how it goes later in the development.

Reality is Unrealistic.

This is what I'm talking about when I say ArmA 2 style view, and If anyone want to test It, I still have the lua script somewhere, I just need to fix the head scaling.
Some weapon work perfectly(Pistol, Revolver, Smg), some are not perfect(Ar2, RPG(no reload), GravGun) and some need better animation to work in VR(Crowbar, grenade)
[tab]Off Topic[/tab]
In a earlier Garry's mod update thread, I also made a video showcasing your awesome animation In First-person, I don't if I still have it. But Literally I only play like that now. I wonder If Garry will implement the Oculus rift in Gmod, since we already have it for TF2
hey, do you guys have a usp match model in the works? because I'm bored and I just started one. I was wondering if you didn't have one if you'd like mine if I ever finish it :p
here's what I've done in about 20 minutes or so (I'm still learning this modeling business)

Sorry to dissapoint you, but we already got a model :(
Though i dont know who made it, you have any idea Corgi or Snood?
Hmmm... I'd say maybe 18-20. But, since you're asking, I'll say 16-18 :v:.
Actually I'm 20.
I'd like to look at the back of the slide, the "grip" area seem weird...
[editline]fgd[/editline]
[t]http://puu.sh/2xXgh[/t]
(It the other side, but you get the idea) The "grip" part doesn't match (no pun intended), yours look like simply extruded...
alright that's cool, are there any weapon models left un-remade I could look at? my experience is limited, but I could do something simple like the grenade, crowbar, rpg etc...

As i mentioned before, the model is not mine so i don't know where it is.. And Mrbunneh, I have a list somewhere around here.
[editline]fzd[/editline]
annabelle, AR2, Alyx's gun, bugbait, Crowbar, Grenade, Revolver, Rocket Launcher, Slam, Stunbaton, Gauss Cannon/
It would probably be best to inform Corgi on it to, but you can always start now.

I'd be pretty keen to start working on the annabelle right now if you guys want.
as for corgi I'm not sure on how to contact him x_x

Well i wont post any steam accounts on the forum, but if you look a few posts above you can see a guy named Fat-Corgi-Guy, and below his avatar is a little steam logo, click that and you will be taken to his profile.

Annabelle should either be:
A. remodeled as a double barrel shotgun.
or
B. rescripted to hold 15 shots as per the real Winchester 1886.
It's not! it's a big video approximation of what Gmod could look like in VR mode (assuming it would do it like TF2 does)
If it fooled you then I guess I did a good job :v:
Oh, my bad. To be honest I didn't actually watch it, I was judging by the thumbnail. :v:
So I'm making the crossbow following this:
[t]http://images.wikia.com/half-life/en/images/d/d8/Crossbow_concept_art_1.jpg[/t]
And the view-model, anything to change or I can make a remake it almost 1:1?

Actually, we already have someone working on the crossbow...
This is the list of weapons that are not being done yet:
annabelle, Alyx's gun, bugbait, Crowbar, Grenade, Revolver, Rocket Launcher, Slam, Stunbaton, Gauss Cannon
And MrBunneh says he wants to do annabelle.
Do you guys need some new deathmatch maps? I want to create something while I'm still on vacation.

Okay...
[sub][sub]I'm sad now[/sub][/sub]
One thing that always bugged me with the animations is that when reloading the pistols, SMG, shotgun, and pumping the shotgun, the animations showed gordon using bad reload practices. I may just be that I am a target shooter and hunter myself, but the animations are wimpy. When you reload a pistol, you need to push the magazine in there with authority, and by that, you need to apply a good amount of force to ensure the mag is locked. Same for the SMG. With the revolver, when gordon sets they cylinder back into the gun, he shakes it in there by jerking the gun to the right. Colt pythons were known for the issue that when you did that, the cylinder would come out of alignment, causing horrible backfires. You are supposed to push the cylinder in with your thumb. As for the shotgun, I see gordon pretty much throwing the shells into the shotgun, where you should align it with the tube, and push it in as far as your thumb will go. Not doing that means shells could fall out. And the pump animation screams short-shucking to me. What short shucking is is when you work the pump, but no shell is loaded. You need to pump it with considerable force to get the next shell to load.
I realize that stuff might be a little odd to work in, and it's just one of my peeves as a shooter myself, but I just wanted to point this stuff out. In short, you need to work the gun with authority. Whether you are reloading a magazine, shells, or working a pump, you need to show the gun who is boss and not be too hasty with it, or else it wouldn't work. No need to work these in if you don't want to, just a wall of ideas.
Tl;dr, Gordon is a bad shooter.
Well I was going to say that Gordon has minimum firearms training so he wouldn't necessarily know this but then I remembered the Hazard Course.

You would think he learned how to properly handle weapons after black mesa. I would imagine a few handling problems early on in HL, but by HL2 he really should have learned how to properly handle multiple weapons.
If I had a go pro or some kind of head mounted camera and a few replicas of the in game weapons I would provide my personal style and handling for possible reference, but I have none of those except for a crowbar.

I was thinking of making the revolver reload sorta like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK_VNJNmzjc&feature=player_embedded#t=133s Though maybe adding the 'barrel spin' at the end of it, like the original HL2 one has. It's not practical, but I feel it should still remain a little stylish.

He wouldn't have had the opportunity. He was put in stasis by G-Man remember?

Yes. That look like a perfect reference. You could also use elements of the reload anim from Black Mesa, since they have it properly done also. I would also mention that to reload a SPAS 12, you actually have to flip the gun over to hold the two pins that unlock the loading gate, but then I remembered that the combine probably improved from that. If you want other video references, look up hickok45 on youtube. Loads of videos on all these types of guns.
It's not possible to spin the cylinder after locking it back into place, IIRC. Gordon would have to spin it before locking it back.
It can spin when locked, just only one chamber at a time, and not the way they have it now. They way they have it spin now can also contribute to cylinder alignment issues. So for the sake of having a small bit of realism, have him spin it, stop it, then lock it in. If there is one thing I thank valve for having, is that gordon doesn't put his thumb in front of the cylinder. The suit would do something to lessen the damage, but I dont think it could totally stop a compressed fraction of .357 muzzle energy.

True it's not possible, but it's a game, I'm pretty sure at least 70% of stuff that happens in games is not possible in real life. Besides, it looks cool, imho.
