Maybe we'll just make the camera somewhat fixed, so you can look around a bit, but not all the way behind you, to keep you from seeing the gaps.

Or just add those parts of the citadel back in...
Make it appear like a closed door/gate?
okay yeah you'll have to forgive me, my music experience is rather limited. what I was kinda trying to say is you're not going to have to spend all this dosh on like several thousand dollar mics, in terms of quality for videogames you'd need something better than a mic from best buy, but you *shouldn't* (don't quote me on this, please ;-;) need really anything better than a sm57 or 78, which are a couple hundred dollars at most. decent recording techniques and mastering is what's important, right?
(I'm sorry I'll see myself out)
I didn't mean to seem like a dick haha.
Personally i wouldn't use a 57 or 58 to record voice acting, i wouldn't use anything other than a cardioid microphone, and even then you need a usb audio interface to record the signal. :)

I already said in the last thread: Extra NPC-only weapons is just a waist of time.

I never said npc-only, I said they could be used by Rebels sometimes. Gordon could pick them up to use himself, I think it would make sense for Rebels to have some stockpiled Russian Federation weapons

I've gotten some awesome sounding voice out of a 57/58, but still, you're right. I think the reason a lot of mods have that cheap-sounding audio production is because 10 different kinds of mics, preamps, and software were used to record voices, and it sounds detached.
Why does your vaguely voice remind me of Walton Simmons from Deus Ex?

good idea lets throw in a buttload of boring and generic guns that are minor upgrades from one another. Instead of adding exotic new weapons

I know about the ugly ass stock shoulder curve, I'll fix it. EDIT: fixed, updated images. currently sitting at 1.5k tris, is that too high for a worldmodel?

Smoothing on that barrel is what I would suggest.

the barrels of the model 1982 are octangular.

I was just making suggestions, HL2 was originally going to have an AK-47 after all and I thought it could've been a nice addition to add some stuff from/like the Leak. What exotic new weapons could you add anyways?
I was wondering if you could add two weapons that would make sense to have in the game, the Flare gun and the Manhack (usable by Gordon), throughout the game we see Metro Cops use flares and manhacks, I think it would make sense if Gordon could do it too since there is no reason not to. Also, could you make the stunstick pickupable in the game? It strange that Gordon doesn't pick it up, despite its quite possible effectiveness.

the tau cannon and gluon gun are coming
this is still hl2, not hl2 extreme revamp hardcore edition
You guys don't have to be a bunch of assholes because I made suggestions you dislike, I didn't go to Corgi and force him to do my whims and I doubt he will even do what I suggested.

Having an AK that was originally going to be in HL2 = extreme revamp hardcore edition, but adding another cut weapon and a weapon from the previous game isn't? It would just be a 30 round version of the MP7 with different ammo, higher damage, and no launcher

maybe valve cut it for a reason hmm?

oh yes, i'm very calm right now
these suggestions have been turned down from the beginning really

They probably cut it because it was a pointless weapon, but they also cut the Tau cannon for that reason as well.
Another reason they probably cut the AK was because they got rid of the ammo system they had in the Alpha.
They probably cut it because it was a pointless weapon, but they also cut the Tau cannon for that reason as well.
there's your answer. it's pointless
the tau cannon is useful however if done right

The Tau Cannon wouldn't make sense to have in the lore, they would probably be rare as hell and the ammo would be rarer.
The Tau Cannon wouldn't make sense to have in the lore, they would probably be rare as hell and the ammo would be rarer.
there's a simple solution
the tau cannon has infinite ammo - it's mounted on the buggy so it's still around (we dunno how many though). first a vort would need to take it off the buggy when you have to leave it at that outpost
then you would have to mount it on the buggy or get very rare ammo scattered around the map
The Tau Cannon wouldn't make sense to have in the lore.
Its on the jeep, though, so that statement you made makes no sense.
Its on the jeep, though, so that statement you made makes no sense.
That's the only one we see, but now looking back I suppose you could just pull think off. I think that is what they wanted to have in the alpha
An unused sound clip (gettauoff.wav) can be found in the game's files of a citizen talking about detaching a weapon - deduced to be the Tau Cannon due to the name of the file - from the Scout Car, suggesting that at some point in the game's development, the Tau Cannon was to be detached from the car for the player to take with them after leaving the car at Lighthouse Point. Also the "script_tauremoval" Half-Life 2 entity means that a vortigaunt originally should have detached the Tau Cannon from Scout Car.
Yep, disregard me then.
Working on it :v:

Btw if you guys need some help with the code, I can help.
Been working with Source for quite some time now.
Is that going to have the shotgun and smg animations? (where it slides apart in some crazy way and magically takes different ammo)
The Alyx gun bugs me: The mag release/slide catch isn't on the Valve model. Let alone a fire selector.

What is this post even directed at?
Tau could draw power from batteries and chargers.
