The coding for the annabelle is there, you'd just need to modify a few scripts here and there and animate the model. It's all there.
They are not adding the annabelle guys I dont know why you are all arguing the point. Its grigoris special weapon and has no place as the players weapon.
It's strange how Grigori treats the rifle annabelle like it's a double barrel shotgun. He fires only two shots without working the lever and then reloads through the breach. :v:
Though the Alyx Gun has the coding in the game too, so just in case you guys DO use the models for player use (probably only through secret commands/locations) you can just modify several files to make it work.

I'd rather have weapons like the Tau Cannon or the Egon (or maybe even some new combine weapon), as those are far different from any of the existing weapons in HL2. Imho, it's better to have a wide verity, than to have a 2-3 of the same types of weapons with only very slight differences between them.
Now if you guys really, [I]really[/I] want the Annabelle, Alyx gun, or something to be made into player weapons, we can see what we can do, but later in development, and also assuming that we actually have the time and the people to do that.
I was just saying that the annabelle should have a viewmodel because it's obtainable in regular gameplay. the alyxgun (afaik) isn't.
Guys, remember, this mod is going to have Full body awareness, you can't use the same scripting/coding, or animations or anything. They have to be changed to work with the player and world models. In turn the world models are the ones that need to be extremely detailed, except for the guns and stuff that the player doesn't use.
It's a lot of effort to do just the base weapons and animations like that.
Also the whole getting annabelle in the first place, is a glitch. I'm pretty sure, after the 'beta', VALVe didn't want to give the player it. But due to VALVe being the somewhat messy people they are, they left the content in, and it just so happens that you're able to pick it up and use it, IF you go through the complications of shooting the shotgun off of the porch before Grigori spawns.

Do you mean as in ammo boxes in the game or the ammo reserve Gordon carries? Because the ammo reserve is ridiculously low, at 6/12. You'd think Gordon would carry more reserve rounds for a weapon that can instant kill Combine Elite Soldiers with a headshot.

Actually it kills them with one body shot too.
I kinda feel it should have more ammo, yet I also feel that it shouldn't. My reasoning is it's one of the most powerful guns in the game, killing pretty much all foot soldiers with one shot. Though you did run out of ammo very fast if you didn't use it in moderation.
On the other hand, I personally thought VALVe added just the right amount of ammo. It seemed like a special weapon, to reserve for special occasions, yet there was enough ammo to go crazy with it sometimes.

In my thoughts, and after reading your post, I think it should be 6/18 at MOST. That's a total of 24 rounds, and with the plenty of ammo boxes in the game, that would be enough to last.

It's a maybe, since it was a glitch to get it, if we added it I think it would be a good idea to leave it as a glitch. (Only make it properly animate and not screw with your inventory)

I feel like the Tau Cannon shouldn't be obtainable, since it's mounted on the buggy, and it's so unlikely the Egon made it out of Black Mesa. Both of them seem like the only purpose they'd serve would be fan service, and I think that's why Valve left them unobtainable.

I wouldn't mind the Tau being obtainable through regular play, but there was only one copy of the Egon gun which is a prototype.
Sure Tau is as well but it's confirmed to have made it out of Black Mesa.
Egon is okay in a secret area though.
I feel that extra weapons should be obtainable, but not directly given. The Annabelle could be acquired if the player waits long enough after Grigori helps him escape. Players go back to the buggy garage for the tau cannon at Lighthouse Point. The Airboat Gun would be incredibly mega overpowered anyway you slice it if that was also being considered for something like a minigun.
