Hey guys, what do you think about the SMG1's origin:
(unofficial)
Agree for more to the left/center (Automatic +1 because I want more to the center)
Disagree for more to the right
or Dumb for keep it like it is

But the MP7 is made primarily of polymer, not metal. Like the G36.

That is because it isn't made out of metal. The MP7 is plastics

Aah I get ya, that's understandable.

Oh god my true knowledge of guns has been exposed.
Whoever made those textures clearly had a smaller container in mind, one that was supposed to be 2x128 long. Modeled and other brush based ones are designed to be 3x128 in length. It wouldn't hurt to have some variety in containers.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/cargo1.jpg[/img_thumb]
I'm aware of this, but it doesn't change the fact that several maps along the Canals and Coast have mid-sized brush containers.
I'd like to hope we'd remove all brush containers and replace them with static/physic-based models.
Not a bad idea, except you'd have to model like a few versions. Off the top of my head:
Damaged red container in Station 6.
Open Blue-Green container in Water Hazard (several variants)
Mid-Sized Blue-Green / Red containers along the Coast
Small Blue-Green / Red containers along the Coast

Actually, I took that one out 'cause no one seemed to pay any attention to it...
That MP7 certainly looks sexy.

Looks like one of those things they did for optimization.

Here, have another WIP shot before I go to bed:

the pistol grip texture looks kinda weird imo

Don't worry it'll be fixed, remember, this is still a WIP.
I think that grenades should be able to cook in your hand. I also think it's weird that when you switch to the grenade you immediately pull the pin.
I think that grenades should be able to cook in your hand. I also think it's weird that when you switch to the grenade you immediately pull the pin.
You can hold the grenade as long as you like if you hold the handle down. That's all the pin does, hold the handle in place.
[editline]6th April 2013[/editline]
Speaking of the grenade though, this is just something I think would be cool but; What if when we throw it, there's an audible 'ping' and the lever comes off? The discarded lever could be done the same way shell casings are, right? I come up with this because it never made sense to me that the grenades roll as well as they do despite an the obvious handle which would prevent them from moving. On the other side, inactive grenades will be prevented from rolling away by the lever, making them easier to pick up.

Gordon keeps the safety clip held so as long as he holds the grenade then he can run around the entire game with one out.

It would be awesome if this mod had physics for shell casings, magazines, and the pin and safety clip for the grenades. I played a mod for Max Payne 2 that did that and it was awesome to see shells and mags get blown all over the place after a grenade went off.
What I mean is I want to be able to let the grenade's timer tick in my hand so when I throw it it'll explode where I need it to.

You can do that already, drop the grenade with right mouse button then quickly pick it up with use key. Then wait and then throw.
Also fun to do with use key and grenades is catching enemy grenades in the air and tossing them back. Fuck the grav gun, that is for pussies.

I miss HL1 grenades. Most of the times in HL2 you have to throw upper the grenade in order to get kills.

that's a very awkward way of doing it and it doesn't really make much sense at all
that's a very awkward way of doing it and it doesn't really make much sense at all
Cooking grenades is pointless anyways, Combine soldiers usually cannot escape the grenade or will cower next to them.

The combine quite often got out of the blast radius when I played. And bear in mind they're smarter now, on the AS engine. Cooking was an extremely useful mechanic in Killzone, I'd actually really like to see it in this mod.

He just told you how to cook the nades.
Also, drop them and then use the gravity gun, even better than just cooking and throwing.
Hey everyone, this is my first time posting in any of these threads and I have a quick question:
How is the grenade fired from the MP7? The little grenades you pick up are visibly larger than that second barrel on the gun, so unless the gun has been modified in some strange fashion that allows it to fire grenades how will those grenades be used?
Unless the grenade launcher will be a separate weapon then just disregard my post.

i could've sworn the MP7 above has a remodeled 2nd barrel specifically for that reason, compared to the vanilla MP7.
