Perhaps it's a bit late (and admittedly for an element I'm not concerned about, personally), but would Delta (∆) fit in there at all? In mathematics (and science I'd assume) ∆ is the[URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_(letter)#Upper_case"] symbol for change[/URL], so I thought it might be appropriate. It's even seen with Sigma in the Laplace Operator, which can be seen in the above link, though I have no idea what the hell that equation means/is used for.

We haven't even settled on a NAME for the mod, and all it is is pretty much Half-Life 2 with lens flare and extra shaders and HQ textures. We aren't making an entirely new game here.
The entire mod is being done by people in their free time for NO money. We are doing it because we like the game, and want to make it look better than ever.
Let's all act more mature, and when we come to this point, we will deal with it then.

It's hard to do something "wrong" in graphic design when there aren't really any fixed rules, I was just giving my opinion on what style is more modern and what options in the design you missed.

I'm sort of split between the Half Life themed and the red one :v:
Personally, I like the red one the most. Most likely because it is a change and it feels new. As I mentioned in our conversation, those little bird/scanner/things should be white in my opinion.

FYI this thread is for discussion and suggestions, it should be perfectly fine to discuss anything about the mod in here because this thread is completely separate from the actual development.
I like the Half Life themed one best, though could we see what it would look like with a grey version of city 17? It doesn't have to be a dark grey, just a medium to light grey.

I prefer the red one, though both it and the left one are nice. I'd tweak the gap in the logo where the citadel goes through, the left side is thinner and it's bugging me a bit, but that's a minor thing.

I've been following this thread for a while now. Everything looks great so far, besides the arguments over some niggling details.
anyways I was just wondering how the mapping's coming along, seeing as most if not all of the content posted so far is either model or texture work? HL2 had some pretty swell level design, especially for a game released nine years ago, so I would like to think that touching it up to make it on par with today's quality of maps should be relatively painless. that aside, i wish you guys all the luck. can't wait for this mod's release.

Mapping work is pretty much on hold until the environment textures are done. But we will be touching up the geometry of the maps.
I'd like something like for HL2's logo the citadel, if we do EP1, we can do a broken citadel, and EP2 can be a destroyed portal-storm'd citadel :v:
