Here's a rough concept I came up with based on wewt's design: It needs some work, but It's not worth finishing if you guys don't like it
Looks like the Enterprise.
Looks like the Enterprise.
To boldly go where no logo has gone before.
How about we just use this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/5FkqylS.png[/t] Which we're already using, and be done with it?
that one and this one (I prefer this ones HL2 style)
T[t]http://i.imgur.com/ArLmlGN.png[/t] How are these?
Are great, they could use a bit of tweaking to make the E fit a bit better maybe, but I'm digging them both majorly.
Ok, here's a big question: Can anyone here model characters well, or know someone who can? Snoodles, our main modeler for characters atm, is swamped by work, and says he won't be able to work on anything mod-related for about 5 weeks or so. Plus we could really use the help with them in general. On another similar note- Half-Dead has agreed to rebuild faceposing for the models once they're done.
Once i finish my semester ill make a charachter, after im done with the HEV of course.

[editline]18th April 2013[/editline] I'm not sure how this logo works, though. The lambda symbol is supposed to be someone's (Gordon's) hand holding a crowbar, but in this logo the added E defeats the purpose. [editline]18th April 2013[/editline] Oh god now I'm doing logos too.
Are we almost done?
Oh god now I'm doing logos too.
I really like that - straight forward and minimal.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/XTSxdHg.png[/t] Edited a little bit.
Ah, thanks, I knew something looked a bit off about it.
I'm not sure how this logo works, though. The lambda symbol is supposed to be someone's (Gordon's) hand holding a crowbar, but in this logo the added E defeats the purpose.
Eeeeh, I personally don't like the '+' ones, it just makes it seem...off. Just my opinion though.
...How about we start up on the map work for Trainstation again? We've got a very solid mapping team and I agree that by now we've done a little too much work on the logo.
Oh shit, last one broke Here u go again babe
Ok, guys, just stop, it's getting old.
The 'AE' logo looks pretty bad in my opinion. I'd use one of ratchet's logos or just the standard hl2 with a +. It fits the spirit of the mod more and it's not too preachy.
Oh god now I'm doing logos too.
Would go well with the name I suggested. Half-Life 2 [SUP][+][/SUP]
Guys it's been 5 +current pages already - so maybe stop the logo discussion already. Current logo looks good enough.
Æ ? Ah, fuck it
How about this for a Title Half Life 2: Enhancement Mod
Ok, guys, just stop, it's getting old.
I don't see the problem though, I don't really think random people making logos are really taking away from resources unless they are on your team, you might come across a really good piece of gold (Ratchets looks really good right now actually), you can just ignore the logos and start a new topic and allow the thread to continue feedback, logo or otherwise. I do know you think you have a logo right now, but in imo it's really "blah" and kind of uninteresting or not simple enough. I recommend looking at Ratchets or the + logo again, because they have a much more lively feeling.

That way we don't go through 100000000000 threads about this mod before it's finally released. My mind: [sub]these are just my thoughts.[/sub] HL2+ logo = ugh. Ratchet's logo = awesome, but looks like something for City 17 Part 1, not a HL2:EM.
stop debating about the logo and name please
stop debating about the logo and name please
Thank you Max. Now, here's what I've been working on for the past few days: [t]http://i.imgur.com/3wc0i5l.png[/t]
Thank you Max. Now, here's what I've been working on for the past few days: [t]http://i.imgur.com/3wc0i5l.png[/t]
I feel like you've really overdone the grime and abuse. Are you actually getting feedback on this as you go, out of interest? Because the Digital Art thread in the creationism corner or the Modelling Pimpage Thread in the modelling section would offer some incredibly useful criticisms.

Imo I haven't overdone it, remember what type of setting HL2 is in, it shouldn't be pristine and shiny, it should be dull, scratched, and slightly grimy. Similar to this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/nV2dWwL.png[/t] Also, you guys are my feedback, why do I have to go to a whole 'nother thread just to get feedback on textures I'm making for this mod?
Guys, the logo is shown in all of 4 places at most. Just slap anything together and it will work fine.
So if hidden caches have the typical resistance Lambda, would the secret areas added in the mod have an Epsilon spray painted or is that breaking the fourth wall hardcore
So if hidden caches have the typical resistance Lambda, would the secret areas added in the mod have an Epsilon spray painted or is that breaking the fourth wall hardcore
We'd probably just leave it a lambda symbol to keep consistency, and the fact that we're not using the sigma anymore.
why don't YOU tell him what he's doing wrong first
Because I'm not particularly experienced in the area, like many people in this thread, and those in the places I suggested are. I just feel like people are going on the feedback they're getting in this thread, and although there is still some beautiful work turning out, the people offering said feedback don't know what the fuck they're talking about. Constructive criticism is the difference between an alright mod and a great mod, on par with Black Mesa (for example). Edit: And this rings true even more so for this mod because it is almost entirely aesthetic.

If the majority of the community find that it looks good enough, then there really shouldnt a problem. besides, if those experienced are intrested at all in the mod, then it is up to them to post criticism on his work on this thread.
You dont need to be a chef to tell if the the food is shit or not. If the majority of the community find that it looks good enough, then there really isn't a problem.
But you do need to be a chef to say "This food doesn't quite taste right, it could use a little tarragon or perhaps some paprika." - Which is the point I'm making. It's not a matter of saying "that looks good" and "that looks bad", it's a matter of pinpointing the aspects of a game asset that needs improvement, and also pinpointing how they need improvement.

Any knit picks should be left till the final model is done, so we can decide if we should spend more time on it.
